Maduzi Hotel: "Beautiful, serene hotel with lovely attention to detail"
"We were pointed towards 'small luxury hotels of the world' and found this little charmer. By comparison to a lot of the other hotels on the site, it was relatively inexpensive at just under £100 for the night. The welcome was lovely, a genuine welcome drink from a selection (including alcohol - yay) and a strict rule of no tipping. The lobby is beautifully appointed with great attention to detail, from the sumptuous sofas to the endless array of Asian teapots. The room itself is gorgeous, with a GINORMOUS bed which could easily sleep around 27 good friends, a fabulous infinity jacuzzi bath and separate large dressing area and luggage storage. I would HIGHLY recommend this place and likely stay again. Stayed April 2017"SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "A beautiful restaurant"
"I only managed to try the top 2 recommended restaurants in Yangon - Seeds and Le Planteur and have to say that Seeds is number 1 for good reasons. Everything in this restaurant is beautiful - the food, decor and grounds which fronts the lake with lotus flowers. It’s perhaps better to come before night falls in order to fully appreciate the surroundings. The place is a little difficult to find and signage not very prominent so do ensure that your driver knows it before you set off. Food is gorgeous and the service is good and staff cheerful. If you only time to visit one restaurant in Yangon, make it this one."Tugu Bali: "Bali Transcendent"
"This is a wonderful hotel. The Tugu brand is well known in Indonesia for its sense and mix of history, local culture and design. Not to mention excellent food and understated but attentive service. This property has those attributes in spades. The Tugu Bali is perfect for people that like luxury and privacy and interesting, crusty surroundings - at a reasonable price I might add. Don't even think about staying here if you are into 5 stars and chrome and marble and buffet restaurants and big gyms and concierges that can get you into Mozaic or the Oasis Beach Club bikini parties on short notice - because you will hate it here. It is located, by the way, in Canggu, which was a sleepy place when the hotel opened, but is now the hippest area in Bali. Being surrounded by hip has its disadvantages, but also advantages - for example, the Tugu is opposite the best bar in Bali (possibly in Indonesia) and just down the road from one of the world's best seafood restaurants. Fortunately, Tugu guests are immune to the disadvantages (hipster crowds, beach clubs, bad restaurants, noise). The rooms here are oases - I know this is a cliche in hotel-speak, but it happens to be true in this case. In our room here, we were beautifully cocooned and felt entirely isolated from the rest of the world in the best possible way. Our small private garden and plunge pool were green and perfect. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. And I have never have thought of a bathroom as being sexy until I saw our bathroom in room 109. The common areas are also lovely. Big and spectacular in the case of the wood-pavilion-ed lobby, small and cool in the case of the pool, expansive and comfortable in the case of the beach-side garden. The service is great - the way I like it at least. Unobtrusive, but ever present. Bali is an ecosystem with deep wells of cultural fascination and mystery. If you want to immerse yourself in this Bali for a few days (not the boring Bali of Nusa Dua, or the Bali of cheap clothes and cheap beer and self-conscious bistro restaurants in Kuta and Seminyak), but not travel all the way to the north or east of the island, the Tugu Hotel is about the best compromise I know"Villa Song Saigon: "Fantastic place by the river in district2 stay three times"
This the best hotel in saigon in my view really comfortable rooms fantastic staff great pool gym great terrace on the river song great air con restraints food is great Vietnamese European food fantastic German restraints manger the breakfast is second to none and it is very nice old villa with amazing gardens I will come back money times in the futer4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Beautiful location, serene back to nature"
"Tents on wooden decking sounds bizarre but it works. Beautiful location. Arrival (picked up by boat from a car park) felt a bit scary but once on the river we were swept away by the beauty of this place. Food, service, location all faultless. Tips: ignore what you read about wifi - there is none, be prepared for it and then you can just enjoy the peace. We were quite happy without wifi but the kids back home were a bit scared when we suddenly went radio silent for 4 days! Trip to the falls is further than you think but well worth it. Borrow canoes for free to paddle around the resort, up and down river. Swimming in the river - looks a bit dodgy as water looks brown but trust me it beats a swimming pool any day. No air con (well they are tents after all) so it did get a bit hot at times. 4 days is enough unless you are happy with your own company as there really isn't much to do once you've taken a canoe and visited the falls. My husband fished every day and caught nothing. The evening firefly trip (also free) is lovely. They call it their Christmas lights. Stunningly beautiful."Hotel Tugu Lombok: "So so good!"
"Slithered before deciding on this hotel over the OBEROI and so glad we did. A totally unique setting nd a place you could return to every year. The Manager was a delight and always seemed to pop up somewhere when you least expected it. This is not a run of the mill chain hotel . It is for real travellers who want to feel they are somewhere different. It's not perfect in some respects but that's why it is one of our favourite hotels in the world."Samanea Beach Resort: "Perfect for when you want to getaway"
On first arrival at Samanea we were pleasantly surprised at how pretty the resort was! A true resort, getaway in the quite town of Kep. Villas were very nicely decorated, had a real tropical feel. Bathrooms are novelty with outdoor tub and rain shower. Big, spacious rooms. Individual villas. Rooms have some air conditioning and an additional fan is provided. However aircon isn't strong enough to really cool the room down. Also as bathroom is outdoors - it has no air conditioning. Beautiful pool, lovely view out to the sea. Amazing sunsets. Please take insect repellant as being close to the water and mangroves there are alot of mosquitos and bugs. Overall food was good but not fantastic but the environment makes up for it. The open dining area was really nice. Good for a few days getaway. Great for couples - but as travelling with a friend a few days was enough. Note: no gym, wifi was relatively stable. We would highly recommend Samanea as a secret resort getaway.Tugu Malang: "One of the World’s Great Hotels"
"It is rare to find a hotel where service is flawless in every detail: The Tugu Malang, one of the world's few truly great hotels, is such a place: The hotel is of such astonishing beauty and the staff are such nice hard-working people, anxious to please in every way, that the Tugu is in fact a destination in itself. If you have no other reason to stop in Malang, then do so to enjoy the extraordinary pleasures of the Tugu. The rooms are ravishing, each one with some element of art and designed thoughtfully for maximum comfort. Exotic fruits await you; the bed is turned down with a friendly note before you go to sleep. Want your shoes cleaned? They come back polished better than when they were new. Breakfast includes almost unlimited pleasures: the menu is vast and you can combine local and Western dishes. Everything is both artful and delicious and the restaurant setting is a work of art in itself. Afternoon tea is included, with an array of local delicacies, served with the ever-present Tugu charm. The hotel owner has built a world-class museum into the hotel. Seemingly endless antiques and art are fabulously displayed; and the best part is that the hotel supplies a brilliant and knowledgeable tour guide to take you round. My guide was Wahyu, who clearly loves the hotel and told me he takes considerable amounts of time to research the objects on display so as to give the best presentation. His tour was completely involving because of his intelligence and enthusiasm -- it felt like being a celebrity receiving a highly-privileged personal presentation from the head curator of a national museum! I do hope that management will recognize Wahyu's excellence and ensure his career development in both museum curating and management! Reception also has the best people: kind, knowledgeable, helpful. They can get you wherever you want in town and make any needed arrangements for you. If you'd like to visit Bromo I'd highly recommend taking the cross-desert route from Malang: it is highly scenic and also quite surreal in places. I did the trip the other way round by ojek (motorbike taxi), but you can also do it by jeep and the Tugu can make arrangements. The ability to take this mindbending route is reason enough to stay in Malang. But you don't even need that reason. The rare graciousness, fragrant beauty, opulence, detailed service and pure delight that exemplifies everything the Tugu stands for means that you should head for the Tugu if you are anywhere in the region for no other reason than to stay in one of the most fabulous five-star hotels in the world at a price for which you would get something only very ordinary in the USA or Europe. This is a best of the best, a treasure, a complete delight: don't miss the opportunity to stay there!"4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Floating holiday"
Very enjoyable weekend on kayaks, in waterfalls, jumping into the river. The staff was very helpful, and we enjoyed the meals. After the busyness of Phnom Penh, 4 Rivers was a perfect escape. Glamping turned out to be a lot of fun, and I recommend 4 Rivers.Tugu Bali: "Authentique Indonesian Decor"
"Without doubt, the room in Tugu Bali is one of the best we ever stayed. Everything was design to the utmost details to represent Indonesian (Java) beauty. We only stay in the Rejang Suite Ocean view for one night on the last leg of our adventure in Bali. The location in Pantai Batu Bolong, Canggu is rather secluded, but busy with surfers. Perfect for honeymooners. The staff are extremely helpful and polite; from the reception, bellboy, gardener, waiters. Definitely we want to come back and spend more time there "
