Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Fine dining at very good value for money"
So pleased I reserved this restaurant 90 days before we got there! It is so much in demand and I am not surprised. We chose the 6-course dinner accompanied by their recommended wine and with each course you look forward to the next one. Art on a plate and simply delicious. Just $31 for the 6-courses! Unheard of!!! Chef came round each table for our comments which we really did appreciate especially when the restaurant is so busy. The hostess was also very helpful and pleasant.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Relaxation, Views & Friendly Service"
Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge was an amazing place to stay. Impeccable service and incredible views. Ask to go for a walk around the local village or enjoy a spot of bird watching. The fire pit is a great place to spend some time in the evening. I would highly recommend the experience.CABOCHON: "Lovely small hotel"
"Old colonial style boutique hotel with friendly staff. Quiet location on side street. Lovely rooms with interesting furniture and artefacts. Small pool on roof. Lovely smell of burning candles throughout. Cute little restaurant if you don't feel like walking out. Good Thai food plus western options available. Breakfast was good too. Good wifi connection. "Kinabalu Park: "Cool with strong wind"
Rm3/head entry u hv to pay. Remember to pay at entry. Either u can park ur car at entry if u wanted to enjoy walk o jz drive-in. Bware drive slow with headlights 'on' as road is narrow. Very cool there as wind very very strong. I cant c too much view as weather not allow.Satri House: "Charming and Excellent"
"I've not had such a great hotel experience in a long time, and considering at the pace i'd been travelling in the past 2 months to UK, Africa and Singapore, the staff at Satri house was a great respite in making me enjoy travelling again. I'm sure the magical town has its own charms too, but this great boutique really made the trip much more magical. The location is very good, although not smacked in the middle of the old town, you can get there by foot easily, with just a 10 minute stroll, or 2 minutes on the hotel's bicycle (traffic in Luang Prabang is so light, you'll fell safe even on the main roads). The building itself is a gorgeous colonial building and it's as if you've stepped back in time when you enter the hotel through the corridor of bamboo tress in the walk way. My room was on the ground floor, and was charmingly appointed in a classical style with four poster bed that staff will drape over with the mosquito net during turn down. The bed was firm and comfortable, and there was a pillow menu available too. In room, there were plenty of bottled mineral water to let you stay hydrated. i also like the lack of a TV in the room so you have no choice but to linger in the amazing lawn or pool side, or explore the town. The bathroom has a nice rain shower and another hand held shower faucet, and is spacious. Everywhere you walk on this property, staffs will smile and ask how your day is. Even the property manager, is constantly seen moving around, chatting and talking to guests. One afternoon, I was walking and saw him form a distance - he immediately ended his call on his cell while i was still 50 meters away and greeted me when I approached. It's this little touched that makes one feel so valued as a guest. When I checked in, the staff was so eager to tell me the sights I should visit and offered to help me plan a day trip to the waterfalls, which I had given up trying to go prior to my arrival as it seemed so far, and had it not been the help and information offered, I'd be so sad to pass the trip to witness the amazing falls. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone as it's a great place to stay in Luang Prabang!"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Blue Heaven”“Blue Heaven"
Calm, spacious, ultimate attention to detail. The blue lime washed walls fill your vision. The very high ceilings leave room for generous breeze ways. It is residing in your personal but extravagant fantasy. And it is a very shot walk to Red Garden, the outdoor food hall of your dreams.Villa Song Saigon: "Blissful place for anniversary"
"We had our wedding ceremony here 5 years before the renovation and they had added more rooms at the expense of some common balconies that used to be there. This time we travelled back to SGN for a visit and celebrate our anniversary. Booked the Art Suite and it was so comfy with river view especially early in the morning. Opted for Vietnamese breakfast and simply loved the deli beef pho as well as the rice roll with minced meat. The iced coffee milk was great. The breaky was just simply superb! Indeed the whole place is blissful especially when enjoying the breeze sitting by the river. We had a surprise anniversary cake from them too and many thanks to Ms Nhu, Freddie and Yega for making our stay memorable. What is regrettable was the Thao Dien Village now which used to be part of Villa Song is now separated under different stakeholder. We were there to take photos but was bluntly told off not to do so unless we informed the management there. Utterly annoyed with such rudeness from someone in hospitality industry."Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Best Meal – Must Eat Here"
"Spectacular experience! Food, setting, service - all were perfect. The chef really draws on Cambodian flavors and seasonal fruit and vegetables, and combines them in an impeccably thought-out menu. The fish and seafood dishes were particularly delicious - although we loved everything we ate. You could easily pay three or four times the price for this standard of menu in the US. I cannot recommend Cuisine Wat Damnak highly enough. They were very accommodating of my pescatarian diet. And it was such a charming and relaxed dining experience. Ps. Opt for the fan seating rather than the A/C as the fan seating is in the more charming upstairs of the restaurant. Make reservations at least a few weeks in advance. I would also recommend the tamarind collins if you would like a cocktail with dinner."Manda De Laos: "Best of the best"
"Manda was recommended to me,and i am very thankfull. It is without any doubt the best and most beautifull place to have diner in Laos( not only Luang Prabang) The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere, the food is FANTASTIC. We tried the top 5 on tripadvisor and believe me this place is on a different level. Definatelly no1 ++++"Manda De Laos: "Fantastic food and location"
We stayed right across the road from this restaurant and so decided to splash out a bit and have a meal here. The restaurant setting was beautiful. We walked in without a reservation and were given a table right by the lily pond - however it is low season at the moment and we went quite early (around 6pm). The food was superb! The starters were definitely the highlight - we had the traditional sausage and the papaya salad with melting pork both of which were delicious!! It's definitely expensive for SE Asia, but we really enjoyed our meal here and would go back. We paid around £45 for two courses and a cocktail each for two people.
