MesaStila Resort and Spa: "Wonderful get away in central Java"
This is a wonderful resort set in the middle of a coffee plantation. A cool respite from the heat of Yogyakarta, the service in this resort is first rate, from the front desk to the restaurant etc. My wife indicated that the massage she received in the spa was one of the best she has ever had. The breakfasts were fabulous, the views awe-inspiring, and the arrange tour to the Borobudur temple was excellent. My only negative is that the fitness equipment was really second rate and not operational when I was there. But everything else was great!Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "history"
"If you want that historical experience then this is the place to get it. there is no luxurious Hilton Hotel room but the charm & historical feeling is all worth it. The room is enormous & the bathroom although has modern shower taps the decor is from the era long gone. service is great & the food was good as well. Breakfast was included & consisted of buffet of fruit & cereals & a la-cart hot breakfast & first time I had a hotel say to me after I had finished my breakfast ""have you had enough, would you like some more?"" The house is also a museum & has daily tours & is very interesting to learn about the history of the house. its close to a lot of attractions including the wharfs & a short distance to all the famous Panang street wall paintings & art. "We had a magnificent stay at Villa Song! I would totally return to this property and would recommend it highly. The staff was so accommodating and could not do enough for us! The chef, Kevin, was amazing and the food was superb! Everything was perfect from our check-in (loved the watermelon juice, so refreshing after a hot taxi ride from the airport), wait staff, porters, housekeeping, etc! "We visited Leopard Safaris for the second time and had another great experience. Camp facilities have been improved with bigger tents and fans and flushing toilets. The service is just as good with great local food and small details such as cold face towels on arrival and after the drives. Our hosts Sajith and Praneeth were excellent very knowledgeable and, as we are keen photographers very happy to position the vehicle so we could get the best shots. Only one fleeting leopard siting at dusk but we had a great extended experience with a sloth bear. It's very interesting to drive around and have birds and animals pointed out that, whilst there, are not obvious to the untutored eye. All in all an experience that I can highly recommend. We stayed for 2 nights in this idyllic place. Michel has an excellent team of friendly and dedicated staff. Every detail is considered and the food is fabulous. Not cheap but there is a generosity of spirit here and an attention to quality that makes it good value. We will return. "We found this unique hotel to be in a good part of Bangkok. Close to the Skytrain that connects you to most of the city and to/from the Airport. Very helpfull staff and overall great service level. As this is a boutique hotel with very few rooms, you really feel you get special attention. Nice rooms, with beautiful decor and a nice bathroom. Our room also featured a pleasant balcony (free minibar and fresh fruit daily by the way! Good breakfast as well) We especially liked the roof top terrasse with the large swimmingpool and stunning views of the city. Loved this place! Simply beautiful and charming! Every detail, every flower and candle was just perfect. The hotel is very clean and everybody is kind and helpful! We had dinner at the restaurant and I have to admit that I was a bit nervous telling them about my celiac disease and how they had to be careful! The menager himself discuss with me about what I could eat and how everything had to be done! I had an amazing dinner and a delicious breakfast!!! friendly welcome, great settings of tables with lots of privacy. The menu is has lots of choices to return few times on our stay. The service has charm and they explain well all the dishes. very reasonable prices, will be coming back sure.
