Talabgaon Castle Heritage Resort: "An absolute delight"
"We accidentally stumbled upon this place while looking for a place to spend the night due to unwanted delays during our road trip and it was an absolute delight. The castle itself is breathtakingly beautiful and very well maintained. The staff is highly courteous. We were welcomed like family despite the odd hour. Our caterer Sandeep deserves a special mention here who made our stay even more memorable. The food was delicious and the hospitality that went with it was amazing. Pool is very well maintained. Room was very good and comfortable. Above all every effort was made to meet all our requirements. We booked a camel ride at a very short notice causing them a lot of inconvenience. But the camel was not feeling well. Being animal lovers, we felt extremely happy about the humane treatment that was given to that animal. The manager apologized profusely, despite it not being his fault, and did not charge a single rupee for the cancelled ride. Kudos to you Mr. Singh for running the amazing show. There is no downside. Even the slightly bad road leading to the castle is totally worth the experience. Only regret is we could not stay longer due to further commitments and therefore we are planning to visit soon with family."Samanea Beach Resort: "Beautiful hotel"
"Samanea is a beautiful hotel in an incredible setting. The grounds are immaculate and the gardens are perfectly kept. The pond is really lovely, and the swimming pool is excellent. The jetty and the boardwalk around the mangroves brings you closer to the sea and to nature. The bungalows are superb, with a separate lounge area and a nice indoor/outdoor bathroom. Not too many mosquitoes, which surprised me being close to so much natural water. Many guests are weekenders from Phnom Penh, so if you visit midweek you may even have the place to yourself. Staff very helpful. I also had no problem reducing the number of nights I'd booked when changed my travel plans. Areas for improvement: 1. Communication between managers and reception staff is poor. I needed to organise transport in several occasions, but constantly found myself having to start from the beginning each time I spoke to someone different. With the language barrier, this caused a problem more than once. 2. People have a habit of forgetting things! eg tuktuk pick-ups to take me to the bus station, forgetting to service the room one day, food items from the restaurant. 3. The restaurant could be better. Items out of stock one day after another, things missing from an order, breakfast not really explained very well (I'm still unsure what exactly is included in the room rate!), quality variable. Maybe it's because much of their business is done at weekends? 4. Wifi is very unpredictable. Similar hotels in many other countries/resorts could easily charge far more than the rates at Samanea and you wouldn't feel shortchanged, so, notwithstanding the things that could be improved on, Samanea gets 5 stars for being great value for money and having a very friendly bunch of staff always willing to help."Supanniga Luxury Bangkok River Cruises: "Amazing cruise with fabulous food"
We had an amazing dinner with very romantic atmosphere and a perfect service. We enjoyed the food and champagne a lot!Mudanwan Villa: "A liberation of body and soul"
"Uncharted territory of southern minority spa, goose-screen road all the way south into County Road 199 Pingtung County Checheng, then passing to 199 A at 7.5k reach peony Bay villa, along the way through Sihjhongsi spa area, peony social events site Shihmen ancient battlefield, overlooking the surrounding mountainside peony reservoir from Shimen village, all the way beautiful panoramic view. It felt almost has to end, would like opposite! A quiet rustic journey was about to kick off an excellent spring water, mountain and sea delicious flavor ingredients presented, body and soul this liberation. "Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "The Last of a Dying Breed"
"They don't make hotels like this anymore. Which is a pity, because a stay at Tiger Mountain is about so much more than just 'physical' luxury. It's enriching - visually, intellectually and emotionally. First things first - it's a fantastic property, perched high up on a mountain overlooking the Pokhara Valley with fantastic views of the Annapurna range. This is eco-luxury at its finest : great views, great service, great food but with minimal environmental impact. The rooms are nice, in a spartan sort of way (no TV, no WiFi, no aircon - not that you need it) with four poster beds, charmingly rustic furniture and a private, sit out balcony. The food is fantastic - among the best you will ever have, whether it's traditional Nepali fare or the more Western dishes that are traditionally served at dinner. But many hotels have great views, great rooms and great food. Tiger Mountain's secret weapon are it's guests and the fact that dinner is a communal meal where all the guests get together over 4 courses and copious amongst of alcohol. Over the course of 3 nights we met a couple who had driven a Land Rover from London to South Africa and who were currently doing relief work in Nepal, a Scotsman who spent a year living in a campervan with him family and his dog, and an ex military attache who also oversaw the recruitment of Gurkhas for the British Army. Simply put, these are things money can't buy. And that's to say nothing of Marcus, the Managing Director of the place who makes it a point to have a drink with every one of his guests and who has a number of remarkable insights and anecdotes about Nepal, India, England and everything in between to share. If you're looking for a traditional luxury hotel with every modern comfort, this property probably isn't for you. But if you're looking for old world charm, delightful dinnertime conversations and a view that just doesn't quit, Tiger Lodge has your number. It may be a bit pricey, but it's Worth Every Penny."Sandat Glamping Tents: "Words don´t describe this unique place"
"This place is like no other. Best in Bali! We stayed here for three nights around New Year 2016, one night in a tent and two nights in a lumbung. Everything was just very unique and perfect, from entering the property to check out. The interior design, the garden and the plants, the tatched bamboo roofs and buildings not to mention the tents and the lumbungs, the pool overlooking the jungle and the ricefield surroundings. I would say Sandat has the friendliest staff in Bali and the supernice and friendly Italian owners have managed to create a spotless concept. The interior design and sophisticated taste just crowned it all! Sandat is just ca 10-15 minutes drive from Ubud center and has a totally unique atmosphere; tranquility, lush, nature, green with the jungle on one side and the rice fields on the other side. The place will have their own yoga studio from spring 2016. If you're about to book something for Ubud, don't hesitate to go for this. You won't regret it! We even returned after a week of traveling around Bali and spend our last days at this fantastic place. Big thumbs up to the Italian owners Emanuela and Federico!"CABOCHON: "Excellent. A must stay while in Bangkok"
"This hotel is small yet feels luxurious. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need. The staff were a delight - helpful, informative and friendly. The food at breakfast and at dinner was excellent - delicious, adventurous and beautifully presented. The restaurant and breakfast room are a treasure trove of artefacts. The roof top pool is a wonderful touch with views that give you a very good feel for Bangkok. "Manukan Island Resort: "Staff are there main asset"
"We visited here for a 4 night short holiday at the end of our main holiday in Malaysia. We were very impressed with all the staff at the resort. They excel in customer service and really do go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable. We made some comments about the breakfast ( not covered / few flies buzzing around) - it was addressed straightway, professionally. The chalet we had was very nice and enjoyed having our little beach to come and go as we please. Everywhere is very clean. The island it self doesn't have a huge choice of things to do, other than snorkel, and is definitely bring a book place. The island is busy during the day with day trippers but it's great at night when you get it you self - you get to wander about, sat on the jetty watching the fish. There a few good food choices - the main restaurant is good - slightly more expressive than mainland but then food is imported. You might get tired of the menu after a few days - a refresh or daily specials would be good. It's doesn't offer a huge number of options for families but if you just want somewhere to relax and watch the world go by with excellent services I would recommend."Summertime Villa: "A Paradise."
Summertime Villa represents the beautiful journey of Sucheta and Hans together and their various travel tales...There will never be a dull moment during you stay! Every corner of this gorgeous place represents the taste and expertise of its beautiful owners..The staff is so helpful and polite with smiles on their faces..The meals that they serve is to die for with so much of love in it, be it local or international cuisine!! Whether watching birds, reading books or having simple conversations over a glass of wine, this place will embrace you unconditionally! Please do visit this place to add some everlasting and memorable moments in your lives......Maduzi Hotel: "Perfect place"
A great summary of what you can expect in Bangkok - great place, wonderful people! Further the location also couldn't be better if looking for getting easily around in Bangkok. Overall perfect stay and for sure I will come back in due course.
