Rachamankha: "Quaint hotel"
Beautiful hotel and room. Loved the design and the property overall. A magical place for sure. Please make the effort to book it if in Chiang Mai. Stayed only one night in a Grand Deluxe room but would have liked to stay for more.Tugu Bali: "tranquil, beautiful hotel with impeccable service"
Absolutely loved this hotel. So well looked after by the gorgeous staff. Fabulous food with breakfast served anywhere anytime in your choice of private enclaves around the hotel. It was a peaceful & beautifully appointed hotel that has tons of Indonesian charm - stunning gardens & antiques. Husband & son were happy to go out surfing, but I didn't want to leave the tranquility of Tugu.Muang La Lodge: "A real Gem"
"We stayed three days and two nights in this slice of paradise. The setting is terrific and the service and attention to detail was even better. The fusion of French and Lao cuisine was sensational and the presentation a delight for the eye. The staff to a person clearly has been well trained and look for opportunities to please. We happen to be visiting a day after my birthday and of course they surprised us with an evening of lighting candle lanterns to send off good blessings into the clear evening sky. Truly a place to revisit and restore. Bravo on all fronts. "Flower Island: "Our favourite place in the Philippines"
"This is the perfect place for people like us - wanting to get slightly off the beaten path but with creature comforts such as good water pressure, comfy bed, good food...and most importantly, a beautiful beach with some of the best snorkelling right off the beach we have seen. (...) The snorkelling was incredible - such a beautiful, healthy reef with tons of fish. We were honestly snorkelling 3-4 times a day and it was always different. I am torn as I sort of don't want to tell too many people about this gem of a place but also want to share the experience as this is what we were looking for in the Philippines. Without a doubt the highlight of our trip in terms of places we stayed and we will absolutely go back. Thanks to all the lovely staff as well who made our stay so enjoyable."Heritage Suites Hotel: "Perfect Place to Spend the Rest of My Life… If only I could."
My sister and I shared a bungalow suite and felt very much like queens. She's used to 5-star service, but I'm still a little awe-struck. The room was large with a sitting room, private outside area, and a large king sized bed, with a sturdy mattress and high quality bedding. The service was wonderful. While all of the staff were friendly and helpful, stand-outs for our stay were Sim and Sippa. They were both very attentive to our needs, and suggested things when we asked questions, and Sippa was able to find several options when we told her we wanted to see an Apsara dance. Breakfast is included and is delicious. The coffee was wonderful, the fruit ripe and tasty and the mini croissants and pain-au-chocolats crafted the French way. We ate at the restaurant for dinner once, and we all loved the food. I'm a vegetarian and the chef made sure I could eat eggs and added one to my rice and veggie dish. Tip- get the passion fruit sorbet. To Die For. The pool was lovely and we had drinks two afternoons in a row sitting by the pool. We also got massages while there- they are excellent for relaxing massages but if you're going in for some kind of sports, technical, injury related massage, my advice is to wait for your regular masseuse and enjoy their relaxing massages, which are very good. We had a wonderful time and hope to return one day. The return flight about killed me, but this place is worth another visit. The Apsara Rive Droite: "Classic Modern"
"Well, may not look busy but great menu with fusion of traditional and western influences. Don't be put off by what may appear to be lack of patronage. Staff are well trained and friendly. Try, Fish Cakes, Pumpkin Curry, Buffalo Cheeks (Yummy) etc., Manager, Chris can discuss any special requirements. This is also a highly regarded boutique hotel on the Historic Peninsula over looking the Nam Kahn river. Stayed January 2017"MesaStila: "A trip to Paradise"
"Have just returned from a holiday to Indonesia that started with a fabulous 7 nights at Mesa Stila. Walking onto the verandah of our beautiful house every morning, with a cup of coffee made from the beans grown on the estate and seeing the spectacular view of volcanoes and hearing the sounds of the jungle was truly magical. The staff here are so friendly and attentive to your every need. The food is delicious and uses produce grown on the estate, as well as homemade yoghurt, ice cream, sorbets, bread etc. Do try the coconut porridge for breakfast and the pina colada salad is a revelation! Do also go to the spa and indulge in a massage. Every treatment starts with a spell in the steam room and finishes with a refreshing pot of ginger tea and small treats. The masseurs are excellent, Citra has the tiniest hands but a powerful, healing touch. We were very grateful to Erny for organising our treatments so thoughtfully. There's a great programme of events too but walking around the grounds and lying by the infinity pool gazing into the jungle left me truly refreshed and ready to face the world again. I hope I'll be returning soon! "Sanak Retreat Bali: "The Best place I have ever stayed and i travel a lot"
The setting, the ethos, the staff!!! Its dreamy and Its the real deal. A true eco luxury treat! The rooms are beautiful and in keeping with the land and nature. The food is exquisite. The views are stunning. I loved this place so much Ive been back twice and will return there whenever I am in Bali, its well worth the adventure up into the mountains for! I was made to feel like part of the community here and I am truly grateful to have felt this welcomed. Thank you all x x x see you again soon!Tugu Lombok: "Seriously Stunning"
Truly. If you love architecture and antiques, this place is for you. Around every corner is something beautiful or interesting. We stayed in one of the pool villas and it was gorgeous. The only slight negative was the tiling in the pool could use refurbishment as we were getting a bit of rust coming off them while swimming. The beach is incredible. Clear blue and calm. Perfect for snorkeling.Take the resort's boat to the Gilli Islands. You will not be disappointed. Hearing the call to prayer coming from the many different mosques in the area was unreal. Hearing several muezzin's singing (if that's the right word?) you to early morning prayers is my idea of heaven. Food in the restaurant was great. The resort is so large that we didn't know about the second bar/restaurant until our second night there. There was only one tiny thing that went wrong but I think it needs to be addressed. I came down with some sort of a nasty upper respiratory infection. A doctor was called in and I was given antibiotics. Only problem was, they were the completely wrong drugs. Turns out I had a double ear infection. Had the doctor diagnosed me properly my trip home wouldn't have been so uncomfortable. That being said, I knew something was wrong and on our way to the airport our driver took me to a hospital where I was given heavy duty decongestants that probably saved my ear drums. Huge kudos to him and the lovely doctors and nurses for getting me in and out of there so quickly! Even with this problem it was pretty much a perfect resort experience. We will be back!Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Even during construction definitely worth a visit"
"I had asked the concierge at my hotel for a recommendation of Thai cuisine without being spicy. Le Du did deliver exactly that. The menu came in three parts, a la carte, four course tasting menu or 6 course tasting menu with an optional wine pairing. I opted for the latter. The food was excellent and ranged from flowers and vegetables via seafood and fish to meat and poultry. The arrival experience was a bit surprising as the ground floor of the restaurant was undergoing renovation and access was via a side door and the emergency staircase which gave way to a nicely divided space on the second floor."
