David’s Kitchen: "So good in many ways!"

Review by: eupoo | Source: Trip Advisor
"Was so happy that I booked David's Kitchen for my mom's birthday. Everything was so great from the amazing menu, the delicious food, the ambiance, and the service. The menu was extensive but everything looked so good on it. I was sad that I was actually suffering from a stomach bug at the time because I wanted to eat everything. The lobster bisque is definitely ON POINT. I was weary to try because they're usually heavy and creamy and it was actually so light and even foamy at the top. A must try. The french onion soup doesn't have much cheese which I welcomed due to my circumstance, but would've preferred more if I was feeling better. The beef cheek is also a must try! Melt in your mouth. David himself also came to great us twice, our names were put on the table, and they also made arrangements for my mom's birthday. He even sent us a followup email afterwards. The attention to detail and personal touch was an appreciated surprise. The decor is also light and comfortable for a 'fancy' restaurant. It never felt stuffy in there and it had a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend. A must go in Chiang Mai!"

Locavore: "A Treat for all the Senses"

Review by: napipeak | Source: Trip Advisor
One of the 10 best meals I've ever had in my life. My husband and I each had the five course tasting menu, sharing the meat and vegetarian options. We simply lost count of the "extras" we were given. The food was fresh, imaginative, gorgeous, and so delicious! A meal like this in Manhattan would cost four times as much - and would not be presented by such delightful servers. I'd go every week if I lived near Ubud.

Talabgaon Castle: "Unreal Experience"

Review by: A TripAdvisor Member | Source: Trip Advisor
"My wife and I recently visited this resort on our trip from San Francisco and could not have been happier with our stay. It is a beautiful property and the staff could not have been more hospitable. The grounds were beautifully maintained, the rooms were gorgeous and comfortable, and the food was fantastic. We stopped here for a night in between Agra and Jaipur. It is in the countryside so it is a very tranquil and peaceful setting when compared to the city. We were treated like royalty at this 200+ year old castle that was recently restored to this beautiful resort. The resort sits on 100 acres with expansive lawns, a pool, gardens, and a polo field. It is a perfect place to spend a night or two to unwind and get way from the hustle and bustle of India. 5+ stars across the board. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

Locavore: "Ecstatic"

Review by: Angelo1975 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Never thought I'd have to go to Ubud to get the best culinary experience in my life. This restaurant ticks all the boxes for me. Phenomenal food using local ingredients, knowledgeable and friendly staff and a great ambiance. Seemingly endless appetisers, 7 courses with a pre-desert and 3 let's call them post deserts. I was in heaven! I especially liked the squid in black dish and the Bangkok Hitam (pork shoulder). We chose a beverage pairing with each course. These beverages were cleverly crafted cocktails. In my opinion they deserve a Nobel prize for cocktails for their cocktail with bacon! I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who is willing to have their tastebuds titillated. Be sure to make a reservation well in advance!"

sukoon: "Sukoon… Peace of mind"

Review by: Vinod R | Source: tripadvisor.com
"Happened to stay at sukoon for one night. Houseboat is located in one corner of dal lake and it rightfully earns it's name ""sukoon"". All I can hear was birds chirping, occasional ripples of water caused due to shikara and ofcourse my baby girl commenting in her coded language. You will find an amazing team who amongst themselves can communicate in total 10 Indian languages. Give a free hand to chef Anand who can experiment and amaze you with his culinary skills. Try Kashmiri bread with butter and apple cinnamon jam. For travellers who would like to watch TV this place would disappoint you as in principle it's against the theme. For history lovers make sure to read a letter from the office of Neil Armstrong dated 1972. A vote of thanks to tariq, kiran, azad and Anand for their wonderful hospitality. "

Muang La Lodge: "A Perfect Getaway"

Review by: Soonie Soontaru... W | Source: Trip Advisor
It was one of the best weekend breaks ever, 10 hours door to door travelling didn't mean anything, the moment we arrived at the lodge, we felt that this is a true gem. The place is just perfect in all aspects, tranquil location, stylish rooms, lovely landscaped garden, picturesque surroundings, sumptuous food, most importantly friendly and caring crews who delivered the service from their hearts with warm hospitality. We have been very impressed, and I can say that it is even better than some luxury resorts in the region. The only regret is that it was too short this time, we will definitely be going back and enjoy more. Thank you making our 3 night-stay an enjoyable break. See you again.

Jing’s Residence: "A wonderful experience in the old city of Pingyao"

Review by: Boblionie | Source: Trip Advisor
"A truly wonderful experience. Jings is located in a traditional Pingyao building. When you arrive the outside is a timber facing with large solid wooden doors. In reception there is a very strong feel of wood. The reception staff could not be more professional, helpful and caring. All staff spoke English. The rooms are set around two courtyards and these grey brick buildings have a very original feel. Our room had a large double bed on a raised area, sofa, chair, and desk with stool. The bathroom has a shower. The room has a mini bar (free of charge), mini safe, tea/coffee making facilities and very quiet air conditioning. Breakfast served in the dining room was very good and had local as well as western options. Nice and tranquil. On the first floor of the main reception dining area there is a bar and reading room. Afternoon tea was served there (included in the room rate). The hotel is just a few moments stroll from a host of restaurants and tourist shops. I am very pleased to recommend this residence if you want a truly authentic experience in most pleasant surroundings. Thank you to all the staff team for making our stay so enjoyable."

Villa Idanna: "A tranquil place at the foot of Mount Agusng"

Review by: blue_ring001 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"I stayed at this villa for 3 days and it was awesome for someone who wants to have a quiet village experience. You wake up and saw the holy Mount Agung in front of the villa. There is no TV or other electronic media in the villa so you just enjoy the experience without disruption. The villa is served by 4 local staff from the area, in fact one staff lives in front of the villa. For the entire 3 days we were served with local Sidemen dishes and they were fantastic. During the day, a lot of tourists mostly expatriates were seen cycling or walking around the village. At the top of the hill, I went to visit ibu Dayu a friend of many celebrities like Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Walter Spies. Her house is also facing Mount Agung, we had lunch and enjoyed her company."

Samanea Beach Resort: "Stunning rooms & views; disappointing food"

Review by: Boboli87 | Source: Trip Advisor
"A great 4 nights here with fantastic villas (they are enormous and luxurious) and breathtaking views over the bay. It was a perfect place to chill out. Don't expect a buzzing environment, everyone seemed to be here to unwind which was perfect for us. The pool was fab. The views are fantastic but don't expect to walk into the sea. There is a manmade beach but no natural beach (although no-where in kep seemed to have this unless you visit the Islands) but this didn't bother us at all. Unfortunately food was a bit of a let down. Breakfast was tasty and fresh (you can order as many items as you want) but otherwise dishes were far to small and expensive for what was served. Eat out in town for better food"

Satri House: "Great hotel"

Review by: GarethTarbard | Source: Trip Advisor
"We just returned from a 5 day family trip staying at Satri House. We had a great stay. The pool was perfect for our little girl, as the temperature this time of year gets pretty high. We eat in the hotel restaurant for most of our meals. I must say the Laos food was outstanding. The staff were brilliant throughout the whole hotel. Yes it was noisy with all the New year celebrations, but for residents to complain about this is pretty silly. I can guarantee there's pretty much music playing all over town, and its time for all the great people of Laos to celebrate and cool down with plenty of water fights. Thanks again. Gareth, Selene, Carol and Josie"
