"Beautiful Private Villa with with Private Pool My husband and I have a honeymoon staycation in this villa, and we loved it so much. It's located not too far away from the beach, but enough distance to stay away from the crowd. So it’s very perfect for honeymon. We've got a very beautiful spacey villa with a private pool and very spacey backyard. We stay at Villa Number 1. With beautiful interior and big bed, also we love the open bathroom so much! We Love the Eco Concept Slow Villas is very eco-friendly, we’ve got our own bottle for drink and we can bring it outside, wether for dinner outside or beach time. We can also refill it everytime, we don’t need to buy extra water. We’ve got our own kitchen with complete utensil, so you can stay all day long at the villa. And we’ve got yoga matt, which I never found on another villa/hotel, we can join the free yoga clas everyday at ten in the morning. The Best Breakfast! Because Slow VIlla doesn’t have restaurants, they will serve the breakfast at our villa, which you can choose from English themed-breakfast to Australia to America. It’s very delicious. We enjoy it on our table beside the pool. Photogenic Villas As a travel writer and enthusiast, I love taking pictures of anything. And I love every side of our villa. It's beautiful and we made a lot of beautiful pictures. lol! Best Services The staffs were very nice, also we can rent the bicycle anytime. "The hotel lays on the lake, and you need to get there by boat. The trip is so relaxing you starting getting into the rythm. The last part of the trip, has to be done rowing, they do not allow the noise of the boat motors bother their customers. It is just incredible. They preserve the customer rest and we even got a note from the direction apologizing because a monastery nearby had night prayers due to some festivity. The room we got was facing the lake directly. We woke up in the morning with the amazing views, and even some ducks feeding right below us. We enjoyed the best sunsets and dawns from our room porch. We visited in December, one of the coldest months there (around 18-20 ºC) but we got the option to light our chimney (yes we had one) and warm up there. The restaurant was spacious and the food amazing. They service was super educated, we got a waiter very young that clearly was being trained and we could only praise the teacher and the pupil. Hands down one of the best restaurants in Asia, if not the world. We had the tasting menu paired with cocktails. Every item is delicious and has story to it. Listening to chef explaining the ingredients and how each menu is cooked is part of the fun. It’s like a culinary to the Indonesian cuisine with modern interpretations. If there’s a Michelin guide here in Indonesia, Locavore deserves at least 2 stars!!Locavore: "Our second time, our second amazement"
"We went to Locavore for lunch, and again, were amazed by the whole experience. As soon as we walked in, we spotted all these amazing chefs working around the tiny kitchen, like ballet dancers except for it was their hands who were at the core of the coregraphy. Except for the ""bienvenue"", there was not a single dish that was in the menu when we visited the first time. And we therefore embarked on a 100% new cullinary adventure. We went for the 7-dishes menu, and all of you reading this and planning to try, please do the same. Yes that's a lot, but you may eat less in the evening if you are there for lunch, or just go for a walk afterwards if you dine there. Portions are perfectly sized, and there was not a single bite when we thought ""hum, pretty good"". It was a ""that's unbelievably good""!!!! We went for a very reasonably priced Tempranillo and it did perfectly match everything. We are lucky enough to often have the opportunity to eat at very good restaurants. Locavore offers one of the very very best value-for-money experience. If not the best. In our opinion that is. Make sure you book several weeks ahead if for dinner. Slightly less for lunch. "My husband and I read the reviews on TripAdvisor and made a reservation at Davids. What a great experience. We met David upon entering the restaurant and welcomed us to his restaurant. He was genuinely engaged in conversation and we knew we would be in for a treat that evening. The food was wonderful, started with the salmon salad and spicy fish salad and both had fish dishes. The restaurant had a great ambiance with an upscale but not stuffy feel. What was really impressive besides having a dinner that was more than just good food, but a great experience was that David sent a follow up email the next day thanking us for dining at his restaurant and wishing us well on our next location on our trip. When does the owner ever send a follow up email?! Bravo, David! We loved the experience and already recommend your restaurant to a friend that is visiting chiang mai soon."
