FLOWER ISLAND: "Your own Island Paradise"
"You will really feel you own the Island, serene, quiet, and picturesque, you will really have a perfect time here to soul search, perfect also for a romantic honeymoon! No hassle, food, transfers and tours can be arranged by the resort management. Plus! There is a lovely dog in the resort named Amber that will greet you as soon as you dock in the island! "Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "total relaxation"
Staff is great !! Stayed here with my sister who uses a wheelchair. From the moment I inquired about accesability, they helped us with solutions for possible difficulties. The resort is small, with lovely cottages, a nice pool area and a pleasant restaurant. The food is another big plus ! Fresh products from their own garden. It's very quiet and not far from Chaweng or Bophut. Would definately stay here again.Maison Polanka: "family trip"
We absolutely loved Maison Polanka, The atmosphere there is so peaceful and pampered without being ostentatious. The staff is kind, and attentive. We rented the entire hotel for our family. They helped us with everything including two day tour of the temples, shopping, onsite massage, dinners, lovely cocktail hours at the pool. One of the best places we have ever stayed. Everyone loved it from teenagers to grandparents. A true paradise.Reverie Siam: "Beautiful Hotel"
The resort set in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the main part of town. The grounds were beautiful garden. The room was vintage decorated, beautiful designed. Staff were very friendly.Locavore: "Worth every Rupiah"
On the top of our foodie list for Ubud was Locavore. Be sure to make a reservation and spend the xtra $ for the beverage package, which is carefully curated to enhance every bite of food. Not only does this team create art on a plate, but they have employed the best of Ubud..local ingredients + knowledgeable friendly staff = 1st class experience!!Tugu Bali: "A little jewel"
"The Hotel Tugu Bali is one of the best places I have ever staid in whilst traveling the world. The attention that is given to little details, like flower arrangements, candles, and even a little present on arrival & departure, was absolutely falttering. The staff is so friendly and sweet & make you feel special. Parts of the hotel are also museums & there are many limited collectors items you will not see anywhere else in the world. This is particularly charming as well. The hotel is located in beautiful Changgu, where a lot of the expats live, and which makes you be away from the hustle and busy bustle of Seminiak and Denpasar. You may want to consider renting a scooter to get around. There are many places to eat, and ithe beach is ideal for surfing. I had the suite with the private pool & I was in heaven :D I loved everything about Tugu Bali & put it very high on my recommendation list (and I am a picky person when it comes to hotels ;))"Neeleshwar Hermitage: "South India trip- part of year long trip with young son"
This is really a gem of a place, the cottages are tastefully done, the bathroom is superb, the service impeccable and the food and attention to detail is excellent. The pool is lovely and my son and our friends really enjoyed our stay here. For sure a must visit and I am certainly going back again sometime soon.Villa Song: "A perfect retreat after the trip"
Our two nights at Villa Song provided a relaxing start to our ambitious trip. The hotel is stylish, airy, comfortable and as lovely as it looks in the photos. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the banks of the river -- delicious, hearty Asian or Western options accompanied by an entertaining view of the boat traffic passing by. The hotel staff were exceptionally accommodating and kind (we had a member of our small group with a foot injury and they switched her to a larger room on the first floor at no extra charge). The showers are outstanding, the amenities top notch and they're generous with the bottled water (and the free minibar). If it was possible to give six stars, I would :)Sukoon Houseboat: "Splendid, luxurious, perfect spot to start travel through North of India"
"A couple of days on Sukoon prepared us for an extraordinary trip through Kashmir, Zanskar and Ladakh. Fine, not too spicy high cuisine, served on the roof... Ideal place to get a rest after the heat of Srinagar and surrounding visits. Very helpful, friendly crew, treating the guests like royalties. For us, travellers with the group of Explore the Himalaya, this place meant the changeover from a stressed mind to a first feeling of piece of mind. If I had been into yoga, I would have found a terrific spot in the early mornings... Instead, I enjoyed the coffee(s) on the covered roof terrace with some members of the group to chill out to let all impressions of the day sink (and be checked on my camera). If there is one thing I regretted, it's the fact you cannot swim in the lake as it is not safe for us and somewhat polluted(although that is being worked at I read). To conclude, this is the best spot to stay over while visiting this area, wether by boat, taxi or hiking! Enjoy! "Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Tranquility and service at its finest"
"I stayed at the lodge with my son and husband for three nights, and it was a highlight in our trip to Nepal. The location of the lodge is high in the mountains and away from the city. It is cooler than Pokhara City, peaceful, and the air is fresh. You will get to see magnificent views and its tranquility is simply inspiring. We stayed at cabin 7 and it was perfect for us in terms of privacy, space, and amenities. It has a balcony from where we could see the Annapurna Himalayas, beautiful sunrises, and get glimpses of birds, butterflies, and all kinds of insects (I got lulled to sleep by insect sounds in the evening). Our stay there was a relaxing pattern of glorious sunrises and sunsets (we were very lucky in this regard), nice but challenging hikes, and afternoons of reading, writing, chess and the Nepali game of “tiger and goats” (which the staff taught my son to play). We also enjoyed the pool (it is unheated but is a cool respite in the afternoon after our hikes), which has its own surreal view of Machapuchare and the Annapurna ranges. The staff members are wonderful. They are very attentive and accommodating and I really like how engaging they were with my son (who is 8 years old and very inquisitive). When my son found the library and the display it had, one of the staff kindly explained the specimens (e.g. snakes and insects) and tools (e.g. fish traps); and, I appreciate very much that the staff was quite knowledgeable (as affirmed during the hikes we had with him as our guide where he was able to tell us more about the people, places, flora and fauna, etc. in Nepal). You will definitely feel that Marcus and the staff members are doing their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. My family is vegetarian and one of the compromises we’ve long accepted when traveling pertains to food. However, the food we were served at Tiger Mountain Lodge was simply delectable! I cannot state this enough. Each dish was delicious and I went so far as to ask for a recipe from their kitchen. The juices were always fresh, the ingredients top-grade, and you know you’re not served anything from a can. Aside from the location, service and food, I also want to highlight their advocacy for responsible tourism and accountability to the community where they are (especially within the context of developing countries like Nepal). I am supportive of the various ways in which they lessen the impact they have on the environment (e.g. minimizing the use of water bottles, not using liquid shampoos, etc) and also how they are building relationships with locals and are taking part in improving people’s lives there. I would definitely recommend the Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge to family and friends."
