Rachamankha: "Top notch"
"Was hesitant at first to stay there as the competition was strong from resort chains; i dont regret it at all! Rooms were furnished very well, amenities in the room were great, staff were friendly, the bed is a bit hard, but after i mentioned it to the reception, it was fixed. It was a superb experience as no kids are there, the pool was big and clean, you get your peace of mind. Landscaping was a highlight as theuly utilised nature to their benefit. Its located in the middle of the city and close to almost all locations you want to visit in Chiang Mai. We booked the hotel driver who was a perfect tour guide and took us around. The food menu for breakfast was not extensive, nevertheless, you can tell that the quality of the food was great and the presentation was even better. Highly recommend the place if youre going to relax and have a break from life in general, well done Rachamanka"VILLA SONG SAIGON: "Indulged myself"
"Travelling solo and arriving jet-lagged in Saigon, I wanted to indulge myself in a little luxury before my onward journey. Villa Song lived up to my expectations. I really enjoyed my Writer's Room - all dark wood, sparsely decorated but tasteful with a charming balcony. I slept so well that I have considered smuggling the bed back home with me! The staff were extraordinary...very helpful for this first time traveller to Vietnam. I enjoyed my a la carte breakfasts by the river, especially the fact that they were served all day. Just right for jet-lagged, lazy, old me. I have really enjoyed my three - night stay at the Villa Song. To be recommended, especially if you need a little peace and quiet, in elegant surroundings from the whirlwind that is Ho Chi Minh City. "Villa Song Saigon: "Lovely little gem"
We travelled with our family. The hotel is a little oasis in an over crowded city. Its a boutique hotel on the river. It is away from the city and the hustle bustle. The hotel staff is very attentive. There is only one restaurant but the menu is quite vast and everything we tried was really good. The hotel is very good about directing you to nice restaurants in the area if you prefer to eat out.The River Resort: "Magical Mekong River views – with good food and a spa!"
"We stayed three nights at this lush and green, rather smart resort, arranged for us by Selective Asia. Our family villa room was upstairs, with a balcony and absolutely wonderful views over the Mekong. Great to watch the fishermen at sunrise from the balcony or from bed, with a cup of tea made in our room, or enjoy a drink from the minibar listening to the crickets as the sun set. A magical spot indeed. You’ll need your anti mosquito lotion for sitting out in this location, but the resort villa rooms have good nets and our room was realatively easy to keep mosquito free! We ate at the hotel open air restaurant every evening and found plenty to choose from, with a good range of western and Asian options. We enjoyed all our meals, and service was excellent. Breakfast was good too, but we would have liked some more bread options as well as the rather sweet slices there were to toast (e.g. brown?) - but maybe that’s not available at this slightly remote location. One of us had a massage at the spa, which was great and a lovely option to have right on site. Hotel provided us with a boat crossing to meet our guide at the opposite river bank, which was ideal and very prompt and comfortable. We also had laundry done, which was not expensive and very convenient. Sadly we didn’t get chance to use the free bikes. All in all a wonderful spot and a lovely exclusive hotel, and we loved having it as our base for exploring the Mekong River and the nearby Wat Phou UNESCO Site."Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "The boutique resort in Samui"
"The small and best resort in Samui. First of all, they offered me free upgrade to pool villa beach front which was the best view. Second, staff was very helpfully and warmly, one of them support me to called with a agent tour who miss pick up me. Finally, I am feel like stayed at home when they treat me as well as possible Love this resort, peaceful place, nice beach and services was good Stayed January 2017, traveled solo"The Hue House: "Hard to find paradise"
"What a beautiful magical spot!! You couldn't ask for a more perfect way to cap an evening after a hectic day in Ho Chi Minh City. You have the feel of walking into a Buddhist Temple from a Japanese garden - except it is perched on the 10th floor overlooking the city you just conquered. The authentic Vietnamese food did not disappoint. We were waited on by helpful staff in traditional dress. We were the only ones there our night - perhaps, because it was rainy outside, perhaps, because it was hard to find, or, perhaps, it is just too new and hasn’t built up the word of mouth. Please, help them and go, you will feel very lucky to have had the opportunity. Getting here is the trick. We never saw a sign. All we found was a security guard to one of the buildings on this short block - just east off the Turtle Fountain/Pond. It is the big steel & glass office building - go into the lobby and press the 10th floor from the elevator. It takes you to paradise."Rachamankha: "It felt like a dream"
"This hotel is unreal. You will feel like you are in the movie, The best Marigold hotel. Very quite and calm(no offense to kids and parents, but thanks to their no kids policy) serene. Staffs were soooo nice. Their English was short but they tried their best. Location is perfect. Short walk to temples, street food, and sunday market(Must go!!!-food, music and everything is there, it's huge!!) You will get lost because every street looks the same and similar temples are every corner. We got lost so many times but just take tuk tuk back to your hotel. (I recommend writing down hotel addresss in thai since most drivers dont understand English. Room is beautiful, not 5 star hotel way, but more authentic kind of way which I love. The best part that made me almost cry? We had to leave hotel at 4am to catch our super early flight, they prepared us little bag of sandwiches, fruit, cracker, yogurt and soy milk. We arrived at the airport, nothing was opened, I had the sandwich which was made with love. Almost tasted like what mom makes for the kids. With a lot of love. Almost made me cry. I love love this hotel sooooo much. I will be back very soon."Nimmu House: "un hôtel chaleureux"
"We couldn't have made a better choice for our stay in LP! Used to check all reviews in detail before we make our booking, our expectations were already high when arriving at Satri House, but our experience during our 4 nights stay has beaten this even more. All ingredients for a perfect stay for my wife, our daughters and myself were there! It certainly is a hidden gem! All staff members are super friendly and personal. The warm welcome by Giovanni (the Satri House GM) himself was much appreciated. The atmosphere within Satri House is really special....quiet and majestic...Every single corner of the hotel has special, beautiful decorations and the rooms are very well acquainted with lots of special details. AC is perfect and beds very comfortable...Both swimming pools provided our kids lots of fun after having discovered LP and its surroundings in the heat during the day. Located very little outside the city centre, but with a short of 5 minutes by bike or TukTuk you're at the night market and the city centre. Breakfast is very good and a la carte (a la carte fits more with the atmosphere of Satri House than a buffet, so keep it like this). Marmelades prepared by the lovely grand old lady are delicious and the special birthday cake for our youngest daughter during her birthday was very much appreciated! All in all, having travelled all over the world and stayed in many small boutique hotels in SE Asia, Satri House is a must stay and recommended for 100%! @Giovanni, suppose the buffalo mozzarella of the local buffalo farm has been / will be placed on your menu card....:-)...It would confirm your roots with this secret retreat on the other side of the earth...:-). Regards with lovely memories, Roger, Miranda, Noa and Lily"Mathis Retreat: "A real retreat in beautiful surroundings with wonderful staff"
We received a wonderful, warm welcome at this peaceful haven which is a 10 minute taxi ride from the centre of Ubud. We chose a room in the new block overlooking the rice fields which was just beautiful- the pictures on the website do not do it justice. Fresh fruit was delivered to our room each evening. Breakfast at the Terracotta restaurant overlooking the rice fields was lovely and eating there in the evening was magical. The staff go out of their way to be helpful at every opportunity. We used the hotel as a base from which to explore this fascinating part of the island and would definitely recommend it. Only slight con was the wi fi was very temperamental but a small price to pay!
