The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Lovely Boutique Hotel — Very Well Located"

Review by: XLJ01 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cabochon over Christmas. The hotel is small and styled in the old colonial manner. It's located in a retail/residential area of Sukhumvit Road and is set back a bit from the main road, so was very quiet. Breakfast was excellent -- both buffet and hot menu items are offered. We ate at the hotel restaurant one evening and the food/service there was excellent as well. Reservations for the restaurant are recommended if you're there during a busy time -- it appeared a number of the other diners came from outside the hotel. All emails setting up the initial reservation were answered promptly and thoroughly, and the car from the airport to the Cabochon, arranged with the hotel prior, was there waiting for us -- even though we ended up being delayed several hours. The car is worthwhile if you're arriving in the middle of the night, as we did. If you arrive during regular hours, you can take the train to the Phrom Phong stop, which is an easy 5 to 10 minute walk straight to the hotel. If you take the train from the airport, you would need to make one change, and carry bags up/down stairs at some point. We had a top floor room which was spacious and clean. Bottled water was provided daily, which was appreciated. The rooftop pool was small but lovely, with a beautiful view over parts of the city. The easy walk from the hotel to the sky train stop was very convenient as the sky train takes you all over, including to the stop for the Chao Phraya tourist boat, which in turn takes you all along the river to the beautiful temples, Chinatown, etc. All the hotel staff were very polite and helpful. Our only small suggestion would be to increase the wattage in the rooms -- the lighting was pretty dim and a little extra light in the evening would be helpful. We would love to return to the Cabochon on a return visit to Thailand, and would recommend it for both families and couples."

Sandat Glamping Tents: "Spettacolare"

Review by: Paolo S | Source: Trip Advisor
"Il posto dove abbiamo soggiornato migliore, ottima location, tra le risaie di una bali che sta un po scomparendo,le abitazioni immerse nella foresta ,la privaci che non ha comparazione con altri posti , favoloso anche il cibo del ristorante !!sicuramente 1 notte troppo poco, la prossima volta almeno 2 o 3 giorni per farci coccolare di piu!! ! Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"

The Village House: "Best place to stay on the peninsula"

Review by: AndyHopz | Source: tripadvisor.com
I would echo all the previous reviews. Yes this place is out of the way, and in a completely different spot to the big resorts in Damai. But that is exactly the reason for choosing it, it's very intimate and relaxing, there's no kids around and you feel like you're experiencing something closer to Malaysian culture.

Muang La Lodge: "formidable"

Review by: André M | Source: Trip Advisor
Great room overlooking the river. Magnificent bathroom. Raphael and Mathilde are enough for their guests. high-end kitchen, we feasted. The activities are very interesting, beautiful walks in the forest, great track for minority ethnic groups and the descent of the river Nam Ouh is superb. Dream stay at this property which employs people from surrounding villages.

Tugu Bali: "Restaurant Bale Puputan"

Review by: Slatts62 | Source: Trip Advisor
We were looking for a romantic setting for a special meal for our final night in Canggu. We dined at the Bale Puputan restaurant and enjoyed a wonderful rice table served by Sri. Sri looked after us the whole evening and made our experience special. We had a guided tour to their own private beach area and al fresco dining area.

The River Resort: "Luxury by the Mighty Mekong"

Review by: qualicumgirl | Source: Trip Advisor
We three seniors had two goals for this four day layover. One was a good rest after a busy two weeks. The second was to see sunset over the Mekong. We got our rest with fully appointed rooms with balconies overlooking the river, two infinity pools, seating under the trees for Happy Hour and a wonderful menu. Breakfast is included and it is excellent. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. All arrangements were made for our four events, to Wat Phou, aromatherapy massages (with muscle), the sunset cruise, and a walk through the villages and temples on the island across the way in the cool of the morning. There were several families with young children, and other seniors enjoying being pampered, like us. This place is perfect for those two demographics.
