Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Beautiful retreat, great staff, fabulous food!"
The Hermitage is that rare perfect mix of relaxation & activities . The spa is second to none, but also be sure to do the free yoga each morning at 8am- and book a package to include meditation and extra yoga if you can. Go to the temple trip one evening and also the plantation walk.Misool Eco Resort: "Very special place"
Just spent 9 days diving at MER. It is a bit of a trek to get to but well worth it. Don't hesitate to go. It is an extremely special place. Apart from the lovely friendly staff, great food and relaxing accommodation all made from recycled wood, the conservation work they are doing is extremely special. Make sure to attend the presentations in the Dive Centre on Mantas and the building of Misool Eco Resort, very interesting. We had great vis most of the time. The highlight had to be Magic Mountain where we had a magical encounter with 6 mantas who stayed around the whole dive and performed for us. Other favourite dives included Nudi Rock, Fiabacet and Wedding Cake. (...) A special thanks to the managers, Sue and Mark who's hospitality and personal service was wonderful. What enjoyable evenings we had chatting with them and the other great guests we shared the island with that week. We also had the honor of being the first guests in their new coffee shop which is located in front of Sorong airport. It is sure to be a great success. Tastefully done and makes a great departure lounge. The MER staff went and checked us in while we sipped coffee and browsed for last minute memorabilia. Then, half hour before the flight we were transported to the airport and walked straight through and onto our plane.Villa Song Saigon: "Great location and the service is first class"
"This hotel worked perfectly for us as a final day/night before flying home. It is a high end boutique hotel, at a good price, in a quiet location right by the water's edge. eating out by the water was very relaxing and although the hotel is on the opposite bank from the main tourist area you can have the best of both worlds as their boat service enabled you to easily cross over with the benefit of a free river tour...The rooms are of a very high standard and the icing on the cake was the standard of service. Whoever we talked to from the staff couldn't have been trying harder to help us. Additionally we had a very late flight out in the evening. They tried very hard to accommodate us having a room for an extended period. When this wouldn't work, as they were full, they provided us showers and access to a room to change in. You can't ask for more and if in Ho Chi Minh City again we will definitely be back. Thank you for making the end to our holiday so good. "Muang La Lodge: "Something quite special"
"We visited out of season and were the only guests in the resort. We were welcomed by Mr. Xay, the assistant manager, who in the absence of the manager, was running the resort. Both he and his team were absolutely excellent. Although it is likely a lot of the staff were local villagers we had no problems with communication. The rooms are big and very comfortable, they are set around the large gardens some with a balcony view of the river . The swimming pool is set on an island situated in the middle of the river reached via a wobbly bridge. The pool has it's own bar area, which also has cooking facility for light meals. There is a hot tub fed by a natural hot spring. My wife had a massage, which she said was very good. We took one of their excursions , a 4x4 into the hills walking in the forest followed by an excellent packed lunch, which we ate in one of the villages. The guide on this was superb, it involved crossing several streams ;he cut me a bamboo pole to help.We were introduced to, ate and survived, a lot of vegetation we had not come across before The food in the resort was some of the most enjoyable we had in S.E. Asia, eaten outside overlooking the river. An evening 5 course set menu. The Laos beer is good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was excellent with freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolate eggs etc. We were sorry to leave and we are grateful to Mr.Xay and all his courteous, efficient and thoughtful staff for looking after us so well."Sea Dance Resort: "Far from the crowds but close to everything. A beautiful, peaceful, friendly boutique resort"
Sea Dance Resort is a newer property near Choeng Mon town, a less crowded area of the island. It is close to the airport but out of its flight path so it is convenient but very quiet. My two, twenty-something daughters and I were ending our two week trip to Thailand and Siem Reap here and wanted an uncrowded, peaceful place to relax before we headed home. We found just what we were looking for at Sea Dance and spent four nights there. We loved our pristine pool villa as well as the resort's infinity pool and bar. The beach is absolutely beautiful there with plenty of covered and uncovered seating. The place is simply gorgeous, but it is the staff that make a stay there so unforgettable. Art, Faith, Helen, Ping at front desk (may have name wrong), Danny, Kwan and Gome couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. Kwan and Gome helped find my daughters when their paddle boats drifted beyond our line of sight! By the end of four days there we felt like we were leaving our family. This boutique hotel is luxurious without being ostentatious. The staff is genuinely friendly and sincere. I would go back in a heartbeat!Rachamankha: "Oasis in the midst of Old City"
Your stay in Chiang Mai will be very special when you stay at Rachamankha. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, gorgeous antiques abound throughout, and the guest rooms are spacious and well designed. There is a huge pool with beautiful blue tile, a library offering books as well as brandy, and a restaurant that offers wonderful Asian and Western dishes. The property provides a very peaceful and tranquil environment and children are not allowed as guests to maintain the ambiance for adults. There is a large DVD library available for free viewing. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Please note, it may be hard for taxi drivers to find as it is on a small lane/alleyway - my first driver had to call the hotel 4 times before finally finding it! But it was well worth the effort.Amata Lanna: "Lovely little oasis in the city"
My husband and I are staying here currently for 4 nights, this being our last and we have really enjoyed our stay. It’s really does feel like a little oasis in amongst the hustle and bustle of the city. There aren’t many rooms so it has a lovely boutique feel to it with lovely plants and trees. The staff are really helpful and friendly. It’s in a great location to the markets and old city. Everything is within walking distance or a short car journey. Lovely restaurants near by as well. Would highly recommend this hotel.Jings Residence: "Clear winner"
"In 5 weeks of travel across mainland China, this is the standout, hands down, fantastic winner. The staff, guided by the competent and gracious host, Imam, are truly unique for their hospitality within China. Everything was meticulously prepared and organized, from check in to tea service to additional activities within the hotel. Keep up the great work and the friendly hospitality."The Cabochon Hotel: "Quite an experience – highly reccomendable"
"We found this unique hotel to be in a good part of Bangkok. Close to the Skytrain that connects you to most of the city and to/from the Airport. Very helpfull staff and overall great service level. As this is a boutique hotel with very few rooms, you really feel you get special attention. Nice rooms, with beautiful decor and a nice bathroom. Our room also featured a pleasant balcony (free minibar and fresh fruit daily by the way! Good breakfast as well) We especially liked the roof top terrasse with the large swimmingpool and stunning views of the city. A+ experience and highly reccomendable for those seeking a luxury feeling at very resonable rates."Sanak Retreat Bali: "The best of Bali Paradise"
What a treat! We feel so lucky that we stumbled upon the Sanak and booked a villa. Set in the midst of rice paddies that stretch as far as the eye can see lies this unassuming beautiful retreat. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa which allowed us to have an amazing view of the sunrise AND sunset. The villa was calming, beautifully designed and beyond comfortable. The best bed of our 2 week trip! The restaurant had amazing food, great prices and a staff that was attentive and super friendly. The activities offered were a great value and very diverse from traditional Bali to tourist activities. We could not want for more. Lina, the ground manager, was amazing and super helpful with anything you needed. The best thing to do was literally sitting by the pool with fresh juice and a book hearing the sounds of nature and chanting in the far off distance. The retreat truly was just that, a retreat. The pricing was more than fair for the value you received and the location is amazing, remote yet easy to get to from Ubud (about 1.5 hour drive). We can not say enough about this place, it is a GREAT place to spend some time in Bali. The only negative was that we wish we stayed longer!!
