"We really had great time in Island Lodge. It deserves its name of ""secret retreat"". The location is amazing and totally surprising. The hosts really welcoming. They have decorated all the rooms and hotel with great taste. We highly recommend the boat and bike tour that give you unique experience of Mekong Delta. We took the one night cruise on Bassac 2. The programme is lunch and afternoon cruise, visit to local village, dinner and evening cruise to anchorage, breakfast and morning cruise to disembarkation point with visit to floating market and noodle making. For us this was a perfect itinerary and duration and a great insight into life in this enormous and important area of Vietnam. The food, particularly lunch was fantastic. Continental breakfast also had hot food. The boat is a joy with plenty of seating space even though the boat was full. "Spent 5 nights here with our two kids (aged 2.5 and 9months) and thoroughly recommend it. Spacious rooms, beautiful views overlooking the rice fields, great pool, good food. Far enough away from downtown Ubud, but close enough to get there when needed. Staff couldn't have been nicer, and were more than happy to whisk our kids away to play - allowing us to relax at the end of meals. Thoroughly recommended. "David’s Kitchen: "Memorable evening"
Three of us had an exceptional dinner at David's Kitchen where the service was superb, the meals delicious and the evening one which we will long remember. The warm and personal welcome we received from David was the beginning of a wonderful time. The menu was extensive and everything looked so appetizing that we couldn't decide what to choose. But the lamb shank, pork loin and pumpkin soup were done beautifully and served by an attentive, friendly staff. We look forward to going back when we are in Chiang Mai again. We can not say enough about this excellent hotel, had the best of food, service, rooms, views but the arrival into it is simply stunning Tucked away from the main lake, on its own part of the lake is a peaceful set up Highly recommended4 rivers: "Absolutely beautiful place, such an unusual but wonderful stay"
"The setting is spectacular. It feels so remote. Although the accommodation is canvas, it is so well equipped inside it was better than some hotel rooms we'd had. Proper flushing loo and double hand basins with a lovely shower. There was no kettle in the room but the staff would bring some hot drinks over if requested. The staff were generally very friendly and helpful, it was a homely, welcoming feel. The food was excellent, and the day trips are really worthwhile. There is no wi if but its sometimes nice just to read and relax, the hotel provide DVDs as there is no cable for TV programmes, very much a get away from it all place. Over a 3 week Cambodia / Laos holiday in such a selection of hotels, this one really stands out. It is very close to the jungle so there needs to be some common sense re mosquitos etc but it really is worth a visit. "A good place to stay with friends or a family. I lived in the house for 6-8 guests. Rooms are airy. A peaceful and very quiet hotel for a relaxing vacation. Nice food, wide list of beverages. Comfortable bed. Private water pool, CCTV cameras. There are no TV, hair dryer. WI-FI is slowly. I would be happy to live there again! Villa Song Saigon: "Just magic"
To be honest, i couldn't wait to write a review for this place. It was simply wonderful. Right by the river, all day breakfast, comfiest beds ever, amazing staff and an all round warm fuzzy vibe. Every night a member of staff would come and deliver complimentary slices of cake... such a lovely touch! There are free bus and boat rides into the city at various times each day, it only takes about 20 minutes. Theres a pool and gym along with a day spa to make your stay homey. In the end it all came down to the staff, they're all so helpful and happy that is was impossible to have a bad time. 5 stars!maisons war kor: "“Fabulous stay”"
"Although a little further away from Battambang (around 2km) than other hotels, the beautiful surroundings, well-appointed rooms and excellent food are well worth it. The staff are lovely and extremely helpful. We were there to celebrate a 60th birthday and they arranged dessert with candles and sang happy birthday! We had a great tour of all the sights around Battambang with Mr Dan the tuk tuk driver, arranged by the hotel. Also, we had a cookery class in the restaurant just for two of us which was a great experience. Thank you for a brilliant stay."
