Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Can’t miss in Siem Reap"
"Happened to stumble on this place after wandering around Siem Reap looking for dinner and was able to be seated without a reservation. That was a stroke of good fortune because this restaurant was exceptional. If you're in Siem Reap, do yourself a favor and visit this establishment. It's pricey for SR standards, but great value for the quality, especially if you're coming from an expensive city. And try the Margarita."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A must see"
"The so called Blue Mansion located on 14 Leith Street, is one of the places you cannot miss in Georgetown ,Penang. There is a 45 minute daily tour at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3.30 p.m and the price is around 17 RM per adult. These tours are in English but there are tours available in other languages as well. The only thing that you won't like about it, is that it is not permitted to take photographs inside the house, which is a pity because it's beautiful. In spite of this drawback the mansion is worth visiting . The mansion is also a boutique hotel for those who want a traditional style accommodation and there is a restaurant as well. Visit my blog The Leisure Diaries to see some pictures."The Apsara Rive Droite: "Peace and Pleasure"
"I can't recommend this place more highly. A boat ride across the Nam Khan river from the Old Town, it is a haven of peace (no kids allowed!). No TV in the rooms. Excellent insect management. Delicious fruit and cooked breakfast individually prepared. Free airport transfers. Free bikes. Very helpful and friendly staff. Spotlessly clean. The hotel is a little piece of personal paradise within the paradise that is Luang Prabang. As a tip, the local monks walk past collecting alms around 7am and is an untouristy experience that the once in central LP."Rachamankha: "Quaint hotel"
Beautiful hotel and room. Loved the design and the property overall. A magical place for sure. Please make the effort to book it if in Chiang Mai. Stayed only one night in a Grand Deluxe room but would have liked to stay for more.Glenburn Tea Estate: "It is a beautifully located property on the crest of a hill giving you a 360 degree view of all the hills around"
"This boutique hotel gives you the experience of complete tranquility, as it is situated in the middle of a tea estate surrounded by luxuriant greenery. The bird life, the changing cloud patterns and occasional rain immerses you in nature and your inner self. The staff is very obliging and attentive and the cuisine is delectable. A total experience."Villa Song Saigon: "Thank god we stayed at this hotel in HCMC"
I am so glad we stayed in this hotel. We said it about 5 times a day how happy we were that we chose this hotel. HCMC is a big dirty busy city and this hotel is a little haven in HCMC. The other hotels we walked into in the city were very old and tired and i didnt see one I would have preferred to have stayed in. If we had stayed in town as our final stop of a fantastic holiday we would have been very very disappointed. It is a beautiful hotel, everything is brand new. Our bedroom was a standard bedroom and was very big with a very big shower. The pool is so relaxing. The only thing we were worried about was this hotel is in District 2 however it didn't matter as we caught the speed boat into town when we wanted and they gave us a mobile phone to call when we needed to be picked up - it is a 10 min boat road and very relaxing trip. I would stay here again and again and would not bother looking at hotels in HCMC D1. When you get off the speed boat the city is right there so that is not a problem either. My only complaint of this hotel is the service is not spot on and needs polishing. We constantly had to wave the waiters over for drinks and when we were at the pool they were nowhere to be seen (there is a bell to ring but they are slow to come) however this would not deter me from staying here again.Manda De Laos: "Romantic dinner by the pond"
We stayed at Maison Dalabua (same property) and were lucky to get reservations the first night of our stay. Great food (Laotian with a French touch). Good cocktails and all at very moderate prices - maybe not for local standads (one can eat cheaper in town) but considering the quality of food very reasonably priced. The Apsara Rive Droite: "Wonderful hotel with first-class service from friendly staff"
"Everything about the Aspara Rive Droitte is just right. Mr Ai and Mr Hann (the management team) and Mr Ivan (the owner) went out of their way to make our stay wonderful and all the other staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, with the hotel's dedicated Aspara Queen taking 60 seconds to cross the Nam Khan and deliver you to the heart of Luang Prabang - and, conversely, escape to the more serene side of the Nam Khan. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, and breakfast wonderful. The pool is a welcome relief from the heat of Laos, with the bar just a few steps away. After 5 days at this home-from-home, we were sad to leave. We hope to go back"Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Small family run hotel"
Lovely stop on our travel through Cambodia. Food was excellent and rooms lovely. The pool area was being tidied when we were there so hopefully this is complete now. Loved the deep fried flowers we received with our drinks.Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A perfectly relaxing idyll with fabulous staff and great food"
We stayed here for 8 days in early January & loved it. The resort is situated on a very quiet beach with golden sands & has amazing views of the sunset every evening. The pool is large & there are plenty of (very comfortable) loungers & the grounds are pretty and well maintained. There are 2 restaurants which offer different & delicious menus each day. The rooms are large, comfortable & immaculate & I really liked the half open bathroom. I had one spa treatment which was reasonably priced & very relaxing - I also appreciated the free ayurvedic consultation beforehand. We also took an evening cruise along the back waters on a houseboat organised by the hotel - we were the only people on a quite large boat so that was lovely. What really makes the resort stand out is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - they were lovely all the way through but particularly on my husband's 50th birthday when they decorated his breakfast table with flowers, presented him with a bouquet, presented him with a personalised birthday cake (& the whole team turned out to sing happy birthday) & wrote happy birthday in flowers on the bed - all of this for free & without my requesting it. It made the day & the holiday so very special - we were really touched & very appreciative.
