4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Good couple of nights"
We spent two lovely nights there. The location is stunning and the tents are very well set up with aircon, comfy beds and a great shower. The menu is short but well prpepared and we really enjoyed our kayaking expedition. It takes quite a while to get there but definitely worth a couple of nights for something memorable and different.Tugu Malang: "Unique experience"
Stayed here for three nights. The hotel is well located for city center. Stunning quixotic atmostphere in the hotel. Antiques, hand crafts, paintings are well decorated all over the hotel and lots of flowers.The room is clean, tidy, and classic. The staffs are amazing friendly, helpful, and attentive. Nice breakfast next to the pool. Moreover, the hotel spa was fantastic. Don't miss the hot stones massage. This is a wonderful place to rejuvenate: attractive, comfortably furnished cottages, welcoming & helpful staff, excellent food prepared by highly skilled chef, superb treatments organised to address specific needs all set in a beautiful location. Like all the other reviews I can only agree that Sea Dance is very special. From the moment of arrival to the sad departure 7 days later we were so well looked after. Poy,Faith and the team went out of their way to help. Never intrusive but always there if needed with recommendations and support. We left feeling we had made good friends. So, the accommodation was great, we had villa 30 and it was very private. A short walk to the excellent restaurant where the service is exceptional and the food delicious. The setting by the sea is magical and the swimming pool is beautiful. Facilities in the villa have everything covered from comfy bed to lovely toiletries.Rak Ko Jae Hahoe: "Charming and peaceful"
Although we've stayed at Japanese ryokan many times, this was our first experience of a hanok stay, and it didn't disappoint. Same warm welcome (with a cup of green tea and a wedge of apple), same simple aesthetics and same temptingly snug futon-like mattresses on the floor. What was different? The ondol underfloor heating, which was deliciously warm underfoot but if anything a little too hot for sleeping on, with the heat seeping up through the mattresses a little too efficiently. The gloriously-scented sauna experience. And the breakfast, which was a delicious vegetable-infused rice porridge, grilled mackerel, pickles and a bowl of fresh yoghurt with blueberries, nuts and dried fruits. The location is beautiful too, and so peaceful, with nothing more than birdsong and a cock crowing to break the silence. It was a little too cold to be able to enjoy the delightful private seating area on the veranda to the side of the building but in a week or two that will be a lovely place to enjoy an evening drink (bring your own!) or a morning cuppa. I was there before with friends and then the 2nd time with my hubby as i cant stop talking about it. The 2nd visit was a surprised for me for our annivesary. We have been upraded to old kitchen with private jacuzzi, it was fantastic. And we have an old kitchen stove preserved by unesco in our room, what else can we ask for more. The mansion, believe not need introduction or promotion, the building speaks for itself. The best conservation and well preserved building in Penang and Malaysia...so far...The Cabochon Hotel: "An oasis in the middle of chaotic Bangkok"
The Cabochon was heaven. The hotel is wonderfully decorated with antique items and gorgeous little nooks and crannies that make you want to photograph everything. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, catering to anything we needed. The breakfast was scrumptious - great way to start your day touring around Bangkok. Aside from the unexpectedly historical building and the long tale of Cheong Fatt Tze and his family, the guide who told us the story was also amazing. Talking enthusiastically about history for almost 2 hours straight mustn't easy. "Imagine classical music playing while you are having delicious homemade breakfast , watching the green fields and mountains looming over the horizon. Imagine privacy, luxury and great hospitality combined, as you relax in a refreshing pool and bath in the sun. Imagine, different spots within the resort that you could slow down, read a book, feed the fish and realign your thoughts. That, is Rice and Zen. This resort has it all. This was a perfect place to spend my birthday with a couple of close frens. Recommended to rent a car for ease of convenience and to try out other fabulous restaurants such as Arbutso and Vivobene"
