Sandat Glamping Tents: "Magic place"
Sandat is really our kind of experience, exclusive tents beautifully designed and decorated, off beat location, far from the crowd, very warm staff who played with our daughter, 2 and half years old who enjoyed so much, great breakfast, a Must in Ubud !Blackitch Artisan Kitchen: "Amazing Chef’s Table experience"
"Had no idea what to expect when we booked this restaurant, and not knowing even made it better. We almost left because we didn't know where the restaurant was, we entered the bar adjacent and they said it was next door but next door was a gelato place which was closed. Blackitch was above this gelato place but we felt weird entering a closed shop. Luckily as we were about to leave, a lady came out and let us in, led us up into this quaint and small space. It was the restaurant and it would only fit about 12 people (2 tables and a bar area) making it super intimate. The food consisted of a 9-course set menu which is meticulously prepared by the Chef who comes out to explain each course. It changes all the time and his philosophy is very farm-to-table, local, nose-to-mouth cooking. His cooking ideals are admirable and we would definitely go back to try the other dishes he comes up with as the dishes were delicious (lots of Thai flavors fused with other cuisines). A meal for 4 of us cost around 7000 baht with drink and corkage as be bought a bottle of wine along."Mekong Villas: "Lazing by the Mekong"
I only stayed 1 night this time around but I really wanted to go back as I was in the area again. Once you enter the gate, you are in a secluded area, although the main road is just behind. The peacefulness that emanates from the grounds forces you to switch off. Not much to do at the property but that's the whole point: listen to nature around you, watch the life on the Mekong and just relax!!David’s Kitchen: "Best food and service!"
I would say this restaurant is the best restaurant that I ever had. I had a high expectation before I go because TripAdvisor award it as one of the best fine dining restaurant in the world. It ended up even exceed my expectation. I like every dishes that we ordered. All the waiters and waitress had very high standard of service. I will definitely come back again if I visit Chiang Mai again! And I would highly recommend my friends to go if they visit chiang Mai.Rakkojae Seoul: "Amazing Hanok Stay!"
My wife and I were really hoping to find a great, traditional Hanok style hotel and the Rakkojae exceeded our expectations. The grounds are beautiful and kept up well. The room was spotless as well as the bathroom. The manager was very friendly and helpful. He cooked us a delicious western-style breakfast, which we ate outside on the porch overlooking the courtyard. The location is conveniently located near Bukchon and other popular palaces. There are a few delicious food options nearby on the street behind the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a tranquil and relaxing vacation. We hope to return!!!The Apsara Rive Droite: "Charming boutique hotel"
Located just across its sister hotel, The Apsara, the Rive Droithe is located in a quiet part, less touristy area of Luang Prabang. The hotel manager, Hann, is delightful and friendly. Good breakfast, friendly service, charming French colonial style buildings, nice pool, and good dinner selection if you do not feel like venturing into town at night, although please note that the selection is less compared to the Apsara across the river. Also please note, although the wifi is pretty good, not all rooms can receive wifi reception. Overall, a very good boutique hotel in Luang PrabangThe Island Lodge: "Perfect"
"We loved the Island Lodge. The resort is beautiful and serene, particularly after experiencing the bustle of HCMC. Our room was spacious with a generous balcony overlooking the pool and the river beyond. Great pool with plenty of loungers, shaded and unshaded. Attentive and efficient staff. The owner made a point to personally welcome us and was on hand to say good-bye. We highly recommend the spa- the herbal massage was possibly the best we'd ever had. We enjoyed our meals in the restaurant and thought the prices were reasonable. The only negative aspect of our stay is that it wasn't long enough. I'm not exactly sure what web thread I followed to discover this jewel of a dining experience but I'm thankful for finding it! From the moment we were escorted onto this intimate floating restaurant to our departure two hours later, we felt like royalty. Champagne, a six course Thai feast (explained each step of the way by our server), tastefully selected music, and the exotic sights of the illuminated shoreline made this absolutely remarkable.Tugu Lombok: "Very Romantic; great personalized Service! Not too far from Gili Islands"
"So romantic, with extremely well-presented Villas and personalized service: felt like everyone there knew our names from hour one! The grounds are lovely and the pool is excellent. Feels like it should cost a lot more $$ than it does. Notably though it is somewhat isolated and one is pretty 'much here' if not taking a Taxi, so I felt they could have either had rested on poor food - or charged a lot at their Restaurants - but instead the Food was really, really good IMO; some of my favorite in Bali and Lombok. We greatly also enjoyed our included Brekkies... Came here with my Son and we got an extra bed which fit fine within our spacious lovely Villa; we were able to spend a lot of time together. A nice thing too is that one can also say take a taxi to local harbor 'Bangdol' to take a slow boat (costs like 15,000 IDR) to Gili T (the fast boat is 4x more and just a few minutes faster)... also see Gili Meno and Gili Air which I recommend.. one small thing to be aware of is the Taxi Brokers when first arriving from say Bali at Bangdol: they will try to charge you 500,000 or more for a taxi from a Harbor to Hotel and yet will 'secretly' give the taxi driver only 50,000 of that!! If you can make your way past thronging Brokers and ignore their aggressive entreaties; go up to actual Taxi drivers and they will take you to wonderful Hotel Tugu for 100,000 or less. If you can get a Blue Bird metered taxi it might be 30,000. We learned our lesson and became pretty adept in avoiding the aggressive Taxi Brokers in Bangdol Harbor! And this allows a lot of travel in going to and from great Hotel Tugu. Anyway both my Son and I felt that Hotel Tugu and its Staff and Meals were fantastic! Like a hidden gem in Lombok. I think that this place would be great too for Romance and couples. Rob W. Stayed February 2017, traveled with family"
