Very attractive lodge with a wonderful view of the mountains weather permitting. Arrived here after a 4 day trek and it was heaven to enjoy a hot shower, delicious meal and very comfortable room. Very attentive staff providing a great welcome and stay.Amata Lanna: "Great boutique hotel"
Awesome hotel with a really amazing staff that makes you feel welcome from the time you walk in. Rooms were very cozy and we enjoyed the nice firm bed! Close to the night bazar and city center. The staff also helped with taxi's and suggested a great spa that offered free transport! Overall a great time at the Amata LannaINLE PRINCESS RESORT: "Amazing Inle Lake"
"This hotel was pretty special, we had a chalet style room with a verandah overlooking the lake with sun loungers, chairs and table. The room was excellent and the bathroom had ""his & her"" wash basins, a bath and an outside shower. There was a good restaurant, bar and swimming pool and we arrived by boat being rowed by the distinctive local leg rowing method. We only spent one night here, which is what we would recommend. Our room was facing the water, spacious, clean, stylish and well equipped. You have to eat at the hotel as there is no other choice, but the meal was good and service excellent. It is located close to a village famed for its pottery manufacture. A highlight for me was the superb homemade croissants and bread at breakfast. Please note there is no WiFi.David’s Kitchen: "Warm welcome and excellent food"
Just wonderful. Made a last minute booking and they were able to squeeze in myself and my girlfriend the next day. (I'd advise planning ahead, you might not be so lucky.) We were warmly welcomed by every member of the staff we encountered, and David himself stopped by our table near the beginning and end of our meal to have a chat and ask us what brought us to Chiang Mai in general and the restaurant in particular. Friendly, gracious and genuinely interested. The staff pulled off the rare trick of being super attentive and friendly while remaining casual. As for the food, we had the Japanese pumpkin veloute, spicy raw salmon, pomelo salad, wagyu beef cheeks and lobster in wine. All delicious and paired nicely with wines suggested by our waiter. At the end of the night they presented my girlfriend with a bouquet of roses to congratulate us on our engagement (there's a section on the online reservation form for special occasions -- nice touch). "After our initial plans to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary fell through, we were immensely grateful that David's Kitchen could not only accommodate us last minute, but make the night so special with those little extra touches..table decorations, anniversary card and flowers. The food was wonderful! Atmosphere perfect, from the moment we drove into the parking lot. The menu was extensive, with so many wonderful things to choose from. What a special and unique place to stay. Amazing high ceilings and fabulous architecture. VERY hot water in the shower and the nicest linen I’ve slept on in a long time. Breakfast was delicious. Didn’t eat other meals in the hotel but the menu looked great. The pool is in a sweet back garden which we had all to ourselves. No good for exercise but perfect for dipping, splashing and cooling off. Well located for a wonder to Love Lane and a gentle walk home after too much hawker food. I love this place. Staff were friendly and helpful but their English (although infinitely better than my Malay) not great.Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Champagne and snow"
"This place is an absolute must. Chef Ton is a magician, he gave me 3 types of watermelon as an amuse bouche. I tasted sea bass with lime snow( Devine) There were oyster sabayons,pickled gourd,river prawns and everything was cooked with a light modern touch and confidence. The service was smooth, and slick.Every dish and wine was fully explained. The decor is minimal, the location is down a small alley next door to namsooth bottling plant. "Located on a beautiful stretch of beach, the Hermitage is perfect for a relaxed stay. The staff is excellent - very courteous, attentive & helpful. It was a pleasure to be able to have all our meals by the ocean as one of the restaurants is on the beach. We had a very large room & a gorgeous open-to-sky bathroom. Definitely going back! Stayed December 2016, traveled with family"
