Cuisine Wat Damnak: "What a culinary journey"
"Must try/go/taste restaurant in Siem Reap ! Joannes, the Chef, proposes 2 new tasting menu every 2 weeks that will make you discover a high level Khmer gastronomy. Everything here is made to optimize your experience: very very good service, discreet but very efficient, charming authentic refined setting, good wine menu, vegan/vegetarian super friendly and much more but shhhhh.... I let you discover bt yourself this coming explosion of flavors ! ;)"Manda De Laos: "Fine Dining in Luang Prabang"
We showed up without reservations after reading the Trip Advisor reviews and seeing the sign for the Manda as we rode our bikes around. They looked at us for a minute said no reservation.........Then seated us by the pond it was a great table/location. This is fine dinning so its not cheap, but worth it. Best fine meal in Laos. We had the duck and the fish, both were really good. Service was good, a little show but good. Yes, I would go back and eat here again and you should tooRachamankha: "A masterfully curated sophisticated hotel"
"I could not wait to write this review as I was quite moved with the beauty and perfection in design of this elegant property. As an interior designer I adore traveling and observing beautiful interior design around the globe. This property is one of my favorites due to the masterfully curated art and antiques that abound within it. These things When paired with lovely, harmonious architecture and landscape design makes for a keen visual and sensual experience. I have great admiration for the creators of the environment called Rachamankha. The interior spaces, including the hotel rooms are beautiful appointed by a designer who employed restraint to produce balanced, perfectly appointed spaces that evoke a feeling of affluence and history. I especially enjoyed the attention to fine details like handmade candies in dishes, and a sensual decanter of cognac in the beautiful wood paneled Library which was teeming with books of art, travel, history and design. The proximity of this hotel is also of importance. It resides on a quiet street in the old town of Chiang Mai. The old town is very quaint and filled with history and charm while most of the other hotels are located in the riotous and poorly planned concrete sprawl of the newer part of the city. The calm and serene vibe that Rachamankha exudes is greatly helped by where it is located. The staff is reserved and sweet and eager to please without making a spectacle. It's as if they personify the quiet and humble sophistication that IS this property. If you enjoy the nuances of fine taste and refinement, this is the place for you."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Historical beauty"
What a special and unique place to stay. Amazing high ceilings and fabulous architecture. VERY hot water in the shower and the nicest linen I’ve slept on in a long time. Breakfast was delicious. Didn’t eat other meals in the hotel but the menu looked great. The pool is in a sweet back garden which we had all to ourselves. No good for exercise but perfect for dipping, splashing and cooling off. Well located for a wonder to Love Lane and a gentle walk home after too much hawker food. I love this place. Staff were friendly and helpful but their English (although infinitely better than my Malay) not great.MATHIS RETREAT: "Quiet place in the rice fields"
"Beautiful hotel, very peacefull place. All staff are very kind. Special thanks to the manager Karine who is absolutely dedicated to her guests. Few minutes talk will make her understand exactly what you expect from your trip, and so she will advise you the best excursions and things to do. "Slow Villas and Spa: "Luxe, calme et volupté =)"
Maison Polanka: "We felt very privileged…"
"We felt very privileged to stay at la Maison Polanka. It is not a hotel; no room number, you take off your shoes before entering your room, someone comes to you with a cold scented towel when entering the property after a walk, a waiter brings you a glass of water when sitting in the garden... Everything is organized to make you feel like you are a special guest! Cathy the manager understands your expectations and is totally dedicated to her job and to make you feel special. (...) The house is authentic, full of charm and character. The garden is amazing and the large pool is warm and always clean. Staying at Maison Polenka made us feel very privileged and we would definitely recommend it for anyone who wishes to find a peaceful, tailored-to-your-needs, beautiful and comfortable place! Merci beaucoup!"Sea Dance Resort: "Perfect"
I was wondering how to describe Sea Dance ,possibly if you can imagine the comfortable feeling of your home crossed with a five star hotel that is as near as I can get. The accommodation is exactly as described and photographed the staff are excellent Faith Helen and Poh are always mentioned and are great but every one of them are smiling and helpful, I wish I had space to give them all a name check. What ever you needed was arranged without fuss. The food was mouth watering , drinks the same including the complementary 'gin and tonic' ice lolly !!!! The beach is rocky but the pool is fab. I could go on but just to say from airport pick up to airport drop off Sea Dance was unbeatable.Samuay & Sons: "Great meal well worth a visit"
We were meeting friends in Nong Khai and they asked us to go to their favourite restaurant in the area. We were not disappointed and can fully understand why they enjoy it so much. It's a narrow restaurant with a sort of mezzanine that allows you to overlook the restaurant and see the food being prepared and cooked from upstairs. It does not hold too many customers. The staff were very friendly, but the food is the real star of the show. It is fresh, tasty and well presented. A real surprise was the lovely desserts. I look forward to going back again for our next visit.Blackitch Artisan Kitchen: "Great evening! great dinner"
"David takes pride in his small restaurant, making everything from scratch, you can see a lot of what he is working on on shelves next to the walls. Not only did we have an excellent 10 course meal - which was fairly priced considering the care and dedication that he put in, but he made sure to call us a cab (himself!) and make sure we got off in the direction of our hotel...."
