Tugu Malang: "Best hidden gem in Indonesia"
We're currently living in Jakarta, and sometimes you need a little getaway from the Big Durian. Malang is it - and this is the hotel to stay in. I loved everything about this place. The hotel staff are really friendly - arranging early check in and late check out with no problems and playing with my baby. The rooms are gorgeous, really comfortable beds, huge beautiful bathroom with really nice products, and wood floors (great for a crawling baby). The grounds are like a museum with so many places to walk and explore. The hotel is located in a very walkable location and the hotel staff are helpful with recommendations. The restaurant has the best Indonesian food I've had in Indonesia. They'll modify for vegetarians - try the Nasi Campur. The breakfast that's included is also incredible - you can order off the menu and take from the buffet - all included! The coffee is amazing - we took home 2 bags of beans, very reasonably priced. The afternoon tea that's included offers a wonderful selection of Indonesian snacks to try and great tea and coffee. They include a welcome massage of 15 minutes, and we bought a full massage, which was really high quality and totally worth it - and reasonably priced.Slow Villas and Spa: "So well thought"
"This place is extraordinary. We stayed for 4 nights. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and an almost 5 yr and an almost 2 yr old. We stayed in the 1 room villa with a baby cod. The almost 5 yr old slept in the big bed with us. Not ideal but it was ok. Slow did offer a separate additional bed for the 5 yr old but it would have taken up quite some space, leaving almost none left. We would go back anytime and even stay as we did of that is the only option. Indoor outdoor melts together when sliding up the 3 big glass doors facing the pool. The garden is big and leaves you with the impression that it could have been smaller without reducing your feeling of it being spacious. The bath room is outdoors. Nicely build and designed as the rest."Tugu Bali: "Authentique Indonesian Decor"
"Without doubt, the room in Tugu Bali is one of the best we ever stayed. Everything was design to the utmost details to represent Indonesian (Java) beauty. We only stay in the Rejang Suite Ocean view for one night on the last leg of our adventure in Bali. The location in Pantai Batu Bolong, Canggu is rather secluded, but busy with surfers. Perfect for honeymooners. The staff are extremely helpful and polite; from the reception, bellboy, gardener, waiters. Definitely we want to come back and spend more time there "Villa Song Saigon: "The best hotel I have stayed at"
"I know that sounds like a big wrap but this was a seriously good experience. The hotel is a refurbished mansion (or facsimile of), it's right on the river and has all the charm of old Saigon. The staff are delightful. We were welcomed with a fresh watermelon juice and a smile. We stayed for four nights and had a river view room on the top floor. There are no lifts so if you are not good with stairs make sure you request a lower floor. The room was well appointed to a luxury standard with wide wooden floor boards, a king sized bed and a spacious bathroom. The mini-bar is complementary and there is free wifi. I really appreciated both these features. The pool is about 25 metres and surrounded by comfortable loungers. There is a small gym (but I found it a bit hot for working out). Breakfast everyday is also included and there is a wide selection of European and Vietnamese options to choose from. The staff always greeted you warmly and were very helpful. Villa Song is in District 2 and some way out of the main tourism precinct (District 1) however they provide a free ferry service which takes about 20 minutes several times a day to and from the city centre. It is a terrific way to enjoy the city and means you get to sleep at night! District 1 is so busy all the time it is nice to get away from it and chill near the pool or in the bar. We tried the restaurant for dinner as well and it has a pleasant fusian menu to choose from. There is a spa downstairs which has the usual array of treatments. We had the aromatherapy massage which was very good and set us up nicely for the week. You can book any of the popular tours and they will charge it to your room making organisation a breeze. We were very happy with our choice of hotel. You really do feel at home away from home and that is mostly because of the charming service. We would definitely stay here again."Manda De Laos: "Delicious"
The food was delicious, we had the green papaya salad which was spicy but not too rip your head off hot! The staff were attentive and friendly, with beautiful surroundings and really cheap. Couldn't ask for more.MesaStila: "Must-visit place for nature lovers, coffee lovers, & traditional Java-Dutch royal lovers"
We fell in love since we arrived at the gate of Mesa Stila. My older daughter (6 yo) said it's just like her dream castle :) the concierge, lobby, and the villa were beautiful as well as overall resort landscape. The staff's service was impressive & very helpful. We enjoyed the coffee plantation tour, beautiful afternoon tea, bicycle riding for my two-daughters, swimming, and quality breakfast indeed. My daughters did not want to go home after stay, so did I and my husband actually haha. Mesa Stila is exactly the place to spend quality time with your beloved. Thank you for the great service!Muang La Lodge: "Da non perdere"
If you go in northern Laos you should definitely stop at the lodge. Rooms comfortable and spotless hospitality and impeccable service. Lovely pool ... turkish bath massage and two beautiful pools of thermal water from which to admire the view while sipping a delicious cocktail. Breakfast and dinner excellent. Delicious also picnic during a hike.Villa Song Saigon: "Fantastic"
In January, we stayed for two weeks at Villa Song, and to be honest, it was the best holiday we've had in years ! Of course, Saigon is a beautiful and interesting city, but staying at Villa Song was the cherry on te cake. Never have we seen such friendly staff who did way more than just their job to make our stay memorable. From reception to housekeeping, everyone always had a smile on their face and was eager to help. A special "thumbs up" for the ladies (and gentleman) at reception - you were great ! We love you ! Above that, the hotel itself is a little gem : beautiful, calm, impeccably clean and ideally located in the nice Thao Dien district, away from the noisy and busy city centre. A complementary boat shuttle made going for a stroll and visiting the old town centre super easy. And last but not least : the hotel also has a fantastic restaurant with great food - definitely worth a visit ! Villa Song will be seeing us again :-) ! Stayed January 2017, traveled as a coupleRachamankha: "Old City Oasis"
Traveling from the Chiang Mai Airport we encountered a buzz of traffic including autos, tuk-tuks and a swarm of scooters and small motorcycles. Crowded, bussling, narrow streets apperared to be the norm. Then our driver turned onto a side street and pulled into the calm and quiet of Rachamankha. The staff of the hotel and the restaurant where gracious and attentive. The grounds are gorgeous and peaceful. We spent a few quiet hours by the tranquil pool. Great experince.Tugu Bali: "Hidden gem"
Absolutely beautiful property full of Balinese culture and Indonesian history; you could spend a day itself properly exploring, learning about, and enjoying the hotel itself. Staff were impeccable and went out of their way to meet my very need; super friendly. Easy walk (less than 2min) to the beach where there are excellent waves for surfing right there at Batu Bolong beach (with other excellent breaks nearby). Plenty of excellent and hipster restaurant/Cafe options; Canggu way more laid back and less chaotic than Kuta or Seminyak. Can sometimes be noisy at night given proximity to the some of the most happening bars in Canggu, but if you’re looking for intimate luxury in a super-cool part of Bali, Tugu is your place. Rooftop bar had outstanding views, where I also ate my breakfast every morning to watch surfers catch the morning swell. While I came solo, I would bring my family back here in a heartbeat. Thanks Tugu!
