We spent my wive's birthday here and it was just wonderful. The love everything here - the ambience, the room, the food, the wine and the very friendly and highly skilld personal. "We were looking for a more traditional and authentic Balinese experience and Hotel Tugu Bali exceeded our expectations by far. The hotel overlooking Canggu beach is built from temple remains and furnished with the largest collection of Balinese antiques and artworks. The grounds were beautiful and immaculate with large, amazing, comfortable rooms. The food was beautiful at the fine-dining restaurants (this included a Japanese Restaurant, Ji). Each afternoon complimentary 'High-tea' with local and western delicacies was provided which we never missed! The staff were excellent - so friendly, helpful and willing to assist in any way. This was exemplified by the Manager, Jenny Bellora. The close proximity of the surf kept my husband very happy each day and I enjoyed the relaxing time spent by the pool. Canggu itself is a new and developing area in Bali and the hotel was within walking distance to lovely shops, restaurants, boutiques and a local market. Room Tip: Rejang Suite (bedroom and verandah). For the more traditional stay this is the place for you. The rooms are adorned in cedar and their is an outdoor shower that is just divine. Tea and coffee making is included and they have great wi fi as long as a storm doesn't interrupt the feed :) . The staff are so courteous and will do anything to make your stay the best possible experience on the lake. The pool is large and the spa is excellent and very reasonable in price.The Governor’s House: "Highly recommended"
I had a great stay at Governors House. The staff were warm and accommodating without being overbearing; the property and rooms were perfectly curated and cozy; and the grounds were absolutely lovely. I stayed in GH as a respite prior to a few weeks of intense work, during which I was lodged at a bigger international chain hotel that - although more 'luxury' - didn't have the charm or the homeyness of this property. I'd highly recommend it for travelers looking for a more stylish, and more personal, lodging experience in Phnom Penh.MesaStila Resort and Spa: "TRULY STUNNING IN EVERY WAY"
"We are a family of four from Australia, includng two young daughters. We stayed here for three nights. Firstly, all the staff are welcoming, friendly and wonderful. We had dinner here for the three nights and each meal was absolutely delicious. Great cocktails too! The breakfast is also amazing. My two daughters and I did yoga in the morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is so much to do and enjoy, so many activities. Great for children. Nothing is too much trouble with the staff. The surroundings are beautiful as is the atmosphere. We enjoyed afternoon tea on the verandah each day. We had a family day at the spa, with my daughters getting a hair cut and style, whilst I enjoyed a manicure. Words cannot describe this beautiful place, seeing is believing. The food, ambience and service are exceptional. The restaurant seems to be single handedly elevating the fine dining scene in Chiang Mai (one would expect a restaurant of this caliber in Bangkok or Hong Kong rather than Chiang Mai). We spent three days at Muang La resort. We went in the low season so had the resort (10 room resort) to ourselves. We had a river view room (highly recommend) and we could hear the relaxing sounds of the river flowing outside our room. The resort has two elevated hot tubs, using water from the hot natural springs. We enjoyed a Lao massage too. The resort is set on the river, which is constantly used by the local villagers to fish and bathe. We organised a couple of excursions once we had arrived. This was probably easy for us to do as we were the only residents. The food was great. Every night there was a five course set menu based on local Laos cuisine. Breakfasts were great, with tropical fruits, divine home made yoghurt, croissants and scrolls, as well as eggs as you like them. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The village of Muang La is a little difficult to get to but worth the effort. I am happy to recommend Muang La.Inle Princess Resort: "Best place to stay in Inle Lake"
We enjoyed staying at this resort as it was both quiet and remote yet close to busy lake and its wonderful sights. The locally recruited staff is great and makes you feel truly welcome. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel given the location and enjoyed our food every time.
