sandat glamping: "Romantic getaway"

Review by: Lyndal H | Source: tripadvisor.com
"Thanks Sandat for a truly lovely and relaxing few days! Passing through busy Ubud your driver takes you along narrow local roads, passed rice paddies and suddenly you are in a luxurious oasis. We found this to be the perfect mix of serenity allowing us to chill out but close to Ubud's restaurants, shops and attractions when we wanted more action. The staff were attentive but not invasive, the food at the restaurant tasty and fresh (we ate in a couple of times and in Ubud a couple of times), I would thoroughly recommend the Glamping tents for a romantic getaway which is slightly different to a traditional hotel."

Flower Island Resort: "A gem in paradise"

Review by: Louise N | Source: Trip Advisor
"We spent four nights here and loved it.The island is small with only one resort with a capacity to accommodate about 40 people. However, by the looks of it, the usual occupancy is about 10 guests at the time. The rooms are at the lower-end standard. Most have just a fan, but some have A/C. The double bed is small and with the bednet effectively stopping any circulation of air. I ended up sleeping on the extra bed, which was fine. The bathroom is big, but if you are one to enjoy hot showers - this is not the place. BUT; having said all this, Flower Island resort really was the place that made our holiday an unforgettable memory. The location on the island is just fabulous. The staff is outstanding, helpful and doing anything to ensure you have a great time. They offer super nice excursions at a fair price including lunch and drinks. Don’t miss the pearl farm which is really interesting and worth seeing. Also, the walk up to the tower is well worth the effort. The view is spectacular and you can even sleep up there and wake to sunrise... Snorkling; can probably not get much better these days when corrals are mostly dead or dying. But there is a lot of fish and we were lucky to see sea-turtles. Food has received various comments on this site. We found it quite good, although, since it is all-inclusive you don’t get to choose in case you don’t like what’s on today’s buffet. If you are looking for peace and a quite combined with excursions and the odd massage, this is as good as it gets."

Dewakan: "Molecular gastronomy and haute cuisine for traditional Malay flavours"

Review by: LondonConyers | Source: Trip Advisor
"The best meal I have ever eaten, and my wife thought the same. And we have eaten in a lot of excellent restaurants around the world. This relatively new restaurant must be heading for a Michelin star before very long. The 10 course tasting menu included some of the finest and most surprising dishes I have ever tasted. Outrageously bold and delicious flavour and texture combinations using traditional Malay flavours and local ingredients, served with genuine flair for presentation. The staff provide wonderful service in this small restaurant currently housed in KDU university buildings. Go. Go soon before it becomes impossible to get a table. Go so you can tell people you supported this chef and this restaurant before they were famous."

Tugu Bali: "An amazing experience"

Review by: VILLAEXOTIQUE | Source: Trip Advisor
A few days ago my wife and I were fortunate enough to have the absolute pleasure of staying at the amazingly beautiful TUGU HOTEL. We cannot be more complimentary about the facilities, the ambiance and the staff, who themselves left us in awe at their willingness to please us at every opportunity. We dined at the adjoining Ji Restaurant which should be placed on everyone's 'TO DO' list, as dining there is remarkable....the food, the staff, and the cocktails are beyond compare. A truly exhilarating experience and the Balinese Dancers were a cultural 'plus' and one that we are very keen to repeat!

The Village House: "Fabulous retreat-you must stay here"

Review by: Emily T | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed at The Village house in mid August this year (2015), and we loved every minute of our stay. The rooms are luxurious, wonderfully comfortable and thoughtfully and tastefully decorated. The hotel itself is stunning, everything has been done for you to effortlessly enjoy the stunning surroundings and allow you to fully relax. We took lots of trips from The Village House, all of which were excellent and extremely hassle free. We ate in the restaurant every day and never had a bad meal, again a really thoughtfully put together menu and everything was fabulous. The greatest accolade goes tot eh staff, they are amazing, made us feel very welcome and at home, fantastic experience."

Maison Polanka: "A little slice of paradise"

Review by: SW777139 | Source: Trip Advisor
Tucked away down a maze of non-descipt unpaved lane, the gates open, and you are in a little slice of paradise. A garden you can tell has been tended for with love and care. Traditional wooded huts on stilts that house 5 rooms. Each room is different, spacious, simple and tasteful decor. We stayed 4 nights in the Yellow Room and loved it: it's at the far end, so very quiet. Loved the lemongrass essence burning when we checked in. Windows looking out to greenery. Bed is very comfortable. The bathrooom is spacious and bright with very high ceiling and a skylight. There is a smallish but beautiful pool, we had a swim every day after a morning's sight-seeing, then lunch at the pool side restaurant. The food is delicious: my first taste of Cambodian, a bit like Thai and Vietnamese, but more delicate flavours. Dinner at the pool side is wonderful, quiet, great food, great wine, very attentive service. There is a dog, a rabbit, a cat...Don't stay in a run-of-the-mill 5 star chain, I warmly recommend Maison Polanka, it's a stay you will remember

Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "A real highlight of our trip"

Review by: IntrepidReiser | Source: Trip Advisor
"What they are doing at the Inle Heritage should be used as an example for the rest of Myanmar and for other hotels in emerging markets. Service was fantastic, at first we felt a little overwhelmed with all of the greetings and personal care from the staff.. given that there are 4 times as many staff as guests you may understand why it may feel like this, but after a short while we realised that they are all genuinely lovely, friendly staff that are eager to please and interact with you.. We embraced it. We visited during a very heavy storm and a very large piece of bamboo was hitting against the side of our room, we only mentioned it briefly to a junior member of staff on the way to breakfast and by the time we returned from our day trip it had been cut back.. A huge bamboo tree that would need some serious work.. We were extremely impressed with the effort. Food was excellent and the setting beautiful. Thanks Inle Heritage and keep up your efforts! Stayed January 2016, traveled as a couple"
