Dewakan: "Great experience"
"Just checked their website and they seemed to have changed their menu! Seems like what I had was a mixture of their old menu and the new one. Snacks (Choy Sum Nori, Beef Tendons, Mango Curry, Yoghurt and Roselle): Choy Sum Nori was quite cool and memorable! The others were ... interesting? Could be too weird for some. Starters (Blue Mackerel, Roast Mushrooms, Grilled Vegetables, Home Made Noodles): Quite liked the roast mushrooms. Was told to eat from right to left, but perhaps plating it from left to right would be make more sense since most people hold their forks on the left and knives on the right? Just a suggestion! The noodles weren't that great, however. Mains (Pike Conger, Duck, Quail): The highlight of the night! I really loved each of the 3 main dishes, but sadly two of them don't seem to be on the new menu anymore. Probably one of the most memorable dishes I've had. Desserts (Mulberries, Gula Melaka, Chocolate Tart, Popsicles): The 3 desserts from the menu were great. At the end they gave us 3 additional popsicles even though we were absolutely stuffed by then. Really didn't like the weird popsicle flavours, but to each their own perhaps? Can't imagine it would be popular since none of us liked the popsicles. Service was great, however some were a little too soft-spoken when it came to explaining the dishes. Not sure if having descriptions left on the table would be too tacky but I would love to have something to refer to while eating."Samanea Beach Resort: "“Stunning location – pontoon into the sea a great plus”"
"We were only there for one night, but it's a spectacular location - 12 nicely designed bungalows in a green park where you can't see or hear your neighbors. There were two Khmer families shooting their wedding albums - which gives you some idea of how nice it was - and with a 25 mètre pool you don't need to do into the sea - but there is a 59 mètre or so pier which takes you over the initial mud and far enough out that the sea is easy to swim in Food was excellent - although slightly bizarrely they had no fish or crabs. Extremely Eco friendly, and very nice staff Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"The Island Lodge: "A haven of peace in the Mekong Delta OK"
"This is a beautifully conceived boutique resort of 12 rooms, whose hosts and staff couldn't be more accommodating, warm and gracious. It is right on the Mekong River just 1-1/2 hours from the bustle and chaos of Saigon. Michel, the French owner and creative force behind this idyllic lodge, and his wife, Francoise, go above and beyond to cater to your every need. It is managed in a professional and gracious manner. The lodge arranged our transport from Saigon and back to the airport which went without a hitch. In fact I left my cellphone in the car. The driver found it; there wasn't enough time to retrieve it before my flight, but the lodge assured me they would get it to me and I received it at my next destination well packaged and Michel refused our offers to reimburse them for the postage and handling, saying it was their pleasure. What a lovely gesture. Fabulous pool overlooking the river, wonderful open dining room, tastefully decorated to a high standard. Rooms are beautiful, comfortable and beautifully situated. Ours was in the garden (we chose to have a bathtub rather than the river view) and the setting among the ponds, water lillies, little bridges was perfect. We took a half day trip on the river, designed for tourists, but our guide was knowledgeable and interesting and even the kitschy coconut candy making, ride on a Vietnamese rowboat down.a small tree canopied canal, paddled by two Vietnamese women (occasionally men), honey tea service was fun and educational. (No pressure to buy anything). I had two massage sessions (one an herbal with balls) and both were fabulous -- and very reasonably priced. Couldn't ask for a nicer couple of days. Sea Dance was a romantic place to stay for our 5 nights in Koh Samui. It's about a 7 minute drive from Chaweng but the property itself is tucked away from the main road and major downtown areas. We enjoyed the cooking class, the friendly staff, the free kayaking, the swing on the beach, our private pool and the main resort pool, beautiful ocean views, and live music on 2 of our 5 nights there! The staff are all very friendly and professional.Sukoon Houseboat: "Perfect choice for Dal Lake"
We planned to spend 4 nights on a houseboat on Lake Dal and spent much time reading TA reviews and reviews from other sites. We selected the Sukoon based on these reviews and the new construction as we feared older boats may have a musty and damp smell. After looking at so many other boats during our 5 days on Lake Dal we are sure we made the correct decision. The service was professional, the rooms as described -- new. clean and well appointed. The food was good and the meal service superb. Customer service was a high point. A real plus for the Sukoon was the location at the far end of the lake away from almost all houseboats. This is important as most boats are located in a chock-a-block fashion with little if any privacy. They arranged our tours and other needs. We would definitely choose the Sukoon when we return and return we will as Srinagar is a fabulous destination that deserves more the 5 days. Our only regret was not having arranged airport pick up ahead of time. The airport arrival area is chaotic to say the least due to security procedures and most taxi drivers had no idea where the Sukoon was located --- there are well over 500 houseboats on the lake so this would be expected.Supanniga Eating Room: "Excellent Local Cuisine"
Great restaurant offering local cuisine in a comfortable & stylish environment. Easy walk from several hotels. We arrived without a reservation & a table was quickly found for us despite it being busy. The service was good & fairly prompt. The menu has a nice variety of meat, fish & veg options. A great choice & good evening.David’s Kitchen: "A true definition of Dinner Experience"
I had never felt so incredibly welcome at any other restaurant in the world! Since the first second I got there, everything was absolutely fantastic! David himself and all the staff put on an enormous effort to make sure everyone in the restaurant is having the best experience a dinner could possibly be. Of course, the food is splendid! I can say without any doubt that I had the best dinner experience of my life! Hats off to these guys!Heritage Suites: "Old but goal"
It soooo Wonderful hotel it kind like you lived in 90's in French :) but luxury model decor . Beautiful view for walking or I will tell you some if you had honeymoon come here and take a photoshoot with there view and grab a wine and dinnerTHE SAMAR: "Very different and lovely"
"We booked this hotel quite a while ago and having read some of the more recent reviews I had started to get a little worried. I meed not have worried! We stayed here for 3 nights with our children (14&12). We were the only guests in the hotel at the time. We had two rooms which were joined by a living room and two large bathrooms. Beautiful. The hotel arranged our airport transfer which I would recommend. The pool is lovely and although they had problems with the filter at the time we stayed they had this fixed. The area around the pool is beautiful. The breakfast choice is limited but don't let that put you off the food was wonderful. I recommend the noodle soup. We ate lunch by the pool one day and it was beautifully presented and very tasty. All the staff were friendly and helpful. They organised a tuk tuk driver for us to take us to the temples. Chet was great, he would explain things to us and point places out on the way. He also took us to the silk factory one morning (well worth a visit). The girls were given a complimentary facial which they thoroughly enjoyed. I booked a full body scrub which was delightful. When we arrived back at our room each night the hotel had left us local cakes - this was such a sweet thought. The hotel is a little way out of the town but we enjoyed the peace that this gave and also the journeys in and out of the town - a great way to see a little more of the area. I would happily recommend this little gem to anyone. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Heaven on Earth"
"This is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed, peace and tranquillity by the Arabian Sea, heaven on earth. The service was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, we stayed in a lovely cottage called Shanti overlooking the sea, attention to detail was of the highest standard, everything was perfect. There are just 12 cottages which make it very special. The spa was the best we have ever been too, we had a Shirodhara massage, amazing... we were rejuvenated and calmed. Breakfast was at the beach restaurant, (food was of the highest standard) after early morning yoga, what a beautiful way to start the day. We had a wonderful stay at Neeleshwar, and hope to return again. "
