Satri House: "Practically perfect in every way"

Review by: GSL68 | Source: tripadvisor.com
This hotel embodies the Luang Prabang vibe of tranquillity and charm. A small collection of two storey buildings, almost invisible from the road, close enough to the centre that you can easily walk or take one of the hotel bikes (no charge) to get to the main sites, but feels like an oasis of calm, with a couple of nice little swimming pools to cool off in after a hot day visiting temples (or whatever). Spacious, attractive rooms, tastefully furnished. Exceptionally comfortable beds. The breakfast is something to look forward to in itself - great coffee, delicious pastries, perfectly cooked eggs - all appearing minutes after you've ordered. Friendly, helpful staff. I'm rarely this gushing about a hotel but there's nothing not to like about Satri House.

Reverie Siam: "Incredible day and night"

Review by: Gina S | Source: Trip Advisor
"My boyfriend surprised me with a night at this beautiful place for our anniversary. I cannot quite begin to describe how amazing it is! The whole resort is decorated in a gorgeous 1920's pastel theme. We stayed in a private villa, the bed was incredibly soft and comfy, the bathroom was enormous with a great shower and we even had our own private jacuzzi! The staff were so friendly and attentive, never letting our wine glasses become empty. The food was outstanding, we ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant- the tapas is beautiful and my lamb shank at dinner was cooked to perfection. They have a bar down by the river which was my favourite aspect of the whole resort, at night the entire bar and garden was lit up with hundreds of tiny fairy lights, it really was beautiful. We spent the day by the pool which was gorgeous and tranquil. The only tiny downside is that I think there may have been slight drainage problems-the drain by the toilet in our bathroom smelled quite bad and ended up making the entire villa smell a bit funny. This was only a small issue though, and I absolutely cannot fault anything else. Thank you so much to the team for making our stay so special, I will never forget it. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"

Manda De Laos: "My best dining experience for 2017"

Review by: Noel D | Source: Trip Advisor
"Seated outside next to the lotus ponds with the floodlit garden is an experience in itself. Next there is the cheerful service & attention to detail & you have added to that experience before you even consider the fabulous food. Simple things such as a fire bucket beside the table on a cold night, the small, heated dish to keep your Laos sausage entre warm & assistance with any request also made it special. I will not describe the great food we had but I thought the rice pudding with condiments was an imaginative twist on an otherwise somewhat bland pudding -- you add any or all of the 6 condiments to come up with the desert that suits you. It all added up to an exceptional night out."

Dewakan: "Three Stars or 3 Hats….. in our books"

Review by: Ines A | Source: Trip Advisor
"""The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply"" - Kahlil Gibran. This perfectly sums up what Darren Teoh and his team at Dewakan are doing. I profess guilty to being surrounded with these wonderful ingredients and yet be clueless as to their potential. Darren is taking these humble ingredients, injecting playful creativity and reintroducing them into the fore where they belong. Here one can expect to have boundaries challenged, pushed and yet moulded into familiarity. In this off the beaten path kitchen, flavours and textures are being routinely forged. Whilst I appreciate that everyone has their own personal opinion of good food, I suggest preconceptions be left at the door. This is my second visit to Dewakan and once again I leave in awe of mother natures bounty in the hands of a true maestro. "

Locavore: "What an unexpected surprise!"

Review by: luethiandy | Source: Trip Advisor
"We got the recommendation from a friend of us and as we stayed for a view days we wanted to check it out ourselves for lunch. The Restaurant is pretty small (make your Reservation well in advance!) but tastefully decorated, with very friendly and attentive staff looking after us. For the Food you can either choose a vegetarian or conventional menu, which starts with a few Amuse Bouche, followed by the courses from the menu. The taste of the Food, the creativity and ingredients used for the dishes and the presentation of the meal was outstanding! We were so positively surprised by this meal and the Restaurant as a whole that we can't wait to be back. Many thanks"

Glenburn Tea Estate: "A peaceful magical getaway"

Review by: karenmulla | Source: Trip Advisor
"We were 4 families that stayed in Glenburn Tea Estate for 4 days from 26 th Dec to 30th Dec 2015. It was a SUPERB holiday. The property is awesome... Both the colonial bungalows are tastefully furnished.....we were blessed with clear skies on all the days and thus we were awed by the magnificent views of the Himalayas, of course the highlight being the Kanchenjunga....you feel one with nature here... The rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious. They've retained their old world charm. The food was great with a different cuisine being served everyday. Breakfast and lunch in the outdoors and dinner in a beautiful dining room. They even organised a lovely bonfire for us one evening! Faye and Will are lovely hosts. The staff which includes their guides, drivers, cooks, housekeeping staff... Just about everyone are fabulous. The personal attention to detail was impressive. The service faultless!!!! We spent our days hiking, fishing and just languishing on the verandah or the gardens absorbing the gorgeous view and the tranquility of Glenburn. Both our hikes, one to the suspension bridge to Sikkim and the other to the campsite at the river followed by a barbecue lunch and a game of cricket were great. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Anshuman and Husna Tara Prakash while we were in residence. They are a super couple and their all round supervision and dedication to maintaining the high standards is evident when one talks to them. The roads to and around the tea estate are bumpy but once there it is PARADISE ON EARTH. We are all looking forward to returning to Glenburn soon. A must visit for families, friends, couples or even solo travellers. Stayed December 2015, traveled with friends"

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Beautiful, Calm and Relaxing"

Review by: KhanMohammed | Source: Trip Advisor
"Stayed here with family in the second week of May. Though not the best period to visit this place (it being peak summer).....we had initially planned for 2 Nights, but then extended our stay by one more Night. We had booked 7 villas and everyone of us had a wonderful time. Firstly, thanks to Allaah, who made this possible. He is the best of planners. The property is just beautiful, with well designed villas, top class hygiene and very warm and courteous staff. Everyone, right from Front Desk, House Keeping to the Restaurant are very courteous and friendly. And the F&B Manager and the GM go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. Look forward to visit again, Inshaa Allaah - (God Willing)."

Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Wonderful food, setting & service"

Review by: Rob S | Source: Trip Advisor
Don't know why this is not No. 1 restaurant in Siem Reap. Have been 3 times in last 5 months and tried many other upmarket restaurants, this is by far the best. Flavours of Cambodian food explode in your mouth in a wonderful tasting presentation by the French chef. Other Cambodian restaurants try and some are very good but this is miles ahead of all others. Can't wait to go back.

Rachamankha: "Charming hotel"

Review by: beilene1 | Source: tripadvisor.com
Rachamankha is a charming hotel with a friendly knowledgable staff and excellent service. The ensuite rooms are well appointed with lovely antiques, are air conditioned and the bathrooms have plenty of hot water. There is also an excellent restaurant that serves Thai and western fare. The hotel has a great pool which is wonderful after a hot day of sightseeing. The hotel is also an easy walk to the Sunday night market. If you are coming to Chiangmai I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Samanea Beach Resort: "Perfect for a relaxing getaway"

Review by: MJanssen1 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed at Samanea for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The resort is spacious, with a large swimming pool and a private beach. The villas are quite big, with a private patio and an outdoor shower and bath, which I really liked. The restaurant was good, we had daily breakfast and a few times lunch and dinner during our stay. I would say that Samanea is ideally located for a relaxing getaway, it's not in the center of town, but privately located at the edge of Kep. Still within walking distance to the crab market and to the Kep National Park, or alternatively the hotel can call a tuk tuk for your convenience. We'll be back!"
