Tugu Malang: "Beautiful and Authentic Hotel"

Review by: Zoe T | Source: Trip Advisor
Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. Lovely spa and good support for bookings and activities across the island. Located very close to a good surf break and able to provide basic assistance with arranging surf expeditions to local beaches.

Tugu Malang: "Historic and romantic stay"

Review by: mucuna | Source: tripadvisor.com
"I had a very memorable stay in this beautiful hotel full of antiques. I dressed in my traditional Javanese outfit and Roberto shared with me the stories of the hotel and art pieces. We toured the spectacular Presidential Suite and all the halls and pavilions. The various rooms in the restaurant are full of amazing drawings reproducing old precious photos of prominent figures in history. Wood panels reproduces religious subjects from Asia and beyond. They all create an eclectic atmosphere of luxury and well travelled. (...) The highlight of each day was meeting Barry, Elaine and Rosemary from Australia and having tea and sweets at the hotel while chatting about travels and lives. Thank you to Roberto and John for taking care of me and would love to return again."

Tugu Lombok: "Paradise!"

Review by: Alice C | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed here for 6 nights in December and had the best time of our lives. This place is amazing! The hotel and it's grounds are so beautiful. We stayed in one of the Amempang rooms and it was so luxurious and absolutely huge. I've never been anywhere like this before- it's absolute paradise. The staff are exceptional and all so happy, friendly, welcoming and eager to go the extra mile for you. My boyfriend proposed to me while we were here, and because he'd let them know what he was planning they set us up a private dinner in one of the beds on the beach and had it all decorated for us. When we went back to our room they had decorated that for us too! They had made animal arrangements out of the towels, lit candles in the bathroom and filled up the bath with water and flowers. They made our whole stay so special I can't thank them enough. We are coming back for our honeymoon!

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "The floating lodge"

Review by: Whynotus | Source: Trip Advisor
Both peace and activity, trips, walks, exploration, all from these luxury floating "tents". People excellent, very helpful, nothing too much trouble, they even repaired my broken sandals. Great food too, in such a relaxing situation. Our only complaint was that we had not booked for longer, to appreciate all that is on offer here you need to allow enough time.

Mie Cafe: "Sophisticated dining"

Review by: JSmith7 | Source: Trip Advisor
This charming restaurant ticks all the boxes. Service is efficient, friendly and knowledgeable, the food is local but with a modern twist, and beautifully presented, and the setting is in a pretty garden. The tonle sap fish salad, and the frozen lime pie were particularly good.

Maison Polanka: "Our favourite place ever!"

Review by: JB_and_MB_in_L | Source: Trip Advisor
We have never enjoyed a place to stay - anywhere we have travelled - more than Maison Polanka. This is like staying in someone's home - or the home you might dream about having one day. With large, beautiful gardens and an elegant swimming pool, but only a handful of rooms so it's very peaceful never feels crowded even with other guests around. We also had the best Cambodian food of our trip in their restaurant, which is really just a few tables outside by the pool, but outshone anywhere else we ate. Off menu, they were kind enough to make a special noodle soup (nom banh chok) one day for us for lunch - it was delicious and worth making a special request for (in advance). We stayed in the Khmer House as a treat, and it was beautiful and spacious, though I think anyone would be happy with any of the rooms they have. But the best part of Maison Polanka are the people who work there who are warm, welcoming and willing to help with everything, from tour planning, surprise afternoon cakes by the pool, and a wonderfully memorable trip to the Road 60 night market for a dinner of insects, stuffed frogs and other more familiar foods! Our thanks in particular to Cathy, Chan, and Vong! Don't bother looking anywhere else in Siem Reap, just stay here!

The Island Lodge: "Magic on the Mekong"

Review by: Paul M | Source: tripadvisor.com
What a surprise, much better than it shows on its website and booking search engines. A touch of casual elegance right on the river. French influences everywhere as you'd expect with French owners, very classy open air restaurant and lounge area facing the pool and river on one side and the garden and villas on the other. Rooms above are bright, airy and extremely pleasant. The food is great, although mostly western style. There's lots to do - cycling and boat trips, visits to local markets etc. Only two hours drive from HCMC (the hotel will arrange a car) it's a great escape from the city - a must visit for people seeking respite from the big smoke.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "“Awesome trekking in perfect surrounding – in and around glenburn tea estate”"

Review by: Sachiv V | Source: Trip Advisor
"Just got back from a 3 night solo stay at the glenburn tea estate. I can't believe how they are ranked #4. They should be #1 hands down. Pick up at the airport was prompt with a safe driver and clean car. The driver stopped at a picturesque spot for a quick picnic lunch - paneer Kathi rolls, brownies and of course tea! Enough had been written about the last descent to glenburn, so I won't write anymore. But it's all true! Once you reach the estate, you are blown away by the setting. I was lucky as the weather was clear and I could see the Kanchenjunga peak in all its beauty. Luxurious accommodations with all the conveniences you need. I had some issues with the hot water in my bathroom but they moved me to another room immediately. And even offered complimentary massages for my inconvenience. I did use the massage as I did 3 treks on the next day - 1. Hike to Ramitay Dara, 2. Hike to the campsite and 3. Hike to manjitar suspension bridge. Great views from ramitay Dara and it's an easy 1.5 HR uphill trek. The campsite is a completely different setting from the mountains. And they do a fabulous barbecue lunch. Just relax by the river and enjoy the food. The 3rd trek to manjitar was ok and can be skipped. I wasn't impressed. The dinners are along with all the other guests and it's like you are having dinner in someone's house. Met people from Germany, London, San Francisco, Denver and Singapore. Wow! Great conversations over great food. Food is a little bland for Indian taste but Faye made me a spicy butter chicken thx next day. Breakfasts are outside the water lily bungalow. Awesome setting. Fabulous service and good choices - eggs, one special every day, and the usual stuff. The 2nd day I hiked to Badamtam tea estate and the Buddha of Badamtam. It's on the hill right opposite the glenburn tea estste - so you go down to 1000 feet and then trek uphill back to 3300 feet. And then they sent a car there to take me to Darjeeling - it's about 40 mins from Badamtam tea factory. Nothing great in Darjeeling. Except to have coffee/tea at Glenarys. Faye ( the estate manager) is very good with the guests and is always available to answer any questions and offer suggestions. Along with Will and Camilla, they make a great team. And not to forget all the staff - my trekking guides - Mandeep and Dinesh. The staff - Sajit, Binod, everyone. A great place in the eastern Himalayas -'not to be missed!"
