Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Only one word: OUTSTANDING! A 5-star experience in Myanmar"
"After our trekking trip from Kalaw to Inle, we desperately needed some comfort, nice food and a good night sleep....and we couldn't have asked for more during our stay at Inle Heritage! This was - by far - the best hotel we have stayed in during our 2-week trip in Myanmar. The rooms are spacious and furnished with great taste and top standards, the view on the lake is stunning. There are only 6 rooms in the complex and the staff is extremely lovely and super-attentive. Importantly...the food is absolutely STUNNING: we had 2 dinners and breakfasts during our stay and everything we ordered was outstanding - I don't think you can find a restaurant with such high quality anywhere else in the country. Vegetables are taken directly from several lovely gardens cultivated by the staff and you can really feel the freshness of every ingredient. There are several other ""luxury"" accommodations on the lake, but none of them offers such a high level of hospitality and food - combined. We would choose Inle Heritage again and again!!! Yes, while in the room, you can hear the noise of boats passing by, but this didn't disturb us at all and the noise significantly decreases after 8-9pm in the evening. The hotel also offers complementary ear plugs so we could sleep like babies during both our nights. Last but not least, Inle Heritage is a non-profit organisation that looks after the cultural and natural heritage of the Inle Region, aiming at developing tourism while maintaining the original Burmese culture and way of life, and respecting nature. Given how quickly the lake is developing (with both pros and cons...) we were very happy to stay in a place that is run in a sustainable way and under these grate values. Don't miss it!!! Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Worth seeking out"
Glad we found this! We stumbled onto Le Du on our way to another restaurant where we had reservations. It looked so interesting we made a reservation for the following night. Choose options for each of the four courses. Each is creative and well prepared. A modern take on more tradtional thai ingrediants with a french influence. Each dish is complex and the server carefully explains what is being served and how it was prepared. They offer wine flights, go for it. Each wine was perfect with the food that it accompanied. Hard to have made better wine selections. A generous pour of all four wines (four courses) unlike many wine flights. Easy walk from skytrain staion Chong Nosi. My ONLY critisism is that for the thrid course they only have one option that does not have a surcharge. It was fantastic, but would have liked at least one more no sur charge choice.Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Heaven on earth"
"We were two rather tired middle aged parents with two of our daughters (aged 18). Sea Dance could have been set up with just us in mind. One daughter is working out in Thailand and we came over with one of her sisters for three weeks. One of them was spent at Sea Dance and I was not joking when I told Faith that when the others left I would be hiding in the wardrobe and planned to stay forever. We booked into a double chalet. So we had two interconnecting double rooms each with gorgeous bathroom and our own private pool. Do not underestimate the bliss of a private pool. We are not talking an olympic monstrosity, even I only managed two strokes from one end to the other. On the other hand, at the end of the day we bobbed around in the pool in the warm evening sun with a G&T and the evils of work responsibilities etc melted away. We spent an afternoon with Doi (my apologies if my spelling is off) learning how to cook green curry, seafood salad and chicken and ginger stir fry. I don't care how experienced you are in the kitchen, this is worth doing. I have been cooking since I was about six, my mother is an expert in historical cooking with a library to match, there is little in the kitchen that surprises or scares me yet even I learned subtle and interesting tips. Back home a week or so I cooked Tom yum. Once I would have needed a recipe - Doi gave me the confidence to create it on my own and my super critical Tom Yum husband loved it! I also had a massage in the spa. This is not your run of the mill five star spa. This is an authentic, no English spoken, work out between you and your masseuse, spa. It was bliss. I had a several massages in thailand from the ""Oh heck put the stick away please"" foot massage in JJ market in Bangkok, to the ""oh please don't wake me up"" and ""I wasn't snoring"" massages in Chiang Mai. A bonus was that I bumped into Doi in her herb garden on my way back to our chalet. Doi gave me a guided tour around her garden, explained what she grew for the kitchen and what she grew for the spa. For an old fashioned gardener like me that was the most wonderful way to end the massage from heaven. there are any number of luxury hotels and resorts on Ko Samui. If you are looking for a personal touch, for a spot of luxury without bankruptcy and any number of wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly staff (Faith is worth twice her weight in gold at the very least) then come to Sea Dance. Or better still ...don't ...so that there will be room for us when we return. Stayed March 2017, traveled with family"Tugu Malang: "Wonderful hotel!"
This was our favourite hotel in Java. Not only are the staff helpful and friendly and the food is wonderful, it is a museum. The 'exhibits' are in every room, including the room we stayed in. The collection is amazing. It was a very special experience. It is in an old Dutch colonial villa which has been built on to in order to house the owners collection. The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom quirky. I always appreciate the flowers and welcome drink. we can highly recommend this hotel and wish we had had the time to stay longer.Satri House: "Wonderfully peaceful boutique hotel"
"Had a wonderful time at Satri house in late August for the first few days of our honeymoon. The whole hotel is full of the most fascinating antiques and curios, and is really beautifully designed. We stayed up in the Satri House suite, in the building where the prince of Laos used to sleep! The suite was so beautiful, and had a view over the serene swimming pool. If you are a fan of vintage and mid-century antiques, you will love it! Whilst staying at Satri House (due to it being the raining season) there were no other guests, so we were treated to the experience of staying in our 'own private mansion' with all of the fabulous and incredibly helpful staff there to cater for our every need. Just perfect! No matter the time of day or how late we had been out, we always returned to the hotel to find 4 people at the front desk ready to help us, and two behind the pool side bar, just in case we fancied ordering a drink! The food deserves special mention too. Dinner on the first night was delicious - lots of carefully crafted local specialities with 5* presentation. Although the hotel is set away from the main part of town, it's still within walking distance or a very easy 2 minute tuk tuk ride. We preferred being slightly further out as the peace and quiet was exactly what we wanted at the end of the day. "Satri House: "Lovely Sanctuary"
Pluses - Perfect in almost every way. Beautiful property. Lovely staff. The deluxe room was gorgeous & the attached balcony was a charming addition to the space. We tried the spa - that was very good too, both facial & the relaxing oil massage. For breakfast, even if you're not a noodle lover, do try the chicken noodle soup. It's delicious! And a great way to start the day, either before a day at the temples or after the dawn pilgrimage of watching the monks' procession. A nice 10-15min leisurely stroll to the town centre. Complimentary bicycles provided if you want to ride. Oh, and look out for the elephant in the open enclosure across the street from the property!SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "What a Valentine’s treat"
I was a guest at Lucia & Chef Felix's Valentine's dinner - the first ever dinner at this exciting new and peaceful place - and I got served more surprises than I can name here! The menu was skilfully "crafted" with one course just melting into the next - perfect and distinct aromas of ingredients creatively combined, it felt like being on a voyage of the senses - and I left elevated in spirits and happy that such is possible again in Yangon. Thank you very much - and may many more guests be as happy as I was!! Ueli - Yangontugu lombok: "A place you’ll remember forever"
"I've seen quite a few big and luxurious resorts, but I can guarantee that my stay at Tugu Lombok will remain in my mind like one of the most amazings I've ever seen. The beach of the resort is one of the most beautiful white sand beaches I've ever seen, the calm of the resort and the accomodations are amazing, the food is to die for...and the staff is always taking care of you. The villas are simply so beautiful, clean and astonishing that leaving them is quite painful. A paradise on earth. "Reverie Siam Pai: "Stunning views & décor"
My husband and I stayed at Reverie Siam as part of our honeymoon trip to Thailand, and we have continued to rave about our stay there. Everything about this resort is beautiful--from the views of the mountains to the decorations in the rooms. The resort has a very relaxing atmosphere, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. If you are traveling in Thailand, don't miss the chance to stay here.Tugu Bali: "Discovery of a Treasure"
This hotel was one of the most wonderful experiences we have had in many years of traveling the world, staying in some of the finest places. The hotel is unique, Staff is superb and food experience special. We had the Royal Tugudom dinner with our family and while relatively expensive was certainly worth it. The staff went beyond the norm and Pande and Frank were exceptionally helpful We were in the Puri le Mayeur suite. What a treat.
