Locavore: "Wonderful Experience, but book ahead or be disappointed"
"Very popular, small, expensive but very very good. We went here for dinner. Thank goodness we had skipped lunch after reading the reviews. We ordered the 5 course Otak-Otak which eventually turned into about 12 dishes as there are delightful little pre/post dinner treats along the way. What a wonderful surprise. The staff are fabulous and explained each dish as each one has it's own quirkiness - a bit fusion east meets west . . . . very tasty. We enjoy the evening very much and after our three hour eating safari we were very full. Would highly recommend for a special dinner or lunch out in Ubud, but do book in advance. No shows and late late comers are fined accordingly."Rakkojae Seou: "Beautiful hanok"
I stayed here for 3 nights. The hostess and Kim, hanok manager, were very nice and warm-hearted people. I would recommend this place to travelers who seek traditional hanok to stay. My tour guide told me other hanoks are small compared to Rakkojae. The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Beautiful and charming hotel"
Cabochon is a unique boutique hotel for people looking for a place different than the cookie cutter hotels in the city. Beautifully decorated and set back from busy street, it's still centrally located and close to Skytrain so very easy to get around. Staff were all extremely nice and the breakfast that was included was a nice selection of both Asian and Western options. Rooftop pool was also a nice option to have. The Village House: "Lovely Place, PEACEFUL!"
Booked for 1 Night for my propose day, is a great place especially you want to do nothing by just relaxing and enjoy the day..very friendly staff, romantic and quiet as well. surrounding are nice but a bit lack of light at night at the backyard. by the way, i have to give extra credit about the pool.Bali Jiwa Villa: "A dream becomes reality"
"The Bali Jiwa Villas are one of the most beautiful places I ever been. Apart of the beauty of the location - situated in the middle of rice field ( without destroying them ) the Villas are very carefully furnished. The wonderful furnishing taste signs of deep understanding the story of Bali. The charm of this place is simply stunning. Big bathroom ( indoor ad outdoor ), wonderful bed and sheets, enlightened by big windows and the wonderful pool just in front of every villa, very clean and just the way it should be. The staff is amazing and the food is typically balinese - very tasty and home made with a lots of attention. A real place to calm down, to enter in the deep soul of Bali - and a place where service is written in very big big letters.."VILLA SONG SAIGON: "Beautiful and relaxing introduction to Vietnam"
"Shuttle water taxis allowed easy entry into the city and a quick escape at the end of the day. Tours to chi chi tunnels and Mekong delta pick you up at their river jetty and make for a beautiful way to experience the beauty of Ho Chi Minh. The facilities at the hotel were top notch and unobtrusive. The hotel's exceptional service was appreciated and staff were friendly and efficient. it is definitely the hotel to go to if you are starting your trip or ending it. Spoil yourself and give yourself at least 3-5 nights here so you can soak up the pleasures of riverside living in Ho Chi Minh City. "Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Exceptional"
It is impossible to describe Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. The scenery is breath taking, the food deliciously superb, the ambiance and staff first class. As a disabled person I (Allan) greatly appreciated having the bungalow closest to the main building. Marcus and his staff could not have been kinder or more considerate. Wish we could have stayed longer. As we are not exactly in the first flush of youth, it is unlikely that we will visit Nepal again but if we do we will certainly visit Tiger Mountain again. We wish Marcus and his team every success for the future. Sandra and AllanCheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A Step Back In Time"
Recently visited Cheong Fatt Tze's Blue Mansion in Georgetown. All in all I was glad I went as I learned a lot about the original owner. The tour guide was a fascinating raconteur. I could tell she had told this story a few times in the 18 years she had worked there. The quality of the restoration is absolutely amazing. The Hue House: "Possibly best meal in Vietnam"
Came here on our last night in Vietnam. Hidden gem: the restaurant was a bit hard to find. Didn't quite realise it was a rooftop restaurant, the building it is in looks like an office building and there was no signage at the bottom of the building and cafes next door did not know the place either. Anyways, we found it and were incredibly impressed. All dishes were really good, had a mix of noodle and rice dishes and appetisers, lots of flavour, beautiful tastes. If I'd have to call out one dish: rice pancakes w shrimp were fantastic. Possibly the best meal we have had in our fortnight in Vietnam.
