Manukan Island Resort: "Lazy days on the beach"
For the past few days in Sabah we wanted us to relax a bit and chose the nearby island of KK Manukan. Arrival / Room: Already at the pier we were surprised: by private email boat we were taken to the island. Us a cool water was also pressed into his hand the same. On the island you received us very friendly with a cool cloth and a tea / drink. Although we arrived already at 11 am, we moved into our beach villa same. We were told everything and there were apples ready and refrigerate soft drinks and replenished daily free water. Our Beach Villa was the first one up front at the reception and on the way, but the fact that we were on the first floor, the day visitors did not bother us. The room and the bathroom are really very nice, clean and large. It is anything useful present: flip-flops, flip-flops for outdoors, beach towels, shampoo, shower gel, a comb, a toothbrush, etc. The TV has some channels in English. The WiFi does so about 50% of the time works, and if so, then the connection was good. But since I do not know that there is absolutely WiFi, I was pleasantly surprised anyway. Beach: The private beach is very nice, the chairs and umbrellas are great. With us rarely strayed days Visitors on our beach and were usually relatively quickly pointed out by the staff that they are here only allows guests. In the water was only now and then someone Resort stranger. (But was apparently just not much going on). The hammocks were also very comfortable. Unfortunately, on the first two days, a bit much trash on the beach, and although actually some employees were traveling, was not collected the. But from the third day it was all super clean. Convenient to all Villa Beach residents might still be a shower or locker room at the private beach, one could go swimming on the last day even after checking out. but otherwise it is not far to the room, so do not disturb it. Since the seabed is very sandy, the water is not always clear, especially if it is something stormy. However, I found the snorkeling better than expected. You see a lot of fish and a few living coral there still. Restaurant: The breakfast was amazing. One can choose from 6 different dishes as much as you want but until you come to order, you already have fruit, yogurt, milk, cereal, bread, jams are at the table. as we were a few days there, we tried almost everything and it was all very good. The dinner was also very good, but the selection was not quite as big. The live music was not bad, but I found it funny when they are directly at the table, but the Asian tourists found the apparently quite cool. The prices of local I found okay, I had feared worse. The cocktails were not bad either. Other: there are from the infrastructure all it takes, there are two souvenir shops that sell snacks, drinks and ice cream, three restaurants (during the day), and a rental for lifejackets / snorkel / etc, you can book some tours on Downbelow. and the resort also offers a few specials on (dinner on the beach, BBQ, picnic basket, ...) All in all, we liked it really well on Manukan. The day trippers not really bother us, but it is also pretty cool, if you have the island from late afternoon almost alone for themselves. For us it was exactly what we had imagined. We did not want to be so far away from KK, a beautiful beach and a nice room, have to go a little snorkeling and walk a little. Those who place more emphasis on marine life, should perhaps rather long way from KK (eg Mantanani Iceland or, probably best to Semporna). But we have felt very comfortable and special and can highly recommend it. Which is a shame (for which the resort but nothing can), the many garbage which is not only washed ashore from the sea, but is mainly caused by the day trippers. People throw everything away easily or leave it. In addition, an extra is that one should not use plastic bags in the shops but they are used for all sorts of things.Mathis Retreat: "An absolute gem!"
"Ubud is a very busy place, but once you get through the unassuming entrance on the road, you're in what feels like a very different (and much better) world. We were there for 2 nights in August (sorry for the delay in reviewing!) before going to Gili Meno. Allow for 2 hours travelling time from the airport and Padang Bai; traffic is bad here. The views are just lovely, as are the staff and Manageress, and the food is genuinely outstanding - the chefs are some of the best we have ever encountered, and we've travelled a fair amount. If you wish to have dinner in the hotel, make sure you book a table at breakfast (also very yummy) as it is often booked by people staying elsewhere, such is the popularity. It's not a big place at all though, so don't worry about it being lively. Then there's the Mojitos - oh my god!!! Quite probably the best in the world! The rooms are exceptionally well proportioned and beautifully decorated; the bathroom is VERY luxurious (in an authentic way) too. The beds are supremely comfy, and the air con is good. The hotel operates a shuttle service to Ubud Central, although it is just about walkable within 40 minutes or so; we did this when traffic was at a standstill due to an Independence Day parade. Bugs and critters were not a problem during our stay. Suitable for families with well-behaved children."The Hue House: "Lovely Restaurant"
The place so nice, staff so lovely... and food also delicious. You should to come in the everning and enjoy this place.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Fabulous Respite"
"We stayed here after a grueling six day trek, and what a welcome reward it was! From the moment we disembarked from our jeep, up the steep driveway to the property, our entire group was awed. Literally perched on a mountain top, you have sweeping views from both sides of the mountain. The villas scattered around the property work to maintain privacy, while the beautiful common area has little nooks for privacy, or you can choose to sit on the beautiful verandah, to take in the views, have a drink and rest. The dinner, meanwhile, was delicious, with the tables elegantly set in a non-pretentious way. The villa was beautifully decorated, and again, after our hard work and life in a tent on the trek, the luxurious bed and bathroom was so welcomed! It is truly a retreat - either from the demands that wonderful Nepal asks of you as her traveler, or from the demands that your daily life asks of you. I will certainly return - and might just take in one day in Kathmandu, then come directly back to Tiger Mountain Lodge for three days of beautiful relaxation and rejuvenation."Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Beautiful experience, relaxing stay"
"I think Neeleshwar Hermitage is a wonderful place. The atmosphere is magic, is quiet and relaxing. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom has an open courtyard inside, it's really an authentic idea! There is an infinity pool and the beach. The food was great and we find an excellent staff, also in the restaurant the waiters were really lively, friendly and really good-mannered! So we really enjoy the Tim there, unfortunately we stayed there only one night. But I hope to come back soon. Highly recommended."Villa Song Saigon: "Beautiful and relaxing introduction to Vietnam"
Shuttle water taxis allowed easy entry into the city and a quick escape at the end of the day. Tours to chi chi tunnels and Mekong delta pick you up at their river jetty and make for a beautiful way to experience the beauty of Ho Chi Minh. The facilities at the hotel were top notch and unobtrusive. The hotel's exceptional service was appreciated and staff were friendly and efficient. it is definitely the hotel to go to if you are starting your trip or ending it. Spoil yourself and give yourself at least 3-5 nights here so you can soak up the pleasures of riverside living in Ho Chi Minh City.David’s Kitchen: "Dinner"
Probably the best in Chang Mai. A wonderful dining ecperience. Booking is a must.i have Been many times and never disappointed. All the staff are pleasant and obliging.Maison Polanka: "Our favourite place ever!"
We have never enjoyed a place to stay - anywhere we have travelled - more than Maison Polanka. This is like staying in someone's home - or the home you might dream about having one day. With large, beautiful gardens and an elegant swimming pool, but only a handful of rooms so it's very peaceful never feels crowded even with other guests around. We also had the best Cambodian food of our trip in their restaurant, which is really just a few tables outside by the pool, but outshone anywhere else we ate. Off menu, they were kind enough to make a special noodle soup (nom banh chok) one day for us for lunch - it was delicious and worth making a special request for (in advance). We stayed in the Khmer House as a treat, and it was beautiful and spacious, though I think anyone would be happy with any of the rooms they have. But the best part of Maison Polanka are the people who work there who are warm, welcoming and willing to help with everything, from tour planning, surprise afternoon cakes by the pool, and a wonderfully memorable trip to the Road 60 night market for a dinner of insects, stuffed frogs and other more familiar foods! Our thanks in particular to Cathy, Chan, and Vong! Don't bother looking anywhere else in Siem Reap, just stay here!Misool Eco Resort: "Amazing stay in paradise"
"I have spent 9 days in the Misool Eco Resort in November 2106 and it was truly paradise. I have been to Raja Ampat before to resorts in the northern part, but this resort and diving are on a next level. The resort is great and very spacious compared to other resorts. The rooms and facilities are amazing, but what stands out is the staff and their commitment to make your holiday amazing. Yes, this resort is more expensive, but in my view worth it. The rooms, food and other facilities are super. The diving is next level, although norther Raja Ampat has also similar and amazing dive sites, the dive sites near this resort have much less people and most often you have dive sites just for your selves. Another big difference are the mantas, I have seen them in northern Raja Ampat and the Maldives, but here I saw almost always the larger oceanic mantas and they not only cam much closer, they were not only in the known cleaning station site, but we same the almost every day on other dives as well. Also, the muck ( diving is great, the amount of e.g. pygmy seahorses is amazing, etc. The dive guides and boat crew are super friendly and professional and actively search for what you want to see. My tip would be to try the new dive scooters and this was a lot of fun. Furthermore, their commitment to protect the reefs, fish, mantas and sharks is impressive. I would highly recommend to go to this resort if you like to fully relax and dive in paradise, thanks again to Sue, Marc and your entire staff for an amazing stay at your resort."Rachamankha: "Old City Oasis"
Traveling from the Chiang Mai Airport we encountered a buzz of traffic including autos, tuk-tuks and a swarm of scooters and small motorcycles. Crowded, bussling, narrow streets apperared to be the norm. Then our driver turned onto a side street and pulled into the calm and quiet of Rachamankha. The staff of the hotel and the restaurant where gracious and attentive. The grounds are gorgeous and peaceful. We spent a few quiet hours by the tranquil pool. Great experince.
