Tugu Malang: "Love this piece of Gem"

Review by: Jack H | Source: Trip Advisor
My second visit. Staff remembered and adressed me with my name. Arrived 5 mins to high tea but was accommodated. Rooms uniquely decorated. As the common room with peranakan-javanese style furnitures and paintings. ENJOYED SO MUCH....

Reverie Siam: "An experience to remember"

Review by: SWats47 | Source: Trip Advisor
Reverie Siam will always be a very special place for my mother and I. As soon as we arrived we were transported, this place is so much more than a hotel. Every detail has been thought about, the staff were always one step ahead of us. A special thank you to Mr Sabastian for making each night so lovely, we thank you for your talent and experience. To Toffy for your humor and care, we looked forward to seeing you every morning. There is no doubt we will be back to visit you again and will recommend this oasis to all the special people in our lives. Thank you!

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Amazing and unique"

Review by: Saroj A | Source: Trip Advisor
This is one of the best places we have stayed at. The Floating tents are so unique, in a very tranquil and beautiful location. Everything about it was different. We felt very special, as the service was very personal and nothing was too much trouble. The food and all amenities were very good. The 'swimming pool' is the river, which was brilliant as it was clean and calm with access from each tent. I just wished we had stayed longer. Thoroughly recommend this.

Tugu Bali: "Absolutely wonderful"

Review by: BKfromBK | Source: Trip Advisor
"An unforgettable stay. The staff is warm, friendly, beyond accommodating and truly gracious. The property is gorgeous — beginning with the stunning lobby that will make your jaw drop the moment you enter. Historic Balinese details are strewn throughout the decor, and the room we stayed in had the feel of a colonial-era suite. Comfortable and modern amenities (the bed is top notch!). The food was fantastic — our breakfasts, in particular, were always the perfect way to start the day. The area itself is a surfer community, so it's a little livelier (and younger) than other parts of Bali that we visited. The beach is nice, though not exactly low-key and relaxing (if you're a surfer, it'll be right up your alley). Some very nice restaurants, bars and boutiques within walking distance. Overall, we loved our time here. We can't say enough about the service and the friendliness of the staff/management. They took care of us in every way and we will most certainly be back the next time we're in Bali."

Mathis Retreat: "Peaceful and restful"

Review by: MalitaMelbourne | Source: Trip Advisor
"I really liked this hotel, we booked under the name Kenenga boutique hotel. The staff were amazing and called us by name from the start. The manager Karin, who is French, was very helpful in suggesting restaurants and tours to do. The place was very clean. Just a short ride into the city centre, $6 dollars Australian. Very cheap. The pool was amazing and very clean. Breakfast was a delight and you could have as much as you wanted, very generous. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food at the restaurant was very good. They would book a restaurant for you and call a taxi any time you needed one. I had a very enjoyable stay here and would highly recommend it. My only criticism is that the locks on the rooms were very hard to manage, maybe they should think about getting key cards. Also the towels were very thin and need replacing. I think they could also upgrade their sun beds or put padding on them as a little too thin for my liking. But these are minor things. Over all it was a very pleasant stay."

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Absolutely Fabulous"

Review by: smartie_7 | Source: Trip Advisor
"After travelling around for a few days it was wonderful to arrive at Glenburn to a very warm welcome from Faye, Will and Alex. The bumpy drive down adds to the excitement of your arrival at this beautiful working tea estate. Our room, Planters, was colonial luxury with a huge comfortable bed and a little sitting room off the back with stunning views of kanchenchunga when the clouds lifted. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the group guest dinners were great fun and a chance to make new friends and meet interesting people, although you can dine in private if you wish to do so. Breakfast was also delicious as was the tea and cake served in the afternoons. Snacks are available throughout the day but as the meals are so generous we could not have eaten another thing. A free laundry service was very welcome after our travels and it was great to continue on our trip with clean clothes and after a relaxing massage in the spa. A walk around the plantation is a must as it is not only scenic but informative. We were disapointed not to visit the local school supported by Glenburn but it was holidays for them so maybe next time as I would love to stay at Glenburn again. Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful."

Nam Bo Boutique Hotel: "Refreshing surprise"

Review by: Lune14 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I spent only a few hours in this hotel, having spent the day on a long tour of the Mekong and leaving quite early the morning after. I was the only person in the tour to stay in this hotel, thanks to my travel agent, and can't describe how happy I was to get here extremely tired and find this gem. What was so good? A friendly reception, a quaint room with a separate sitting area, a nice shower, and a prime location overlooking the river promenade. Lots of locals walking in the promenade at night and the nearby restaurants and cafes, but it wont be noisy when you go to sleep as it quiets down. I had a very good night sleep here. In line with the French owners, this hotel has a great rooftop restaurant serving both French and local cuisine. After 2 weeks of purely local food Was happy to enjoy some familiar french dishes. A la carte breakfast was also great, and thank God there was real orange juice! When you do this tour you hardly ever stay in the city, as early next morning you go to the floating markets (a good experience, but nothing special). I wish I could have stayed here longer or maybe another night. This hotel was on oasis!"

THE ISLAND LODGE: "FANTASTIC"

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "A Quality Experience in all Respects"

Review by: KiwiCriticDunedin | Source: Trip Advisor
"Experience on safari in other parts of the world has taught us that you generally get what you pay for, and so we booked at the top end for two nights in Yala, with Noel Rodrigo’s highly respected operation. Noel, Cecile and the rest of the team were welcoming, gracious and knowledgeable hosts, and highly professional in every aspect of the business. Meals were a treat both for the food (the Sri Lankan dinner being better than the western barbecue one, and lunches stunning) and conversation with our hosts and fellow guests. Pre-dinner drinks were likewise great, and the staff were so good at getting everyone engaged in the conversations, whether they were young kids, reticent teenagers, or adults. Our tents were carefully set-up and very comfortable, and the public lounge area was a fine place to sit and read. Our safari vehicles were also well-set-up. But let’s face it, one visits Yala to see animals and birds. Spotted deer and birds aside, wildlife in Yala is not plentiful in the sense that it is on the plains of the big African game parks; but having to work a little harder to spot game makes the experience more rewarding in many ways. The first of our four game drives provided us with two excellent leopard sightings. The next morning we were lucky enough to see sloth bear (mother and cub). Add in the elephant, crocodiles, water buffalo, barking deer, sambar deer, mongoose – plus other animal species and all manner of birds – seen over the four game drives, and we left Yala well-satisfied. We would recommend a minimum two night stay, both to provide a good chance of seeing a wide range of birds and animals and to settle into the rhythm of camp life."

Glenburn Tea Estate: "An outstanding very special place to stay"

Review by: GS64 | Source: Trip Advisor
This is probably one of the very best hotels we have stayed in anywhere. The location is magical (although be prepared for a very rough road to get there for about the last 40 minutes) and the ambience is particularly special. We could not have been better looked after by the staff who were attentive, efficient and friendly. Meals were quite superb, amongst the very best we had in India. William and Faye are excellent hosts and keep a watchful eye to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. I recommend it very highly indeed.
