Tugu Lombok: "Glorious. Simply perfect"

Review by: TheWanderingJock | Source: Trip Advisor
Everything you could ever want from a resort like this. Spacious, luxurious rooms, quiet peaceful atmosphere, attentive yet unintrusive staff, on the beach, great food, great tropical cocktails, good selection of well organised, safe, and secure activities arranged with but a word to front desk (we had a particularly good among well informed driver called Danny for our trip to the waterfall), AC rooms, snorkeling lovely coral off the beach, and a wonderful selection of towel animals (you'll see what I mean).

Manukan Island Resort: "Great relaxing break"

Review by: bargain-addict | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed 2 nights in hillside villa 11. Boat trip over and back was included in the room cost. After a small mix up we travelled over on a day trippers boat which was fine. We were welcomed off the boat and taken through to the small reception room and given refresher towels and a drink while doing the paperwork. We knew we wouldn’t be able to get into our room straight away so had come prepared to swim. The pool was lovely and was never busy so we always felt like we were the only ones there. We relaxed on the beach until our room was ready an hour early. The room was amazing, beyond expectations. Everything was modern and clean. We were shown through and informed that the soft drinks in the fridge were complimentary which was a lovely touch. The view from both balconies was incredible and as our room faced away from the jetty we really didn’t even know day trippers were there until we went for a walk. The TV had a range of channels, the air con and fans worked well, and the hot water was easy to use just by turning on the switch half and hour before you wanted to use it. We were surprised to find the food was cheaper than at sutera harbour resort and just as lovely. We only had dinner at the restaurant the first night. The second night we decided to try the cheap take away stall near the beach mid afternoon and then just had snacks for dinner. The food at this stall was ok and really cheap. We had rice with beef and black bean sauce for 7.50rm. Breakfast had 6 items to order from but then they also brought extras to your table including fruit, bread to toast over coals, yogurt, juice and cereal. It was one of the more relaxing and enjoyable breakfasts I have had while travelling and certainly plentiful. We decided to travel to Sapi Island to go on the coral flyer and Ben organised for us to go on one of the island hopper boats. It seemed quite expensive to us but we were ok with that. Unfortunately the Coral flyer was fully booked when we got there but we enjoyed a snorkel and look around Sapi anyway. The internet was intermittent. We managed to log on in the mornings and evenings quite quickly but during the day it seemed more difficult. This didn’t really bother us as it is nice to be without internet and not constantly checking it. The things that we didn’t enjoy about Manukan Island were way beyond the resorts control so would in no way negatively review the resort for them, but here they are. The water was very murky. That was probably the biggest disappointment. I’m guessing that time of year and number of boats can affect that but for us it was almost zero visibility. We were fortunate to see a lot of wildlife, some more friendly than others. We spotted the birds the island is named after on our way back from sunset point as well as some fireflies. We saw a rhinoceros beetle and some geckos on our balcony. We spotted a couple of monitor lizards around the island. Now the not so nice ones. We had a snake go across our balcony but were assured it was harmless and Ben said he has only seen a handful in all his years on the island. Then we had a centipede in our bath. As soon as we informed staff it was gone within 5 minutes which was appreciated. When we left we were walked out to the jetty and put on the resort boat and waved off. Amongst the boards of day trippers this made us feel pretty special. We were the only ones on the boat and the trip back was smooth and easy. Over all I would highly recommend Manukan Island as a lovely relaxing get away, just don’t expect to spend the whole time snorkeling."

Muang La Lodge: "Hidden gem in Laos"

Review by: Stephen R | Source: Trip Advisor
"This wonderful place is an absolute gem. The staff were all super-helpful, and the facilities are super-comfortable and very well set up to fit whatever level of energy that you have, including the thermal tubs and the lovely pool. As a temporary resident of Laos, I can vouch for the authentic nature of the setting. We went on the 5 hour trek with a very scenic route accompanied by an informative guide, which allows you to see the authentic side of the changing landscape in the northern highlands and some of the pressures for change that the local people face. All in all, one of the best places of its kind that we have ever stayed in. Stayed March 2017, traveled with family"

Cabochon: "Quite an experience – highly reccomendable"

Review by: sonydk | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We found this unique hotel to be in a good part of Bangkok. Close to the Skytrain that connects you to most of the city and to/from the Airport. Very helpfull staff and overall great service level. As this is a boutique hotel with very few rooms, you really feel you get special attention. Nice rooms, with beautiful decor and a nice bathroom. Our room also featured a pleasant balcony (free minibar and fresh fruit daily by the way! Good breakfast as well) We especially liked the roof top terrasse with the large swimmingpool and stunning views of the city. A+ experience and highly reccomendable for those seeking a luxury feeling at very resonable rates."

Maison Polanka: "Beautiful rooms, amazing service"

Review by: Soghi | Source: Trip Advisor
Felt like a home not a hotel, from the warm welcome to the beautiful rooms. Everything is spotless, and the staff so helpful, esp with arranging tours . The restaurant is superb, and my wife particularly loved the coffee too! So much care has been taken with every aspect that I really can't fault anything. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful stay, and we will definitely return.

Dewakan: "WOW"

A wow moment. A creative cuisine with local inspiration and pure/natural ingredients. Tasteful and delighful. Decor and music are in sync with the food. Humble. Accessible and reasonable price. Good for business, great for couple. Not to be missed in KL.

Sea Dance Resort: "Where everybody knows your name"

Review by: chris S | Source: Trip Advisor
"...and they're always glad you came..." That theme song from the TV show "Cheers" should be this friendly resort's theme song. It seems that the staff always welcomed us by our names like a friend or family member. Great resort with clean, spacious, modern rooms. They really paid attention to details such as providing mosquito swatter, sprays, umbrellas, and unique decors too such as a pond with fishes and frog in the bathroom, fish net baskets as lights in the restaurant Loved the happy hours, buffets, entertainment provided, plunge pool privacy and expansive menu at the restaurant. All great ideas for my club facilities back home. Would definitely come back. Only drawback is the lack of scheduled on site activities and equipment fitness center. They do offer cooking classes but would be nice to have more, such as yoga or Thai cultural classes. The beach was rocky but water is clean and refreshing. Thank you so much to the staff and owner for a memorable stay.

Flower Island Resort: "Excelente!!"

Review by: maggiemaggie2015 | Source: Trip Advisor

David’s Kitchen: "Memorable six star experience"

Review by: BarbaraMD | Source: Trip Advisor
"We started our evening with the shuttle sent by The restaurant to pick us up at our hotel. The magic began. Words are not enough to describe our experience. The fabulous staff, the Decor, the high quality and food the attention to detail coupled with the warm personality of the family that owns this restaurant make this experience magical. My husband started his dinner with his favorite escargot and then a wonderful steak with a wine sauce. I enjoyed the spicy flavorful gazpacho and the chicken beast entree to keep with my diet. My husband enjoyed the homemade ice cream for dessert. If you are visiting Chiang Mei don't miss this experience. Thank you David and Prom and all the staff."
