Satri House: "Wonderfully peaceful boutique hotel"
"Had a wonderful time at Satri house in late August for the first few days of our honeymoon. The whole hotel is full of the most fascinating antiques and curios, and is really beautifully designed. We stayed up in the Satri House suite, in the building where the prince of Laos used to sleep! The suite was so beautiful, and had a view over the serene swimming pool. If you are a fan of vintage and mid-century antiques, you will love it! Whilst staying at Satri House (due to it being the raining season) there were no other guests, so we were treated to the experience of staying in our 'own private mansion' with all of the fabulous and incredibly helpful staff there to cater for our every need. Just perfect! No matter the time of day or how late we had been out, we always returned to the hotel to find 4 people at the front desk ready to help us, and two behind the pool side bar, just in case we fancied ordering a drink! The food deserves special mention too. Dinner on the first night was delicious - lots of carefully crafted local specialities with 5* presentation. Although the hotel is set away from the main part of town, it's still within walking distance or a very easy 2 minute tuk tuk ride. We preferred being slightly further out as the peace and quiet was exactly what we wanted at the end of the day. "Villa Mathis: "Excellent Villa, total luxury and fabulous helpful friendly staff – the best"
"We stayed as a family group of 4 adults. The rooms and layout are unique, not like any hotel I have stayed in. We had our own private chill out area and pool, total luxury, very beautiful tucked away in the gardens. very secluded but with access to main hotel pool and restaurant area. The staff were magnificent and the rooms lavishly designed, spacious with lovely bathrooms, very special. This is a honeymoon quality destination."Rachamankha: "Oasis in the midst of Old City"
Your stay in Chiang Mai will be very special when you stay at Rachamankha. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, gorgeous antiques abound throughout, and the guest rooms are spacious and well designed. There is a huge pool with beautiful blue tile, a library offering books as well as brandy, and a restaurant that offers wonderful Asian and Western dishes. The property provides a very peaceful and tranquil environment and children are not allowed as guests to maintain the ambiance for adults. There is a large DVD library available for free viewing. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Please note, it may be hard for taxi drivers to find as it is on a small lane/alleyway - my first driver had to call the hotel 4 times before finally finding it! But it was well worth the effort.Locavore: "Spectacular Food, Great Cocktail Pairings, Beautiful Service"
"This is absolutely a place to be highly recommended. We went for the seven course meal with cocktail pairings and were definitely not disappointed. The restaurant is located on a busy street in the center of Ubud but inside its an oasis of quiet and style. Before the actual seven course meal started several amuses were served, all highly innovative, delicious and interesting. The menu changes regularly and I think there's little point going over the individual dishes but here's a couple of things to note: - There's a seven and a five course meal. If you are not a big eater five might be more than enough since there will also be some amuses and extras. - The restaurant does an all-vegetarian variety of the seven/five course meal. In case you can't choose, it's perfectly fine to have one and your partner the other. Courses are served at the same time but do come with other cocktail pairings. - The cocktail pairings are really a treat. However don't think of them as regular cocktails, more like smaller/less potent versions (so you won't be completely drunk at the end of the evening). - If you rather have wine with your meal the restaurant has an interesting wine list. - - Cocktail pairings for two equal roughly two bottles of house wine to give you an indication of prices. - We paid about four million Indonesia Rupiah (or four hundred Singapore dollars). For that we had two cocktails to start with, one veg and one non-veg seven-course meal, plus cocktail pairings. Absolutely worth it."Maison Polanka: "Of excellence and sincerity"

Above all, the team at Maison Polanka exude sincere warmth, friendliness and passion for what they do. Thank you "Team Maison Polanka!"The Island Lodge: "Wow"
"We started our day with a jolt. We had asked for a bicycle tour in the Mekong area, and started on 1A, one of the busiest roads in Vietnam. That lasted about an hour, and we almost died several times from close encounters with scooters, trucks and the like. This is not what we had signed up for. After that, to end the day at The Island Lodge was like a bit of Heaven. The hotel was small, unexpected, welcoming and a haven of calm. I don't get the rating systems. This hotel is rated three star. I would rate it much higher. The next day we stayed at a three star in Vinh Long. What a dump that was. Going from Heaven to Hell. And kudos to owner Michel. We like wine with our meals. Good and reasonably priced wine is hard to find in Asia. Leave it to a Frenchman like Michel to have an excellent house wine that is both good tasting and reasonably priced. And the meals were very very good. We only stayed one night. We wanted to stay more (you have no idea; near death experiences engender an appreciation for the finer things in life) and will be back. If you have the opportunity, do stay here. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Mie Cafe: "One of our favorites in Siem Reap"
We had lunch three times at this wonderful restaurant. It was critiqued in an article by Lawrence Osborne at saver.com, and what a find it was. We loved the tuna tartare with mango, the stuffed ravioli, grilled eggplant with pork, the mango passionfruit sorbet, and a chocolate cake to die for. Also their iced lattes are delicious.Tugu Bali: "My kind of Paradise!"
It was one of a kind romantic experience to stay in Tugu Bali Hotel. All was amazing there! The hotel is a kind of a museum, exhibiting a collection of ancient Asian art and crafts, sellected by the owner himself. Walking on alleys, passing through the lobby or some of the restaurants, you not only enjoy the design, but you learn a lot about the culture in details. The romantic villas make you feel more than special. My husband and I are higly impressed by Tugu Bali!Hotel Tugu Malang: "Fantastic home away from home"
"Currently staying here with my family in executive suite for 5 nights. I usually wait awhile before doing reviews if at all, but I needed to do this. The hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Malang. Originally a colonial house that was renovated and expanded into the current 5 star hotel. Very centrally located in Malang. The decorations are very unique and truly a different feel with the various antiques and furnishings that have been collected by the owners over the years. Took a tour and hired a professional photographer to take pictures of us throughout the various spaces where the antiques are. Art, Ceramics, statues, ancient pottery, furniture, and much more. Staff are friendly and always very prompt and trying to help. My kids actually prefer to just stay in hotel rather than go out to see city and other attractions it’s so comfortable here! Rooms are clean and Well maintained. Spacious. Good mattress and linens etc. Well worth the stay and price is great for a true 5 Star hotel! Will stay here again no doubt."Mie Cafe: "Good menu well executed"
"Left our group for dinner here with my wife. Was not disappointed. Simple but very pleasant atmosphere. Very good service. A well thought out menu with interesting takes on Khmer cuisine. A great take on beef carpaccio, wonderful snake head fish ceviche, outstanding huge langoustinos in curry over sweet potato purée. The krill raviolis were were milder than expected, but well prepared. Great ice cream and sorbet. A coconut milk panna cotta with black rice and mango sorbet was wonderful. A little more expensive than other places, but worth it."
