Tugu Bali: "Bali Transcendent"

Review by: Bret M | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is a wonderful hotel. The Tugu brand is well known in Indonesia for its sense and mix of history, local culture and design. Not to mention excellent food and understated but attentive service. This property has those attributes in spades. The Tugu Bali is perfect for people that like luxury and privacy and interesting, crusty surroundings - at a reasonable price I might add. Don't even think about staying here if you are into 5 stars and chrome and marble and buffet restaurants and big gyms and concierges that can get you into Mozaic or the Oasis Beach Club bikini parties on short notice - because you will hate it here. It is located, by the way, in Canggu, which was a sleepy place when the hotel opened, but is now the hippest area in Bali. Being surrounded by hip has its disadvantages, but also advantages - for example, the Tugu is opposite the best bar in Bali (possibly in Indonesia) and just down the road from one of the world's best seafood restaurants. Fortunately, Tugu guests are immune to the disadvantages (hipster crowds, beach clubs, bad restaurants, noise). The rooms here are oases - I know this is a cliche in hotel-speak, but it happens to be true in this case. In our room here, we were beautifully cocooned and felt entirely isolated from the rest of the world in the best possible way. Our small private garden and plunge pool were green and perfect. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. And I have never have thought of a bathroom as being sexy until I saw our bathroom in room 109. The common areas are also lovely. Big and spectacular in the case of the wood-pavilion-ed lobby, small and cool in the case of the pool, expansive and comfortable in the case of the beach-side garden. The service is great - the way I like it at least. Unobtrusive, but ever present. Bali is an ecosystem with deep wells of cultural fascination and mystery. If you want to immerse yourself in this Bali for a few days (not the boring Bali of Nusa Dua, or the Bali of cheap clothes and cheap beer and self-conscious bistro restaurants in Kuta and Seminyak), but not travel all the way to the north or east of the island, the Tugu Hotel is about the best compromise I know"

Sea Dance Resort: "Great holidays!"

Review by: AP1030W | Source: Trip Advisor
We spent one week in August at Sea Dance Resort and enjoyed every minute of it. The whole resort is in excellent condition, which includes the rooms, the garden and the pool area. The team was very friendly, helpful and always available to answer questions and offer support. We would definitely choose Sea Dance again. Many thanks for a great time!

The Island Lodge: "Vietnam"

Review by: shanry972 | Source: Trip Advisor

Nimmu House: "Hidden Gem in Ladakh"

Review by: Larmers | Source: Trip Advisor
"We booked to stay at Nimmu House at the beginning of our holiday in Ladakh. We spent three days acclimatising here before we went off on a 6 day trek through the Markha Valley and then returned for one night before heading off to another destination in the region. Nimmu and the surrounding area is absolutely stunning and it was wonderful to be away from the hustle and bustle of Leh. We were able to relax in the beautiful and very peaceful gardens of Nimmu House and the accommodation itself was just lovely - we were staying in the tents which were situated in the apricot and apple orchard. The tents were very well equipped with lovely comfortable beds and linen, beautiful interiors and fabulous bathrooms. The attention to detail was fantastic. The hospitality of the Nimmu staff was never ending and the food was out of this world! We were very sad to leave this absolute gem and can't wait to return next year! Thank you to everyone on the Nimmu team who made our stay such a warm and welcome one."

We absolutely loved Summertime and cannot wait to go back. The owners have spent a lifetime delivering amazing holiday experiences in India and it feels like they poured all their learning and experience into creating and running this idyllic house.

Jing’s Residence: "Level of service beyond compare"

Review by: ElaineEM | Source: Trip Advisor
We decided to splurge once on our trip to China and this was the place to do it. Imam, the Indonesian general manager, responded promptly to every email, accommodated us with early check in (6 AM) since the room was available (and even upgraded us) which was such a relief after the overnight train from Datong. He and his staff were there to greet us, settle us in and were there at every turn for advice, help and service. We borrowed their (free) bikes and went to the temple out of town and the local market outside the city walls. The restaurant provided delicious breakfasts and dinner. Imam was funny, friendly and made our stay. Highly recommended.

Don't hesitate to try the fusion cuisine, and enjoy the swimming pool area with a authentic via on the river mekong and its endless boat ballet, ride motorbike or bicycle in the coconut islands ... An home grown & authentic trip in the Mekong Delta!!!

Glenburn Tea Estate: "bliss"

Review by: leedsey | Source: Trip Advisor
We arrived at this beautiful place after a bumpy but breathtaking 6 hour drive from sikkim. . Faye, Will and Alex were there on the door step to greet us and we instantly felt like one of the family. The other guests were great fun..... mostly..... and it was really lovely to sit around the group table for dinner and listen to everyones travel stories. The food was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful staff. I have a fabulous massage in the little spa and the therapist eased away my aches and pains. Gin and tonics on the terrace overlooking the mountains and it really felt like a scene from Indian Summers. The rooms are gorgeous and after a week of homestays etc the beds were Bliss! There is a lot to do there and the staff are great at organising anything tailormade to suit your requirements. We went on to stay at the Tollygunge in Kolkata that they recommend and that was great in a completely different way. I could not recommend this wonderful hotel highly enough. i felt totally spoilt and loathe to leave Thanks again to Faye and the team for all their help. Room Tip: the one with the spanish wood four poster bed!

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Amazing people, amazing place!"

Review by: Tom B | Source: Trip Advisor
My wife and I visited in January, and Noel Rodrigo's Leopard Safari was our first stop in a week-long trip. After a 6 hour drive from Colombo, we were greeting at Camp with fresh towels, cocktails in the open air lobby, and then dinner under the stars. The food - wow, the food! - was delicious, the conversation with other guests enjoyable, and the service perfect. We did two game drives the next day and saw countless animals, including a leopard. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable about the animals, their habitat, questions we had, and more. The jeeps were well-stocked with snacks and sodas, and the food back at Camp between game drives - breakfast and lunch - was delicious. The curries, roti, and fruits were delicious. Lastly, we stayed in the standard tent the first night which was comfortable. I decided to upgrade to the luxury tent the second night to surprise my wife, and it is spectacular. Beautiful room, nicely decorated, and an A+. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Noel Rodrigo's Safari Camp to others looking to see Yala National Park and the infamous leopards.
