MAISONS WAT KOR: "Great stay in a wonderful setting"

Review by: MJanssen1 | Source: tripadvison.com
"What a beautiful resort. We had the pleasure of staying here over Khmer New Year and had a wonderful time. The room is very spacious and overlooks the lotus pond. The pool is quite big, considering the size of the resort. The location is about 2km from the city center. As it was Khmer New Year most of the establishment in the center were closed, so we had lunch and dinner at the resort. The daily changing 3-course lunch and 4-course dinner are definitely recommended! The staff is very attentive and friendly and overall I would recommend everyone to stay here when travelling to Battambang. "

Inle Princess Resort: "An idyllic resort in a quiet spot"

Review by: feickertd | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is a beautiful resort located directly on Inle Lake. The “rooms” are actually separate thatch roofed bungalows. Some are on a private pond, and the others (slightly more expensive) are on the lake. We had one on the lake and the view was spectacular. Our bungalow had a large room for the beds, a separate room for the sinks and toilet, another separate room for the tub, and then a private outside area with a shower. It also had a private balcony overlooking the lake. There are resorts that are closer to the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda. The Inle Princess is about 45 minutes away by motor boat. But this can be seen as an advantage since guests of other resorts are not commuting past it. When we took the boat to visit the lake and the pagoda, we motored past several other resorts, making noise as we went. There were no boats racing past the Inle Princess. Being right on the lake, they have a boat dock, and the area of the lake right around the resort is a “no motor” zone which keeps it quiet. To take a boat out a local “leg rower” will get on the boat with you and row you out for about 7-10 minutes, at which point he gets off the boat and your pilot engages the engine for the rest of your trip. It was nice to enjoy the leg rowing experience and the peaceful quiet before starting up the engine, but it would have been nicer if the leg rower wore just native dress instead of the western style sweatshirt ours wore. We were there during the Inle Lake Festival in 2015, which is a great time to visit. In addition to the wonderful scenery and local culture, you can watch the procession of boats carrying the Buddha images from town to town. Meals are served in the dining room or on the large porch surrounding it overlooking the lake. Food was nice; not the best or worst we enjoyed while on this trip; but the view from the porch overlooking the lake made for a very nice experience. I rated the cleanliness a four out of five, but only because you are staying in a bungalow among the trees, and you can expect a few critters (both the flying kind and the crawling variety) in the room, and you probably will drag your own leaves and debris in as you wander in and out. They do provide bed tents. They offer a wheelchair to use at the resort and when you visit the villages of the lake, if you could benefit from one."

Locavore: "What an unexpected surprise!"

Review by: luethiandy | Source: Trip Advisor
"We got the recommendation from a friend of us and as we stayed for a view days we wanted to check it out ourselves for lunch. The Restaurant is pretty small (make your Reservation well in advance!) but tastefully decorated, with very friendly and attentive staff looking after us. For the Food you can either choose a vegetarian or conventional menu, which starts with a few Amuse Bouche, followed by the courses from the menu. The taste of the Food, the creativity and ingredients used for the dishes and the presentation of the meal was outstanding! We were so positively surprised by this meal and the Restaurant as a whole that we can't wait to be back. Many thanks"

Amata Lanna: "Wonderful little hide away"

Review by: zakbear | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is the second time to stay at Amana Lannan in Chaing Mai. There are 16 rooms some king bed some twin bed. All have a jacuzzi tub and a shower ,fridge and safe. There is is a lovely pool and gardens and breakfast is included. 2 blocks from the night market and lots of restaurants. They are building a Lannan 2 across the river. The exact same model. The perfect place to relax and get away while being in the middle of it all."

Hotel Tugu Bali: "Hotel with Soul"

Review by: blueskytraveler22 | Source: Trip Advisor
"If you are an art lover, history lover or luxury lover.. better yet... all three - THIS is your hotel. The minute you walk down the wooden planked front entrance, you know this is a special place. The hotel has been furnished from the owners private collection of antiques. Each piece has a story and specially placed on the property preserving his love of Balinese history. The antiques may be old, but the hotel has all modern wants for luxury but with the a unique touch in their boutique rooms. The baths & plunge pools are the highlight with tubs that you will want to build in your own home. This place is an oasis in Canggu."

Sea Dance Resort: "Lovely quiet place"

Mume: "Exquisite"

Review by: braggettd | Source: Trip Advisor
We arrived for the early sitting on a Monday evening, and were struck again by the understated mood lighting and spare design and furnishing. There was an exciting bustle from the wait staff and chefs and everyone seemed genuinely energized to engineer a great experience for the customers. As expected, the options were exotic, yet approachable and we each chose a perfect fit for our four courses. The food was exquisitely presented, so much so that we were disappointed to disturb each artwork to consume it. The staff took the time to explain each course as it was offered, just enough information to enhance the experience, but not too much: all delivered in perfect English for us. A taste sensation and a very enjoyable ambiance. Thanks, Mume, once again!

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Contemporary luxury in a historic mansion"

Review by: Sher Reen L | Source: Trip Advisor
"Checked into The (lovingly restored) Blue Mansion for a two-night stay in December 2016, my first visit despite having been past the building on previous trips to Penang. From the warm hospitality, comfortable beds, clean big rooms (lovely bathroom a big plus with me), antique furniture, breakfast in the courtyard to coming back to a dim sum basket of local 'kuih' (cakes / sweets) with a handwritten note every evening was a lovely touch - the whole experience was memorable and in my opinion, worth returning for. Pro tip: the hotel is conveniently located next to a food court serving local delights, and across Georgetown Wines for that cheeky vino or late night tapas - thank me later! The Mansion is also home to Indigo, a fine dining restaurant which I tried, enjoyed and highly recommend. For those wanting to learn about the mansion's history, guided tours by some very passionate locals run daily at 11.00am, 2.00pm and 3.30pm - definitely something to fit into your travel itinerary. All in all, a strong contender for a unique experience. Stayed December 2016, traveled with friends"
