Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Incredibly outstanding, as always!"
The owners Carole and Johannes are incredible. The staff incredibly professional. The food... Mind blowing and completely unlike anywhere else in the world! Extremely innovative menu. If you find yourself in Siem Reap, do yourself a favour and book in here (in advance due to its understandable popularity). The best meals I have eaten in all of Asia!Villa Song Saigon: "Refined Classical Quality"
This is a beautiful relaxed elegant property with excellent happy staff who are eager to please. Yega and his staff will make your dining and excursions seamless and we can't wait to return again and enjoy this haven of oriental tranquilitytugu bali: "High quality hotel with strong historical identity"
"We enjoyed very much Tugu Hotel for the beginning of our honeymoon with my wife, through a three nights stay. The particularity of Tugu Hotel is that it is also a kind of museum with valuable and well designed pieces of furniture, decorations and paintings. Rooms are like small houses with an internal private courtyard and a swimming pool. The garden is also well designed with nice statues coming from ages. The staff is nice: everyone in the hotel knew our names since the beginning for instance. "Mudanwan Villa: "養生休憩之旅"
"沒想過在台灣也可以有這麼靜謐的享受! 在villa裡就能享受室內、室外兩種溫泉。此外也可以在湖畔邊發呆、釣魚或是沈靜在牡丹書房裡。 Stayed June 2016, traveled with family"Sanak Retreat Bali: "No shopping, no need to go out to eat, just stay here and relax"
"We were so happy with our time here - five nights in such a remote location might not appeal to all, but we loved it. After a long drive from the airport (unfortunately on a holiday Sunday which extended the time), we were charmed by our greeting. Although we'd booked a one bedroom villa, we were delighted to be given a two bedroom with a choice of a king size bed both upstairs and downstairs - or we could pick and choose! We also had a choice of three balconies to sit on - to watch the sunrise or sunset if we wished. The rooms are very comfortable - deliberately not with every 5 star inclusion - but we found out that if we lacked something we could request it and it was willingly provided. All rooms are furnished with Balinese art and objects and most are available for purchase (good if you miss the shops!). The spa also has a great range of desirable objects for purchase. Talking of the spa, I managed to fit in 4 treatments and was lucky enough to find Wayan for my first and then book In with him again. He is a wonderful intuitive masseur and had a good insight into the treatment that was best for me and also gave me some practical advice. In fact, I enjoyed my treatments in Sanak so much (this included a facial on my last day), that I cancelled the massage I'd booked in Ubud and don't feel the need for any more at the moment. Maybe I'll change when we move to Seminyak later this week! We took two of the tours offered by Sanak - one was a trek with a local guide - around the nearby village and then down to the waterfall for a swim. If I'd realized this involved hundreds of steps down a steep path (my husband tells me I'm exaggerating), I probably wouldn't have done it! However, our guide, Arca, constantly helped me down stony steps and across streams patiently holding my hand tightly. It is a beautiful waterfall and refreshing, unfortunately there had been a lot of rain the previous night, so the climb was a bit slippery too, and also the rocks around the waterfall were still wet so there was nowhere to sit and difficult to change in and out of our costumes on such rocky ground. Arca carried towels and water for us, which was great. We also took a tour with Giusti - very knowledgeable and personable - we chose to visit the hot springs ((public baths), the Buddhist temple and then Lovina beach. We bought delicious fish & chips from the Buda Bakery at Lovina and sat with Giusti on the black sand to watch the sunset and the full moon come out. The food at Sanak was excellent and well priced, and we didn't mind at all that we couldn't visit a different restaurant every night. There are a few dishes you need to order 24 hours in advance and we can particularly recommend them - the Balinese duck and another chicken dish - they were both excellent. Breakfast is generous although the service could be a little more leisurely in such a tranquil setting. Sebastian, ably helped by Neni, heads up a great team and all the staff are charming and extremely helpful including purchasing some local goods on our behalf. Our farewell was as warm as our welcome and we do hope to return there one day."Cuca: "Excellent food"
Tapas style food, full of flavor and amazing combinations. Excellent place to dine with family or friends with amazing service and excellent pricesInle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Amazing social impact work and experience"
"Reflecting on the amazing past weeks in Myanmar. I arrived enamored by the strength of its people (especially its women) amidst its sour history of civil war and political unrest. I leave impressed by people and organizations like Yin Myo Su and Inle Heritage who have a vision that holds in balance the need to have Myanmar operate on a global platform but done in a way that preserves and cherishes its rich heritage, culture and environment. After three days of social impact workshops, we are excited by the thoughtful and intentional process that Inle Heritage Foundation and its team are making in using ecotourism as a powerful tool for good. Inle Heritage not only role models what a social business can operate like in Myanmar, but also trains its people to think differently, be curious, and challenge prevailing status quos, while also advocating for the preservation of the rich heritage and ecosystem endemic of the Inle Lake region. Thank you for your immense hospitality Missu, you and your team are an inspiration! We look forward to keeping in touch and following your social change progress!"Cuca: "Wonderful dining experience with superb service"
One of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've ever had. You can sit inside or outside in the beautiful and spacious garden. There are also limited says available looking directly into the kitchen where you can see e chefs preparing. We chose the chefs selection menu and found that all the dishes were delicious, and very well presented. The real highlight for myself, and for my girlfriend who doesn't care for seafood was the smoked butterfish - make sure you try this it's unbelievable. The meat and potatoes dish, which is essentially a dressed up shepherds pie, is the real surprise. I've eaten many in my time but none so rich and warming as this. Seasoned absolutely perfectly. The desserts are also very good and the cocktails are incredible! They do double measures of each one which really made me happy! Finally the superb service of the ultra friendly staff has to be noted - from the moment we stepped in- and to when our waiter escorted us to our taxi outside. A memorable evening.Tugu Lombok: "Never been anywhere like this before"
My wife and I loved it. It was like being welcomed back to the family home that I never grew up in. The delicious food, the quiet pools, the sunrise over the beach. I write from Villa 2 dreading having to check out in 4 hours. We spent three beautiful nights here. Our daughter was treated like royalty, given a crown and sceptre made from leaves. The pools with green tiles are beautiful and luxurious and as we floated together in the tranquil surroundings all thoughts about the rest of the world disappeared. We ate mahi mahi and lobster on a bamboo bed lit by candles and decorated with ketupat. If you can come here, please do. You will remember it forever.Rachamankha: "Our Third Stay And It Keeps Getting Better"
"The key to this 24 room gem is tranquility and solitude. The owner has this down to a science. The staff are quiet but friendly if you want them to be. The service is impeccable. The Rachamankha is an oasis of calm. Not a good venue for a family with pre teens. We upgraded to a deluxe room this time from a superior room. Was a lovely experience."
