Maisons Wat Kor: "Heaven hidden outside of the town for discerned traveller"
A hidden hotel with a beautiful pound and an amazing local architecture. What make this hotel different are the number of rooms, only very few rooms - each bungalow has 4 rooms , they all looks the same and could be the set for a movie. Rooms are large and nice bathroom. The life of the hotel is around the pound and the kitchen. You will feel more in somebody house rather than an hotel here. The hotel is few minutes away from the town, but the tuktuk will take you there through a small village.Wow Borneo: "A wildlife and village immersion with hardworking crew!"
What a totally amazing experience for us all. We saw proboscis monkeys, trekked like intrepid adventurers into the jungle, and saw a beautiful adult male. We rescued a water monitor lizard from a fishing trap, saw river otters and caught our own fish. All of this was made completely wonderful by our guide, Made, who bought the adventurer out in us all. The boys absolutely loved him, and he was knowledgeable, entertaining, and very accommodating of all our needs, including getting out beds for us to watch shooting stars. The jungle is hot and sticky and boats are difficult to make luxurious, but the wonderful food, really attentive crew, and endless supply of coffee and freshly squeezed juice made it a wonderful experience. There are lots of really sweet touches like scrubbing our Maddie, checking shoes and bringing breakfast in bed to a teen who wasn’t feeling great. Highly recommend to any family adventurers.Villa Song Saigon: "Amazing boutique hotel"
An amazing boutique hotel besides the Saigon river. Normal rooms are a little small but the suites are amazing. My spouse and I stayed in a suite with balcony and we truely loved it. Everything is just great. All staff are most pleasant and Freddie at the terrace restaurant made sure we were well taken care of. For my birthday, flowers with a personal card was delivered to our suite; how attentive!. A private boat takes you from the hotel to the city (district 1) and at specified times, the boat will bring you back. We stayed 4 nights at this wonderful hotel and we enjoyed every minute of it!Tugu Malang: "One of the World’s Great Hotels"
"It is rare to find a hotel where service is flawless in every detail: The Tugu Malang, one of the world's few truly great hotels, is such a place: The hotel is of such astonishing beauty and the staff are such nice hard-working people, anxious to please in every way, that the Tugu is in fact a destination in itself. If you have no other reason to stop in Malang, then do so to enjoy the extraordinary pleasures of the Tugu. The rooms are ravishing, each one with some element of art and designed thoughtfully for maximum comfort. Exotic fruits await you; the bed is turned down with a friendly note before you go to sleep. Want your shoes cleaned? They come back polished better than when they were new. Breakfast includes almost unlimited pleasures: the menu is vast and you can combine local and Western dishes. Everything is both artful and delicious and the restaurant setting is a work of art in itself. Afternoon tea is included, with an array of local delicacies, served with the ever-present Tugu charm. The hotel owner has built a world-class museum into the hotel. Seemingly endless antiques and art are fabulously displayed; and the best part is that the hotel supplies a brilliant and knowledgeable tour guide to take you round. My guide was Wahyu, who clearly loves the hotel and told me he takes considerable amounts of time to research the objects on display so as to give the best presentation. His tour was completely involving because of his intelligence and enthusiasm -- it felt like being a celebrity receiving a highly-privileged personal presentation from the head curator of a national museum! I do hope that management will recognize Wahyu's excellence and ensure his career development in both museum curating and management! Reception also has the best people: kind, knowledgeable, helpful. They can get you wherever you want in town and make any needed arrangements for you. If you'd like to visit Bromo I'd highly recommend taking the cross-desert route from Malang: it is highly scenic and also quite surreal in places. I did the trip the other way round by ojek (motorbike taxi), but you can also do it by jeep and the Tugu can make arrangements. The ability to take this mindbending route is reason enough to stay in Malang. But you don't even need that reason. The rare graciousness, fragrant beauty, opulence, detailed service and pure delight that exemplifies everything the Tugu stands for means that you should head for the Tugu if you are anywhere in the region for no other reason than to stay in one of the most fabulous five-star hotels in the world at a price for which you would get something only very ordinary in the USA or Europe. This is a best of the best, a treasure, a complete delight: don't miss the opportunity to stay there!"Amata Lanna: "Best place to stay in Chiang Mai"
We loved this hotel!!! We booked it because it looked "Thai" in it's decoration etc. It did not disappoint! It is on a quieter street, but still so close to the night market and good restaurants. The pool is smaller, but located inside the hotel's peaceful courtyard. The staff were so kind and attentive. Honestly, this is such a great hotel. I would book immediately if you can. It is smaller, so I'm guessing as word gets out how wonderful it is, that it will sell out fast. Take my advice and stay here when you are in Chiang Mai!!Supanniga Cruise: "Supanniga Cruise Menu"
Wow! What a nice surprise. This was my first river cruise in Bangkok, and I never really expected a Thai gourmet dinner. The food was very good and beautifully presented. There was: Taittinger champagne and an Amuse Bouche of fried Thai mackerel wrapped with Chaplu leaves, an Appetizer of 3 minced pork stir-fried with garlic and peanuts, pomelo salad with grilled prawn and spicy minced chicken salad, a Soup- Thai spicy soup with jumbo prawn, then 5 main dishes- pork, crab, fish and "Son-in-law" eggs, Dessert- mango sticky rice (the mango had been shaped into a flower) and to finish Petit Fours and Tea. All outstanding4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Floating holiday"
Very enjoyable weekend on kayaks, in waterfalls, jumping into the river. The staff was very helpful, and we enjoyed the meals. After the busyness of Phnom Penh, 4 Rivers was a perfect escape. Glamping turned out to be a lot of fun, and I recommend 4 Rivers.Manda De Laos: "Delicious"
The food was delicious, we had the green papaya salad which was spicy but not too rip your head off hot! The staff were attentive and friendly, with beautiful surroundings and really cheap. Couldn't ask for more.Rachamankha: "A peaceful haven"
My husband and my self visited Chiangmai in 1997 and stayed at the Rachamankha. The feeling of being transported to another world is really true. This hotel is in the midst of the city but the exquisite lay out of the interior and exterior is pretty hard to beat. We spend our winters in Chiangmai since then and visit Rachamankha every week to simply enjoy the tranquility of this wonderful hotel. The staff is very attentive and very well trained. They almost guess and jump to your needs before you can voice them. The kitchen is a very good a mix of Thai and European cuisine. Good wines. We really consider ourselves fortunate to have discovered this gem. I was impressed by the owners astute insight into the the Thai culture which he has presented in his unique style. We are fans of RachamankaTugu Bali: "A Gem!"
"Hotel Tugu is a peaceful oasis in busy Bali. The hotel is uniquely furnished, more like a museum really. The staff extraordinarily friendly. The rooms, grounds, everything is very clean and well kept. You have a choice of western, traditional Indonesian or the amazing ""power bowl"" breakfast. I also took advantage of the spa services at the hotel - pricey, but not disappointing. This was our first trip to Bali and stop 1 of 4 on the island. We heard but didn't quite understand the beaches aren't clean nor are the streets walkable any great distance. Canggu is no exception to either. However, we were pleased with the selection of eateries walkable from the hotel - we enjoyed Old Man's, Fika, Betelnut. We didn't miss the beach with the hotel's beautiful, refreshing pool. If you are looking for a peaceful or romantic get-away with unique appointments and an exceptional staff with great attention to detail, I highly recommend Hotel Tugu. Stayed March 2017, traveled with family"
