Discover Muang La | Visit Laos | Luxury & Boutique Hotel: "Beautiful, peaceful, luxurious, a class act"
"The title sums up how we felt about this magical place. The location in Muang La is perfect - far from the disney-land tourist circuit of Luang Prabang (and a beautiful but bendy 5-6 hour drive from there as well!), it's remote but therefore also perfectly situated for exploring the nearby rugged countryside with organised private trecks through the hills, visits to the various ethnic groups and their time-locked villages, followed by a dip in their own natural hot spring and a delicious 5 course meal every evening overlooking the river. The managers Raphael (Swiss) and Job (Dutch), are at the top of their game and do a magnificent job of making you feel like royalty from the moment you arrive until the moment they wave you goodbye on your onward journey. I advise booking at least 4 nights, a package which includes free beer and wine at dinner as well as a free massage and gives enough time to really settle down and experience it all. If you visit Northern Laos and have the budget (not cheap but looking back it feels like truly great value), this place is a must."Chakrabongse Villas: "Relaxing days in bangkok"
We stayed four days in the amazing riverside villa. Starting with a very friendly and warm welcome by the manager Ms.Atom, our stay was as good as we had expected. An oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city of Bangkok. You will feel like prince and princess in former times, to whom a perfect breakfast and dinner will be served in a beautiful location. The whole staff did their very best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you very much Atom and all the others, it was a great start for our journey and we will definitly come back!!Villa Song Saigon: "Elegant hotel on the Saigon River"
"We started our vacation in Vietnam in this elegant hotel. It looks and feels like British colonial times. We ate our breakfasts on the banks of the Saigon river and had delicious food there. Our room was on the third floor and there are no elevators. We never carried our suitcases - the service was wonderful. We were looking for a place to eat and the staff told us where locally they went to eat and we had a delicious lunch there. We took their water taxi into the city and it was a treat to ride on the river in that way. The pool there is lovely and staff are around to take care of your every need. We couldn't have had a better start to a fabulous two weeks in Vietnam. "Mathis Retreat: "Very relaxing stay – very good value for money"
"We stayed 4 nights in April with a 2 years old, it was our second stay and we enjoyed it again very much. Scenery and landscape of the hotel are just fantastic, the personalized service very enjoyable. Karine the Manager had great tour suggestions and recommended a very nice and competent guy. A special mention for the restaurant of the hotel (Terra cotta), where all the food there was very good every time (try the desserts!) and the service top level. Definitely a very good value for money. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"Villa Song Saigon: "Best customer service EVER"
Easily one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. They have a free breakfast meal which you can eat anytime of the day. And the breakfast includes a wide range of options beyond the obvious breakfast dishes. They have a free refillable mini bar in the room (wine, beer, juice, iced tea). The rooms are quite fabulous, try to stay in one that overlooks the river. The pool is quiet and stunning but right near the main entrance so you'll see visitors coming in and out a lot. If you're using Uber to move in and around the city, you can ask the concierge to help in translation. By far the service at this hotel is par excellence.Rachamankha: "The Hidden Treasure of Chiang Mai, Thailand"
Everything about Rachamankha is excellent from the Front desk staff and most especially the General Manager who made sure I have the most comfortable experience during my stay. Its definitely my preferred Hotel to stay in Chiang Mai.Villa Song Saigon: "Best Experience in My 6 Week Asian Travels"
"Amazing Boutique Hotel that sits along the peaceful Saigon River, beautiful colonial style rooms, amazing views, personal staff, great pool, and excellent restaurant. I never wanted to leave (no kidding). The staff were so good to me it felt like they were my family. I had another month of travel upon leaving and I knew no hotel would match this. I would say it was one of the top 2 best experiences in my 30 years of travel. I want to give credit to the amazing staff (top to bottom). The Director of Operations Ta Thanh Thuy was so helpful: from future travel/hotel tips to aid with some personal business of mine (all this while being wonderfully pleasant and thoughtful). Ms. Nhu, at the front desk was the anchor. She helped me with all needs: tours, food recommendations, travel tips, and taking care of a Fed Ex package that wouldn't have gotten to me if not for her hard work. Equaling as pleasant and helpful was my friend Ms. Tuyet. Kevin, the chef, gave me wonderful advice for touring the city, and dazzled me with his Michelin level food. And finally the charming and lovely Ms. Quy. I enjoyed her big smile every day and our nice conversations. The rest of the staff were equally great, but I don't have the time or space to write on it. An unforgettable experience. I hope I'm back soon. "Glenburn Tea Estate: "Stunning"
This is a real must for any traveller looking for something colonial, luxurious and off the beaten track - the whole region of Sikkim is amazing and this Estate will leave you breathless !!! We did not see the mountains as it was overcast unfortunately but still kore than worth itMathis Retreat: "Beautiful tranquil oasis in the rice fields"
"The Kenanga in Ubud is a perfect place to stay. We had a room overlooking the beautiful rice fields of the hotel. The gardens are very lovely and the infinity pool is awesome. Breakfast is served a la carte and is delicious (the fruit jam is very tasty...). To get to Ubud Centre there is a free shuttle every hour until 5pm. Afterwards you have to take a taxi for around 40000 Rupiah. An alternative (by daylight) is to walk through the lush rice fields and arrive in the city centre after 1 hour. Carine, the owner is extremely helpful and organized a small private trekking tour with a local guide for us to a remote waterfall. All in all we had a wonderful time in Kenanga and will be back for sure next time we are in Ubud."Mie Cafe: "Lovely!"
Elegant, delicious food and lovely ambiance for our dinner. But book early if you have a specific date/time you want to eat, as we had to eat later than we wanted just to get a reservation. So glad we were flexible! A perfect way to end our trip.
