leopard safaries: "Absolute respect for nature, top notch service, and food to die for"

Review by: MatMcDe | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We cannot recommend Leopard Safaris highly enough. We stayed at a range of accommodations while in Sri Lanka--from luxury eco-resorts to Airbnb--and Noel runs the most professional operation of them all, and leaves the high-end luxury resorts (e.g. Jetwing) in his dust. It felt like nothing was an issue, effort or burden for Noel and his team. All of his team are fantastic, but we worked with Saj the most and can’t speak highly enough of his welcoming and friendly nature, sense of humor, great enthusiasm and passion for what he does (i.e. revel in nature and wildlife!), and utmost professionalism. Seriously, Saj - will you be our friend?! ;o) (...)The campsite (accommodations, dining, lounge etc.) strike a great “glamping” balance - modern luxuries (e.g. porcelain toilet), but not excessively developed, so there is comfort without feeling like the area has been flattened for tourists (in fact, Noel replanted/reforested a lot of the area, having been cleared previously by farmers) - The traditional Sri Lankan food was the best bar none - we ate only traditional Sri Lankan food for our 3-week trip, from roadside to home-cooked meals to luxury dining, and not only were the meals at Leopard Safaris the best versions of what we’d eaten elsewhere, there were also a host of other traditional dishes we’d never seen (I’m converted to wood apples!) Thank you Noel, Saj, and everyone at Leopard Safari’s for a lifetime of memories and an all-too-brief stay. Please do keep to your values and good work, and hopefully we can come back soon!"

Discover Muang La | Visit Laos | Luxury & Boutique Hotel: "Probably the best place I have ever stayed"

Review by: Kate M | Source: Trip Advisor
"My family and I spent two nights in this hotel as part of our trip around Laos in early January. I was immediately impressed by the homeliness of the hotel and the warm welcome we received from the lovely Dutch manager. The pool is absolutely stunning and the hot pools are so nice to spend time in. My only qualm is that the water in the hot spring is normally far too hot so it might be slightly better to mix the water with some cooler water. The staff are all very attentive, however the a la carte nature of the meals means that it can often take a little while for your coffee to arrive. The quality of the food is Michelin star. The dinners are amazing and I love how they involve so much local food. I would say that there is possibly a little too few carbohydrates for my teenage brother and I and some bread on the table would not have gone to waste. The rooms are really very nice, the shower was really warm unlike some of the other places we had stayed in Laos. The things I like most about this hotel are the ways in which they think about everything you could need. For example they offer to clean your shoes for you after a day of walking around the mountain villages or how they place towels by the hot tubs so you don't have to remember your own or how they create a little fire pit next to your table at dinner to keep you warm. My favourite must have been when we came home from dinner the first night to find a hot water bottle in the bed. Absolutely amazing! The activity that we went on was really interesting. Our guide was very well informed and answered all our questions. They were also very willing to adapt to our requests such as visiting the local health centre."

muang la: "What a wonderful oasis"

Review by: Anna D | Source: tripadvisor.com
"Visited very briefly during an extended planned trip and had to be dragged away otherwise we would have quite happily stayed for a lot longer!! Staff couldn't have been more attentive or friendly and every little detail had been thought through thoroughly to make you feel special. Thoroughly recommended"

Manukan Island Resort: "Superb"

Review by: yusufyaran | Source: Trip Advisor
Amazing scenery, excellent beach, brilliantly designed tree houses, very good foods and well trained employees. Manukan island has the best beach in the area in terms of soil and snorkelling and this resort makes the experience even better one

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "residing in a museum"

Review by: pdelangestorck | Source: Trip Advisor
Perfect place to stay for a few nights, very central to the downtown heritage streets and close to the beach front as well. Service is very attentive and the rooms have all the comfort you need on top of the stylish ambiance and grandeur of a historical mansion.

Inle Princess Resort: "Beautiful hotel on the water"

Review by: Luckyd78 | Source: Trip Advisor
We absolutely loved our time at the Princess Beautiful and large room with a fire lit each night. Stunning view over the lake. Excellent spa treatments. Restaurant was rather disappointing as lacking atmosphere after 8pm. Definitely a 60+ resort Stay here or the Aureum

Manda De Laos: "Great food, stunning location"

Review by: jojomartin | Source: Trip Advisor
"This place serves great food, but the view is simply out of this world. Sit by the pool if you can. The staff spoke excellent English and the management is French. Their professionalism shows. This simply is an excellent choice to eat great food and make happy memories."

Amata Lanna: "Gorgeous hotel and incredibly helpful staff"

Review by: Andrew J | Source: Trip Advisor
My friends and I stayed at the Amata Alanna recently on our first trip to Chiang Mai, and it was about the nicest stay we've had in quite some time. The property was beautiful, the breakfast service was delicious, and the rooms were incredible! The staff was probably the best part - they suggested places for us to go during both the day and night, and the girl at the front desk was super friendly and knowledgeable (and a fantastic English speaker, so great for those visiting). We are looking forward the next trip back and will definitely stay again.

Tugu Bali: "Simply perfect!"

Review by: kjm2017dxb | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed at Hotel Tugu for 5 nights in April in one of the Dedari Suites (with a private pool). The second you walk into the hotel you know that you are going to have an amazing time. It is stunning and has a lot of art and statues and is very tranquil. We were given a welcome drink and orientation to the hotel and then taken to our room. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The rooms are enormous, have a 4 poster bed, gorgeous bathrooms with a sunken bath, shower and separate toilet. The garden area was equally stunning with a swing sofa and pool - not big enough to exercise in but bigger than a plunge pool I would say. One thing that for me really set this hotel apart was the fact that you can eat from the a la carte menu anywhere in the hotel or grounds that you choose. In addition, breakfast was included and you also order this from the a la carte menu any time of day from 7am. This was a massive bonus - too many times on holiday you force yourself out of bed to go to breakfast but we had it in our room every day and the choice available was excellent. Afternoon tea is served every day in the lobby every day. Also, if you get the chance we had one of their set meals one night and ate in the private dining room which is like a little museum full of curios and the food was incredible. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They can't do enough for you and were always smiling and polite. The rooms were kept beautifully clean and the Balinese massage at the spa was so relaxing my husband almost fell asleep! The location is also great. Just note that although it is set by the beach (so you can hear the waves at night) that the actual hotel is not on the beachfront and there are no sun loungers available on the sand. This wasn't a problem for us but it may be for some people. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. It was relaxing, beautiful and interesting - just what we needed for a few days of peace and tranquillity!"

Hotel Tugu Lombok: "The Most Beautiful Resort I’ve Ever Been"

Review by: Oriana T | Source: Trip Advisor
"My last birthday, I wanted to go somewhere quiet and unique. So I opt for one of my favourite hotel group: Tugu in Lombok. Tugu hotels are known for their design and stories. The owner is known as one of Indonesia's biggest antiques collectors, and his collection is so big that whenever he build a hotel or a restaurant, the place will be filled with antiques with lots of stories. This is exactly what I got. Their Lobby is an antique house called Rumah Ampenan from the Dutch inquisition era, brought to Sire Beach for safekeeping. Their restaurant is called the Bale Kokok Pletok because its roof is shaped like a chicken - and it is made inspired by the tale of Dewi Sri. The whole resort is filled with stories and history of how the thing was made. And all the staff will happily share the stories with you. So they made my whole trip really memorable. Other than the design part, the whole place is super eco friendly yet still have modern convenience and great amenities. There are two main pools available, aside the ones in the villas. But you might find it hard to leave the beach because it is filled with white soft sands and quiet waves. We love everything about our trip at Hotel Tugu Lombok. Oh and the food is great too. Their policy is to have breakfast anywhere you want, and we chose to have it in our room on the first morning, and by the beach on the second one. Not just anywhere, but you can order anything you want too. AMAZING!"
