Villa Song Saigon: "Calm oasis"
"This hotel is a calm oasis away from the bustle of the busy city with its thousands of motor cyclists. Friendly helpful staff, a stunning building and a refreshing clean swimming pool, with delicious food (local and international) served in the garden by the river. We liked the tablet computer photos (brought to the table) of the food so we could see before we ordered - a nice touch. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Mie Cafe: "Lovely!"
Elegant, delicious food and lovely ambiance for our dinner. But book early if you have a specific date/time you want to eat, as we had to eat later than we wanted just to get a reservation. So glad we were flexible! A perfect way to end our trip.Mie Cafe: "Modern ideas paired with Cambodian Kitchen"
A lovely setting in a Khmer style house. Sit outside and enjoy the dishes prepared by a chef with creativity. Very attentive and friendly staff.MesaStila Resort and Spa: "Wonderful get away in central Java"
This is a wonderful resort set in the middle of a coffee plantation. A cool respite from the heat of Yogyakarta, the service in this resort is first rate, from the front desk to the restaurant etc. My wife indicated that the massage she received in the spa was one of the best she has ever had. The breakfasts were fabulous, the views awe-inspiring, and the arrange tour to the Borobudur temple was excellent. My only negative is that the fitness equipment was really second rate and not operational when I was there. But everything else was great!Rachamankha: "A haven within the walled city of Chiang Mai"
"This hotel was simply amazing! So peaceful! The grounds are stunning, the service impeccable. The location is perfect as it is within the walls of the old city of Chiang Mai, so easy to walk everywhere, but yet you don't hear any of the noise. We walked easily to the night market on Sunday as well as Wat Chedi Luang. The food was amazing and breakfast included. Just the breakfast set up was peaceful. You are served on the patio with blue/white china and tea/coffee cups. Everything is served on china or silver. The pool looked amazing, but we unfortunately didn't have time to use it. The room was quaint and relaxing. The shower was great! I loved the large heavy doors. The wifi didn't reach to our room well, but that didn't matter to me much. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in!"Tugu Malang: "Great Service"
We just spent one night here but we were able even to enjoy the Afternoon Tea. Hotel situated not far away from Railway Station and staff came over to pick us up. Front Desk very helpful. Rooms were nice but nothing spectacular. Nice Swimming pool. Great and very ample breakfast. Service was the highlight here. No doubt.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "A Quality Experience in all Respects"
"Experience on safari in other parts of the world has taught us that you generally get what you pay for, and so we booked at the top end for two nights in Yala, with Noel Rodrigo’s highly respected operation. Noel, Cecile and the rest of the team were welcoming, gracious and knowledgeable hosts, and highly professional in every aspect of the business. Meals were a treat both for the food (the Sri Lankan dinner being better than the western barbecue one, and lunches stunning) and conversation with our hosts and fellow guests. Pre-dinner drinks were likewise great, and the staff were so good at getting everyone engaged in the conversations, whether they were young kids, reticent teenagers, or adults. Our tents were carefully set-up and very comfortable, and the public lounge area was a fine place to sit and read. Our safari vehicles were also well-set-up. But let’s face it, one visits Yala to see animals and birds. Spotted deer and birds aside, wildlife in Yala is not plentiful in the sense that it is on the plains of the big African game parks; but having to work a little harder to spot game makes the experience more rewarding in many ways. The first of our four game drives provided us with two excellent leopard sightings. The next morning we were lucky enough to see sloth bear (mother and cub). Add in the elephant, crocodiles, water buffalo, barking deer, sambar deer, mongoose – plus other animal species and all manner of birds – seen over the four game drives, and we left Yala well-satisfied. We would recommend a minimum two night stay, both to provide a good chance of seeing a wide range of birds and animals and to settle into the rhythm of camp life."The Island Lodge: "Made From My Dreams"
Well what a place. My wife and I decided to try and walk from the barriers on the Island to the Island Lodge. We got over half way when one of the staff spotted us on their scooter and kindly told us to wait and sent the golf buggy to collect us. What a saviour she was. Upon reaching the reception we were greeted with a cool face towel which was such a lovely touch along with the most delicious of welcome drinks and a small welcome set of canapés. What a lovely extra. We were taken to our room and were absolutely made up with it. Everything we needed and things thought of with common sense. (...) All the food provided is well cooked and tastes great especially the Vietnamese cuisine. This means you do not need to go anywhere other than stay, relax and indulge. We hired bikes which was great and headed into My Tho. When my wife got a puncture the staff were so happy to help her get back to base and replace the bike. Michael and François are an insperation with what they have done and are doing, especially when you talk to them abou their past and how they came to set up this place of sheer luxury. They even surprised me with a glass of fizz and cake for my birthday whilst we were staying there yet another lovely touch. I cannot recommend this place highly enough I just wish there was 5 plus star to rate here. Thank you again to the team for such a wonderful stay.
A recommander vivement."SANAK RETREAT BALI: "INCREDIBLE"
"We stayed at Sanak in early January of 2015. Unfortunately it's taken me this long to review them! After arriving on a particularly rainy afternoon, we were greeted by the lovely staff in their bar/reception area. I was blown away by the incredible view that lay before me. The hotel is nestled right on top of farmed rice paddies so provided an amazing taste of the real Bali. The food was particularly impressive. The menu has a French/Balinese fusion twist; and every meal they served us was amazing quality. It's truly a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. I was a little worried about becoming ""bored"" due to the quite, but the constant massages, yoga and laying by the pool quickly calmed those nerves. One of the people in the group I stayed with even got the chance to work the rice fields with the locals, yet again adding to the authenticity! Couldn't recommend the place any more highly. Loved it!
