Tugu Bali: "Hidden paradise"
Tugu Bali is a magical place, with fabulous staff and great food. Breakfast is exquisite! Everything makes you feel as a guest in a large warm welcoming house and not like a standard hotel guest. This was the second time my wife and i spent a few days and we will gladly return to enjoy the peaceful rest and the nice massages. A place to bring your loved ones!Mathis Retreat: "A lush oasis"
"Loved my stay at Mathis Retreat. A little bit removed from the hustle and bustle of Ubud town centre, it was the perfect place to relax after days spent travelling and exploring. From the leisurely breakfasts over looking the verdant rice fields, to the spacious room (Garden Bungalow) and of course the friendly staff, it ticked all the boxes. The room itself was airy and spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom reasonably large. Only complaint was the positioning of the power points, which meant devices could be charged or used, but not both at the same time. It would be helpful to have accessible power points near the bedside tables. The breakfast food options were plentiful, and I appreciated the fresh fruit juices and homemade jams. Recommend the pineapple pancakes, if you choose the Western breakfast option, but even better was the vegetarian nasi goreng. The vegetarian dinner options were a bit limited which was a bit disappointing. The staff were really lovely and it was nice to be welcomed by the owner, made the experience a little more personal than the usual hotel stay. The wifi connection was good and the free shuttle service was easy to use, making short work of the trip to and from the town centre. It may be a bit pricier than some of the hotels closer to the town centre, but it was definitely worth! Would definitely stay here again if ever in Ubud."The Apsara Rive Droite: "Excellent for a very reasonable price"
"I am a creature of habits so I return to places I like. It was great to see The Apsara still going strong. It has been spruce up a big, not that it needed to (aircon in my favourite room, number 7, changed and quieter). This is a truly boutique hotel, located in the heard of the UNESCO designated area and a short walk to everything. Staff is excellent, but as expected in Lao, English can be challenging, which is part of the charm. Any issues in respect of reservation, tours are sorted out by Loun, the experienced and knowledgeable front office manager. Rooms are enormous and have a very Indochina feeling to them. Breakfast is lovely. An excellent and well know restaurant with a lovely bar is located here. A truly delight to return. Stayed October 2016, traveled solo"Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "A beautiful and serene resort for peace- and nature-loving travelers"
"We just returned from a 4-nights stay at the beautiful Rice & Zen resort in Doi Saket district, which is no more than 30km away from the Chiang Mai international airport. Our host, Michael, who is also a resident on the resort is very welcoming and warm. We could see that he runs this resort with great passion and drive. The property is extremely lovely. We booked the entire property for our family of 4, and we practically had the entire place to ourselves! The rooms were clean daily and well maintained, with the usual amenities expected of any upmarket resort. The only swimming pool on the resort is cleaned every morning and it feels so good to be able to dip into the pool to beat the tropical heat. And if swimming is not your cup of tea, there's always the gym and beautifully manicured garden and ponds to keep you occupied. Delicious meals are prepared and served by Maya, the resident chef. And if you're into Thai cuisine, the food is no less than scrumptious than what you can find in the restaurants. Michael and his staff will be most happy to recommend other restaurants in the vicinity should you want to venture out to try other fares. Trips to Chiang Mai city can also be arranged for a small transportation fee. Overall, we had a most pleasant and relaxing stay and we highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan city life."Mie Cafe: "Amazing food and service"
I came here for lunch by myself and was amazed by the pleasant environment. I sat at the garden and the staff nicely put 2 fans facing me. The food was great - I had beef tartare which was marinated with local herbs and topped with plenty of parmesan cheese. I also had the fish amok which is a classic Khmer dish. The meal was ended with a homemade vanilla ice-cream. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!JL Studio: "Artistic cuisine"
Each dish wobble plate, decoration, flavors, both with artistic, aesthetic and both the color, flavor and taste of the food, service personnel and then by commentary and explain the story, so every food, moving and full of praise. JL plus uphold let everything that can make people eat meals together have different levels of taste and delicious food will make people more reluctant to swallow stomach, but slowly and enjoy the taste of which different feelings, well worth to experience and enjoy the incomparable honorSupanniga Eating Room: "Nice atmosphere with great service"
Nice food! And drinks! With a great service staff from the restaurant, and a very conducive environment for gatherings, a must go place for a catch-up for friends and families.Satri House: "Great hotel"
"We just returned from a 5 day family trip staying at Satri House. We had a great stay. The pool was perfect for our little girl, as the temperature this time of year gets pretty high. We eat in the hotel restaurant for most of our meals. I must say the Laos food was outstanding. The staff were brilliant throughout the whole hotel. Yes it was noisy with all the New year celebrations, but for residents to complain about this is pretty silly. I can guarantee there's pretty much music playing all over town, and its time for all the great people of Laos to celebrate and cool down with plenty of water fights. Thanks again. Gareth, Selene, Carol and Josie"Sukoon Houseboat: "Wonderful relaxing experience"
The Sukoon houseboat is a super luxurious and comfortable houseboat. We had a wonderful time. The staf is super, very helpful and were really taking super good care of us. The breakfast on the sundeck was an absolute highlight. This houseboat is a bit away from the overcrowded part of the lake so you can really enjoy the beatiful view on the lake at sunset and sunrise!Sea Dance Resort: "Very nice upmarket resort with personalized service"
This is a beautiful small resort with cozy villas with pool or jaccuzzi. Very personalized service by the team and the owner himself. We had a great time there and really enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended!
