Tugu Malang: "One of the finest of over 500 hotels in which I have stayed"
"This absolutely super-excellent hotel just knocked off my socks when I entered its lobby. Then I checked into my fabulous room with teak wood floors, a private sitting room with a large bowl of fruit on the table, a wonderful chest of drawers, a king-size bed, and a bathroom with a stainless steel lining and all the amenities that one could wish for. I was in heaven! The restaurant has a huge menu. Better yet, the food was excellent, well presented, and graciously served. I'd stay at this hotel in a heartbeat!!"Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Exquisite!"
"I was very impressed! And usually I’m not by most things fusion. But here you have some very regular Thai dishes that have been modified with a flair! Different, special, and high quality ingredients are incorporated, expect unusual and beautiful presentations yet many of the flavours are so true Thai originals, especially like the curries, here served as sauce/gravy. These flavours are distinctly Thai and have not been altered, and I find I difficult to get these typical flavours in most other Thai restaurants nowadays! We were a group of five so did get to try a large selection from the menu. Almost everything left me wanting more!! Location is a bit hard to find, tucked in little lane off Narathiwat Road also accessible from Silom. I would go again, and would recommend highly, especially for those looking for Thai food with a creative touch! "Mathis Retreat: "An Oasis of Calm"
We stayed at Mathis Retreat for 6 nights and loved every minute of it. I found the centre of Ubud very hectic and a little overwhelming but coming back to Mathis every night was heaven. Located around a 5 minute drive from the centre of Ubud, Mathis Retreat overlooks beautiful rice paddy fields and has its own enclosure for the gorgeous ducks (a personal favourite) and it was so peaceful. We stayed in a garden bungalow and it was beautiful, the decor was gorgeous, it was spacious and private. Only minor flaws, we found the lighting very dim, while romantic, it was hard to find things in the bottom of our suitcases and there was a little noise from scooters going up & down the dirt road next to the resort, but this was only minor and as that road only services other accommodation it's usually quiet from 10pm onwards. The food at Terracotta Restaurant was delicious, we loved dining for breakfast and dinner overlooking the rice paddies. The staff were all lovely and very helpful, beautiful smiling faces every time we saw them. As this is a boutique resort it isn't hugely busy like large resorts and nabbing a spot by the pool was easy, no lounge chair reserving needed! Initially I was worried about the volcanic threat at Mt Agung as the alert level had been raised to the highest level, but I needn't be, Mathis is a long way away and life in Ubud carried on as per usual.Rachamankha: "Beautiful place to stay"
"On arrival to the Rachamankha it was hard to deny the breath taking architecture and clean calm appearance of the place. After staying at a friendly, family run guest house in Bangkok I did find this hotel to be a little bit sterile and cold at first. However, over the 4 days that I spent here I really warmed to the place. The location way great, being very central to the old town. Breakfast was excellent, with a really good range. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the facilities were very good, especially the pool. The room was also spacious and beautiful. A faultless stay. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"MAISONS WAT KOR: "Great stay in a wonderful setting"
"What a beautiful resort. We had the pleasure of staying here over Khmer New Year and had a wonderful time. The room is very spacious and overlooks the lotus pond. The pool is quite big, considering the size of the resort. The location is about 2km from the city center. As it was Khmer New Year most of the establishment in the center were closed, so we had lunch and dinner at the resort. The daily changing 3-course lunch and 4-course dinner are definitely recommended! The staff is very attentive and friendly and overall I would recommend everyone to stay here when travelling to Battambang. "Misool: "Paradise"
"Was my first time diving and I do t think I could have chosen a better world location. The trip was worth the length to go to a location where you can switch off from the world. If you want relaxation or adventure it has it all! Just happens to be in one of the most amazing locations in the world. GET THERE!"Tugu Bali: "Amazing hotel, local feel in a very touristy zone"
Loved this hotel. The location is great, across the lawn you've got the beach, the pool is lovely, set in a magical garden. The hotel food is fantastic, highly recommend you take a cooking class, I loved it and learnt a lot. Our room was so romantic, the "open air" bathroom was an unique experience, even during monsoon season. The hotel history and decor are stunning and the whole experience, great staff, was really worthwhile.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Exceptional"
It is impossible to describe Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. The scenery is breath taking, the food deliciously superb, the ambiance and staff first class. As a disabled person I (Allan) greatly appreciated having the bungalow closest to the main building. Marcus and his staff could not have been kinder or more considerate. Wish we could have stayed longer. As we are not exactly in the first flush of youth, it is unlikely that we will visit Nepal again but if we do we will certainly visit Tiger Mountain again. We wish Marcus and his team every success for the future. Sandra and AllanSatri House: "Super stay at Luang Prabang"
"We were delighted to be at Satru house in Luang Prabang .. Very old style historical villa which was earlier used by a communist head of Laos after Frenchs left.. Excellent rooms.. Superb services.. Good breakfast.. Efficient services.. On our request they also made Vegetarian Lao cuisine for dinner. It was really a pleasure to be in Satri house for 2 nights.. We wished we were here for one more night.... We highly recommend travelers to stay in this marvelous hotel..."Villa Song: "You Have to Stay HERE!!"
"Apologies for the late review but I had to get around to writing a little something about this wonderful hotel. We stayed her in July for five nights. We arrived at about 9.45pm after a seven and a half hour flight feeling a bit 'blah' only to be told that the kitchen had remained open for us to order dinner. How cool was that? So our first night was spent by the river, looking over at Ho Chi Minh, thinking ' we make the right choice here'! Our entire stay was really faultless. Friendly staff, lovely food and fabulous pool staff made our first stop off in Vietnam a 100% success. We arranged our private tours to Chu Chi Tunnels and a day trip around the city through the hotel and they were super choices. I remember now, on this cold dark November evening in Dublin, how lucky we were to have visited the wonderful, lively, exciting city of Ho Chi Minh and if your lucky to plan a trip there, stay at the Villa Song, its absolutely perfect. Thank you to everyone there for making our stay so lovely,"
