Tugu Lombok: "Glorious. Simply perfect"
Everything you could ever want from a resort like this. Spacious, luxurious rooms, quiet peaceful atmosphere, attentive yet unintrusive staff, on the beach, great food, great tropical cocktails, good selection of well organised, safe, and secure activities arranged with but a word to front desk (we had a particularly good among well informed driver called Danny for our trip to the waterfall), AC rooms, snorkeling lovely coral off the beach, and a wonderful selection of towel animals (you'll see what I mean).NEELESHWAR HERMITAGE: "Heavenly Retreat!"
"Elegant, tasteful and spiritual haven. A wonderful end to an amazingly busy and eventful tour.We left feeling rejuvenated and fully refreshed having enjoyed the wonderfully comfortable and harmonious ambience. The attention to detail and care taken at every level contributes to the magic of this place. With only twelve cottages, we were given personal service and attention of the highest order. The breakfasts served at the beach cafe are beautifully presented and delicious. In the evening we enjoyed supper under the stars at the beach cafe too…eating freshly caught fish and sea food."Mie Cafe: "Something to remember besides temples."
Awesome food in a matching atmosphere. If you are into food and want to impress your wife/partner/affair, this is an appropriate place to go. The set menu will give you a variety of flavours to cherish. There are nice wines to compliment it. Price is higher than average but very fair for the quality you get. Extra nice evening!SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Oasis in the middle of busy Yangon"
A stunning place in the heart of Yangon, with an impecable view towards the Inya Lake. The food is just perfection and the hosts are really nice. The only thing I could criticize would be that the table is a little bit dark.Amata Lanna: "Great cozy stay"
Had a wonderful stay at Amata Lanna. We were greeted with excellent service with many smiles. We felt very comfortable and cozy here. Only 12 rooms ensure a boutique experience. It seemed very authentic. Rather than staying directly in Old City, we opted to stay here for a less touristy feel. Short walks (2 blocks) put you at the edge of the old town- where you can find restaurants, massage, laundry, pharmacy, 7-11, etc. Also within 2 blocks is the Anantara hotel which is very upscale (pricey), but has a great “Secret Service” bar and restaurant that we indulged in. Also, the night market is a must see and only 2 blocks as well.Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Excellent"
"Beautiful setting. Less than 20 cottages spread out over a fairly large area so privacy is virtually guaranteed. Rooms are well appointed including a semi open bathroom in the garden view room we stayed in. Good dining options with the beachside restaurant our favourite. The beach itself is amazing running in both directions as far as the eye can see with not a soul in sight. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Besser geht nicht!"Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Very lovely hideout"
Beautiful place - if you go there, you never want to leave.... amazing food, great yoga lessons, very friendly staff, excellent food, nice spa. Like Thailand was 30 years ago but better. If you want internet in your room, buy a prepaid card at the airport, wifi only in at the restaurant. Be aware of the monkeys!4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Unique and goegeous, but the best part is the staff"
" really can't say enough about how much I loved my stay at the 4 Rivers Floating Lodge. It is a gorgeous place, relaxing and natural making for the perfect getaway. The tents are lovely and come with all the amenities you could want -- your own deck, a t.v., a cute wooden bathtub, lush robes and eco-friendly soaps. The setting is second to none, located on the Tatai river which blends jungle and palm trees seamlessly. The excursions they provide include firefly watching, a trip to the local waterfall, jungle treks (weather permitting) and kayaking in the mangroves. I made some great memories... The staff round out this great experience -- the excursion teams are great, the general manager is kind and attentive and the restaurant staff are warm and eager to please. Living in Cambodia, I know how difficult it can be staff urban hotels, let alone a property as isolated as 4 Rivers, so kudos to them. Note: Located on the river, you will encounter bugs (including gorgeous butterflies) so be prepared -- that said, I left without a single mosquito bite. This is also a relatively remote location which means the food choices (which are plentiful enough and delicious) won't be the same as in more populated areas. If you can't live without your phone/computer this place isn't for you since there is no wifi. "David’s Kitchen: "Birthday Treat"
What a great find not far in a taxi just outside the old city. It was my birthday and we wanted to go somewhere special and were not disappointed . Amazing setting, great decor , great welcome , attentive but not over bearing staff and lovely to meet David . It is expensive but we all know you get what you pay for. At the end of our 2 month trip in Asia but if we comeback to Chiang Mai we will certainly be eating here again regardless of having a birthday. Attention to detail shines through here.
