Jing’s Residence: "Really fine small hotel located in the Ancient walled City of Pingyao"

My wife and I stayed in this marvelous hotel within the Ancient walled City of Pingyao. The staff were exceedingly gracious in service and even helped translate for us with some local teenage girls who wanted to have their picture taken with Westerners. The room was very nice and we had fresh honey soaked dates when returning from our day's exploring. Breakfast (included in our tour) was expansive and was off a menu and not a buffet - the food both Chinese & European was excellent. We ate dinner one evening and the food and service were outstanding. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The Village House: "Amazing retreat!"

I stayed here with my boyfriend for two weeks, using it as a base for our day trips around the area. The hotel is gorgeous, very quiet and secluded. The staff were wonderful very thoughtful and very happy to help. Food was also fab, I would recommend doing the Taste of Borneo! xx

Satri House: "Bliss!"

The resort is absolutely beautiful and the staff are brilliant :) They spoke perfect English and made everything super easy. The location is a couple of blocks out of town so the free bikes are a good idea.

Manukan Island Resort: "Paradise"

We booked for one night as a last minute treat during our stay in Borneo. We were overwhelmed by what we got. We originally booked the cheapest double room, but when we arrived and was shown to our room, even though we were before the check in time, we were flabbergasted that we were given a beach villa over looking the private beach and sea. The room was luxurious, the staff were attentive and our over night stay was romantic. The only problem we encountered was the restaurant staff, who forget to bring us our drinks and the food wasn't that great. Over all a fabulous place for that romantic get away.

NEELESHWAR HERMITAGE: "Idyllic Ayervedic break by the Arabian Sea"

This is a wonderful place to rejuvenate: attractive, comfortably furnished cottages, welcoming & helpful staff, excellent food prepared by highly skilled chef, superb treatments organised to address specific needs all set in a beautiful location. Excellent library. Great trips & events e.g Theyam, birdwatching, ashrams & temples.

Mie Cafe: "A wooden House restaurant"

We had dinner here and we ordered the Amok fish, fried vegetable beef, fried rice with Angkor Beer. This was a nice dinner. The staff here were friendly and the service was quickly. Highly recommend.

Inle Princess Resort: "wonderful stay"

this location is way off the beaten track. Not very popular but worth the trip to see how these people live and flourish while literally living on the river in different villages. Fishing and floating farms provided the sustenance. Hotel was excellent, good food and lovely accommodations. You take boat trips to get around this huge lake. Lots of fun.

Arumdalu: "Calming Escape from Urban Life"

"If you ever find yourself in a sea-tuation in need for a peaceful green retreat and a doze of Vitamin Sea, then the answer you're looking for is Arumdalu Private Resort in Belitung. My first-ever trip to Belitung and Arumdalu surpassed all my expectations of a private resort in a small developing island- less known than Bali. We stayed a total of three days and two nights. Absolutely ah-ma-zing! Throughout our stay, the staff members are all very friendly, extremely polite, and offer helpful services 24/7. On my very first night, we were having trouble with the wifi connection from our multiple devices. It was past midnight when I called the front desk for assistance. The receptionist assisted us for a long time over the phone and maintained his professionalism all throughout. We were very thankful for his patience and kindness. The whole facility is really gorgeous, with beautiful architectural details and greenery. Everything seems to be thoughtfully designed and managed for the sole purpose of comfort and privacy. This place offers absolute privacy (underlined and bolded.) On top of its general secluded location and the private beach, each villa is designed with complete privacy in mind: gated entrance, dense greenery as partitions between villas, and a personal swimming pool. There is also a sense of exclusivity through minimal interaction with the staff on daily basis. For instance, there is no specific timeframe for room cleaning service and the staff wouldn't knock on your door to clean up your space. Everything is only a phone call away. How convenient! Another highlight is ‘Sahang Beachfront’ restaurant. The restaurant evokes a strong cozy ambiance. The wooden glassed space with home-styled table decorations creates an extremely familiar intimacy. The veggies and fruits used as ingredients are organically grown and freshly picked from in their own garden. Bottom-line: the food here is worth the calories to satisfy your palate. Personal side note, as an architect that values design and craftsmanship as well as an avid believer of living a sustainable lifestyle, I feel an overwhelming sense of satisfaction staying in a resort that proactively shows and promotes its core values of their thoughtful quality design and eco-friendliness. Oh! Did I mention that I saw 6 dolphins by the shore while waiting for sunrise? Such a therapeutic comfort. Rachamankha: "Location, location, location"

Best place to stay in Chiangmai as its central to everywhere. The hotel is a 5-star oasis to escape from the city yet it is located in the city. The staff are friendly and professional making our stay extremely seamless. The room is exquisite with old Thai charm yet furnished with modern day necessities. We definitely would come back here next time!
