4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Blissful luxury"

Review by: MelD075 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Have just spent 3 nights in this breathtakingly beautiful part of Cambodia and can't recommend this place highly enough. The setting is serene and absolutely beautiful, surrounded by a forest rich with birdlife and native animals. The floating tents are very nicely appointed and comfortable. Thid is how camping should be! What made the stay for me was the excellent service provided by professional and attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble and the focus is very much on the visitor enjoying their stay. From the restaurant staff to the guides who took us on a day tour to the waterfall, the staff are friendly and more than happy to share information about this beautiful region and their culture. The food was amazing with a changing set menu and lots of a la carte options, utilising local fresh ingredients. A good range of wine, beer and spirits is also on offer. The concept of no tv, no telephones and no internet may be challenging for some however the opportunity to sit and watch river life and the natural environment is priceless. This was the highlight of my Cambodia trip and I can't recommend this experience highly enough"

Kenanga Hotel: "Beautiful, serene – loved every minute of our stay here!"

Review by: Priyanka A | Source: tripadvisor.com
"The first thing that strikes you when you enter the resort is the beauty of the place. Its a narrow entrance which first leads to the pool on one side and the restaurant on the other, with a huge rice field in front... its a beautiful feeling. Our room was on one side of the pool, and once again was on a rice field. Very very pretty!! We had a nice patio, the room was a good size, comfortable and the bathroom was clean and spacious. The food was good, but the cozy setting made the meal very special. The staff was very polite, and efficient. The manager was very helpful, and really helped us get the most of our time in Ubud. She had a lot of helpful tips for us. The resort is located about 40 mins walk from Ubud centre, which means that its quiet and not hectic at all. There is a shuttle every hour to take you to the city centre, so its quite convenient. I only wish the shuttle operated past 5 pm, but there are plenty of taxis to take you to the centre. I would recommend Kenanga to anyone who wants to visit Ubud."

The Village House: "Wonderful boutique accommodation"

Review by: GayleHerrera | Source: Trip Advisor
"Had a wonderful stay at the Village House. It has all the right ambience for a stay in Sarawak. Ideal for visitors who want to trek Mt Santubong, as they provide a shuttle going to and back from the start of the trail. The breakfast included in your room payment is fantastic and their lunch and dinner menu are just right if you want to try Malay and local cuisine. Room Tip: Rooms near the pool are ideal if you like the sound of flowing water"

Maduzi Hotel: "Little gem of a hotel"

Review by: Nat E | Source: Trip Advisor
"Just stayed for 2 nights in this hotel which doesn't look like much from the outside & is on busy road but don't let that fool you as it is gorgeous inside & road noise is minimal. All the staff were friendly & helpful. Price is reasonable too especially having come from Shangri-La. It has the right boutique effect in terms of decor & little extras. The tap from the ceiling into the infinity jacuzzi was unique. There was a proper coffee machine in the room which had one of the largest beds I've ever slept in (sheets were amazingly soft too). Can't rate this high enough & I would definitely return if I went back to Bangkok. Great location for night life & a few stops to main shopping malls. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"

muang la: "So glad we chose to stay here"

Review by: Gordon C | Source: tripadvison.com
"When we were looking for a place to get away from the standard visitor locations in South east Asia, this resort was proposed as an option. One of the best decisions we made on the holiday. It takes some effort to get there but it really is worth it. It is such a tranquil location, by the river with great settings for meals, the pool on the island. The rooms are excellent and the service from the staff first rate. They truly aim to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Language is a barrier at times but we were more than ok with this as given it's location this type of resort must, as it does, put a lot back to the community. The food was of a high standard and the 5 course tasting menu for dinner really suited us. High quality food and allowing you to try dishes we wouldn't normally try. What probably added the extra touch for us though were the day trip options provided. If you enjoy walking and want to see how village life in this part of Laos is, then this is perfect. With a local guide we learned so much about the culture and were able to very naturally engage with people in the villages. Relaxing in the resort after each day made for a great balance. Muang La was a real highlight of our holiday. I thoroughly recommend it. "

The Island Lodge: "Wow"

Review by: ndbob73 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We started our day with a jolt. We had asked for a bicycle tour in the Mekong area, and started on 1A, one of the busiest roads in Vietnam. That lasted about an hour, and we almost died several times from close encounters with scooters, trucks and the like. This is not what we had signed up for. After that, to end the day at The Island Lodge was like a bit of Heaven. The hotel was small, unexpected, welcoming and a haven of calm. I don't get the rating systems. This hotel is rated three star. I would rate it much higher. The next day we stayed at a three star in Vinh Long. What a dump that was. Going from Heaven to Hell. And kudos to owner Michel. We like wine with our meals. Good and reasonably priced wine is hard to find in Asia. Leave it to a Frenchman like Michel to have an excellent house wine that is both good tasting and reasonably priced. And the meals were very very good. We only stayed one night. We wanted to stay more (you have no idea; near death experiences engender an appreciation for the finer things in life) and will be back. If you have the opportunity, do stay here. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

Villa Song Saigon: "Elegant and sophisticated"

Review by: Roger L | Source: Trip Advisor
"We loved this immaculate hotel. French colonial chic, beautiful garden restaurant on the river beautifully lit at night for great dining ambience. The food was excellent and the standard of service throughout the hotel was super-friendly and efficient. A great plus is its peaceful location on the river with great views of the city, although that means that it is a bit of a trek to the centre. However, the hotel provides a free shuttle boat which makes it an enjoyable journey, and anyway, with a hotel like this, we were more than happy to enjoy the pool and dine there. Highly recommended. Would definitely book here again. Room Tip: Go for a river view room"
