Tugu Lombok: "Quirky and Charming"
What a delight the Tugu is. My husband and I had 3 nights here in a Bhaghavat gita suite. This could not be faulted, with its unusual outside bathroom and superb view to the beach it was lovely. The staff are charming, helpful and keen to make your holiday the very best for you. Being able to eat dinner wherever in the grounds or on the beach watching the fisherman walking at low tide catching squid was a unique experience. We took a trip in a horse and cart round the local village and saw the sunset at another beach (the one at the Tugu is for sunrise!). The beach is amazing and with the Gilli isles in sight, the view is lovely. The whole place is very relaxed and I would say they have the recipe just right. "This hotel is excellent, I will certainly return. From the pick up at the airport, tea on route and the well appointed rooms I really can't fault it, the views from anywhere in the hotel are breathtaking, the food, although limited in choice is excellent, if you like walking and enjoy peace and quite this would be a great choice, additionaly the tea plantation and working factory are a great visit. We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Cabochon Hotel and already cannot wait to return. A 5-10 minute walk from Phrom Phong BTS station off Sukhumvit- the location was ideal. Close to public transport, restaurants and shopping. The hotel is incredibly beautiful and filled with antiques and interesting things to look at. It was wonderful to return to such a calm and quiet space after a busy day out in the city. We stayed in a studio room and found it to be perfectly adequate for our needs. The bed and linen was comfortable, the air conditioning great and the general design of the room and furniture extremely chic. Breakfast is served from 7:00am to 10:00pm and we loved the continental buffet as well as the a la carte choices which included both Asian and Western options. The staff are extremely friendly and couldn't help us enough. They answered all our questions and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We will definitely stay at the Cabochon on our future visits to Bangkok and will be telling all our friends and family about it too!Villa Song Saigon: "Luxury in a crazy city"
We stayed 2 nights on our way to do Son Doong. This is a wonderful boutique hotel full of French charm. The pool, gym and rooms all well equipped. The breakfast by the river was a lovely start to the day you just wonder down anytime you like. We used the free sped boat to the city which we found easy and fun. We had dinner at the restaurant one night and the food was awesome together with fantastic service. My only complaint would be the restaurant just didn't have the same charm as the rest of this beautiful hotel.The Village House: "Rustic with a touch of luxury"
"Definitely a place to consider when travelling to Kuching. It's 40minutes away from town so do consider renting a car to get about. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even went out of their way to drop us off at the foothills of santubong mountain which is 5minutes away. There's no 24hr concierge but if you inform them on time they will stay up to greet you and even prepare meals if you pre-order. Accommodation is clean. Nice rooms and bathrooms and clean sheets and towels. Breakfast isn't fantastic but there's a variety to fill you up. I only stayed 1 night this time around but I really wanted to go back as I was in the area again. Once you enter the gate, you are in a secluded area, although the main road is just behind. The peacefulness that emanates from the grounds forces you to switch off. Not much to do at the property but that's the whole point: listen to nature around you, watch the life on the Mekong and just relax!!Mudanwan Villa: "Will want to go"
