Villa Song Saigon: "beautiful riverside hotel"
We stayed 3 nights in March. Everything about the hotel was lovely- room, staff, pool and food. District 2 is quiet with good local restaurants and bars and taxis from the airport and city centre cheap. The hotel also provides a boat shuttle to the city which was great fun. Rooms on the upper floors will be quieter.SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "If I could give 6 stars i would"
"We had heard that the Swiss owners of this restaurant, with their Michelin star history had created something special, but this was beyond our high expectations. The setting is romantic and set off on a beautiful lake. The building was redone to hip minimalist beautiful décor. The food was out of this world. Service was impeccable. The owners have even sought out hard to find wines and serve at reasonable prices to fit any budget. The restaurant is not cheap for Myanmar standards, but a third of the price you would pay in Europe or the U.S. for food that is in a word...memorable. The chef and his lovely wife both came to the table and their watchful eye was on every detail. Although Michelin tends to be giving stars for micro-cuisine, this is a finer restaurant than most multi-Michelin star restaurants that we have frequented. You know, that feeling that each course is perfect and you don't want it to end. The only thing sad about this review, is being in Yangon we can't just go back there next week!!! This is a restaurant that you will use as a standard by which to compare others."David’s Kitchen: "Great food and ambiance"
My husband and I visited David's Kitchen a few days ago with our 9 month old son and we were extremely surprised by the great food and beautifully designed restaurant. Service was impeccable and the staff was very kind towards our baby. We also thought the price was very reasonable considering the great quality of the food. The location was also great and the venue was beautiful. We couldn't recommend it enough.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Amazing and unique hotel"
We loved our six nights and were lucky enough to stay in Escoy - the room with a gold leaf timber Chinese screen. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the Georgetown location fascinating. We also had an excellent meal at the Indigo restaurant.Rachamankha: "Excellent boutique hotel with great service"
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in November at this wonderful hotel and felt totally at home throughout. The ambiance of the hotel was perfect, very peaceful and serene. The whole layout of the building was beautiful with lovely antique Asian furniture, a nice outdoor swimming pool and a cosy library. The library was well stacked with books and also had the benefit of having 2 PC's where we were able to plan our trips and look up local restaurants, even printing out the information we needed on the spot. The bedroom was very comfortable with a spacious bathroom and free WiFi was available throughout the building. The hotel was perfectly located, a very close walk from the Old Town. It also had the added benefit (from our perspectives) of being a non-smoking establishment throughout. The service was first class from all the staff and the breakfasts were delicious. The hotel manager Paul Walker was especially helpful and proactive, giving us many useful tips both for our stay in Chiang Mai and also Bangkok. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Chiang Mai as it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy your stay. We will definitely book there again the next time we visit.Muang La Resort: "Relaxing setting, great food and lovely staff"
We spent three days at Muang La resort. We went in the low season so had the resort (10 room resort) to ourselves. We had a river view room (highly recommend) and we could hear the relaxing sounds of the river flowing outside our room. The resort has two elevated hot tubs, using water from the hot natural springs. We enjoyed a Lao massage too. The resort is set on the river, which is constantly used by the local villagers to fish and bathe. We organised a couple of excursions once we had arrived. This was probably easy for us to do as we were the only residents. The food was great. Every night there was a five course set menu based on local Laos cuisine. Breakfasts were great, with tropical fruits, divine home made yoghurt, croissants and scrolls, as well as eggs as you like them. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The village of Muang La is a little difficult to get to but worth the effort. I am happy to recommend Muang La.The Village House: "A diamond in the middle of nowhere"
We stayed here to enjoy a relaxed couple of days after a demanding tour theough malaysia and Borneo and though we have stayed at some of the fanciest and most luxurios hotels in the world we have to admit that the village house is one of the best accomodations we have stayed at. Sure it isn't a five star hotel with such amenities as flat screen tv's, tennis courts, jacuzzis and sorts but it makes up for it by being charming, romantic and being well taken care of. The house itself is as beautiful as it gets and gives you a 'home' feeling right from the start. You are welcomed by the manager herself and she takes care of your every need. If there is anything just let her know and she will find a way to wirl it out for you. Sort of like a good spirit. The girls are really nice as well and take good care of the facilities. The rooms are very well maintained and will be cleaned up twice daily. The food is (compared to malaysian standards) a bit pricey (but compared to western standards still ok) but soooo worth it! We can barely remember having had better asian food than the local Bidayuh cuisine. True, there isn't much you can do or explore around the village house but if you plan on a relaxing couple of days by the pool, maybe read a book then this is the place to go. My husband still claims its 'the best hotel/b&b i've ever stayed at'. We simply loved it!!Reverie Siam: "A special spot"
One of those rare places where the photos don't do it justice and you have to go there to experience the beauty. So much care has been taken in the architecture, interior, landscaping and staff to create a unique environment. The hotel perfectly compliments the most picturesque setting. We are already planning to return.Les Maisons d’Itac: "Paradise on Earth"
Beautiful place, beautiful accommodation in a wooden cottage. Excellent host Bryan. Perfect place for relaxation and lovers of high-quality architecture that is perfect in every detail. You can snorkel right next to the hotel in beautiful coral reef. Home cooking was excellent. I would like to thank all the staff for a dream holiday.Villa Song: "A fabulous escape from the city"
We moved to Saigon about three months ago and like to treat ourselves to a weekend in a hotel now and again. Staying in Villa Song felt like a real holiday and an escape from the city. We loved the peace and relaxation. The customer service and staff were excellent. The room was beautiful and we loved the pool area. Both mornings we were threre it was very quiet, despite the hotel being at full capacity. We ate at the restaurant the first night and enjoyed the food very much and the breakfast was great. The free boat back to the city was fun and a fantastic way to see the city from a different viewpoint, although I was loathed to get off the boat and head home! We will definitely return for another weekend getaway soon.
