Rachamankha: "A real treat to stay here"
An calm and tranquil oasis from the bustling city. So nice just to wander around the charming grounds of the hotel. There are lots of lovey spots to sit down and relax all around the hotel including the library. Very nice pool too. Staff very nice but perhaps not as professional as elsewhere in Thailand. Restaurant is very good without being spectacular.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Nice Place, Friendly Guide"
Aside from the unexpectedly historical building and the long tale of Cheong Fatt Tze and his family, the guide who told us the story was also amazing. Talking enthusiastically about history for almost 2 hours straight mustn't easy. On top of that, she's super friendly and willing to answer every visitors' questions.Sanak Retreat Bali: "Retreat of all retreats"
"We actually stayed here in October 2015 and took the risk of heading up into the mountains to go see what we can find. We came across this special peace of Bali and could not have been happier. The location is stunning and the concept is magical. True Balinese warmth makes this retreat a little slice of heaven. A true experience of all senses and one of the highlights of magical Bali. It is a little trek to get here away from the main coasts and hustle and bustle of Ubud but it is worth it. Step away from the tourist trail and places like this allow you to discover the real beauty of Indonesia and their people. Stayed June 2016, traveled as a couple"Reverie Siam: "Outstanding! Loved everything about it"
"Amazing service, big and quiet rooms, lots of green, great swimmingpools, beautiful decor, best restaurant in town, great price. This hotel is a hidden gem. They even offer local mobile phones for guests to take when going to town, so they can call the hotel for sending a driver to pick them up. I am 100% happy with this hotel. I highly recommend it."Rahai’i Pangun: "Reece trip on Katingan River & Sebangau National Park"
I was lucky to be part of this 5 days Reecee trip - a trip that hasn't been done before. It was very very well organised and the many transfers between the lovely Ruhui Rahayu river boat and the small canoes that brought us along the small black water tributaries, all went smooth. Staying in the stilted house on the black water lake, Danau Bulat, was great. It was wonderful to get special food treats from Ruhui Rahayu brought the 1 km into the lake. The highlight of staying in Sebangau National Park at the WWF lodge was great. So was trekking at night to set the photo trap. Sailing further into Sebangau National Park on the Panggu Alas black water river to the lake with the same name was equally exciting. A wonderful trip. Lisbet (Denmark)Manda De Laos: "Elegant dining, beautiful setting, first rate"
We wanted to have dinner at Manda de Laos, but it was sold out for a corporate event. After being convinced that our Caucasian features would prevent us from slipping in unnoticed with this predominantly Thai business group, we settled on lunch. The food was traditional Lao, informed by classic French technique. We had salad rolls, green papaya salad, roast duck, grilled fish, vegetables and plenty more. All was delicious. And the setting is magnificent. It is all open air seating, built around UNESCO Lotus Ponds with tables on little boardwalks surrounding them. When we went by to make the reservation, there was a man in a small boat floating around pruning the rushes and making everything just so. Service was excellent as was the food, the ambiance and the entire visit. We walked by later that evening to see the entire street backed up with vans dropping off the corporate guests and felt glad to have been able to get in at all. I am sure it is lit beautifully at night, but during the day, we could see the lotus ponds in all their glory. Highly recommended, but reserve early. It is pricey for Laos, but a bargain in any other part of the world.Sea Dance Resort: "Awesome holiday!"
"We we're a family of five staying in a two bedroom pool villa for 10 days in August. We had an awesome time at Seadance Resort. It is a secluded and tranquil place. We rented scooters for the time we were there thus could explore most of the island's beaches, waterfalls, restaurants etc with ease. That gave us the best of both worlds - busy days and coming to the serenity of Seadance in the evenings. Some days we just spent at the pool drinking awesome cocktails (passionfruit mojito was my favorite) and relaxing. Free piña colada ice lollies was a bonus. Friendly and helpful staff made our stay even more pleasant. Thank you especially to Faith, Helen and Poy for adding that more personal touch to your already awesome service as well. We will definitely return to Seadance resort in the future."Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Leopard safari"
"A fabulous 2 nights, expert rangers Noel and Sajith, amazing leopards and bird life, wonderful camp. The Sri Lankan food was the best we had in our two weeks so we can highly recommend. Stayed in a basic double tent the first night Absolutely all you need but the AC double on our last night was a complete treat, beautifully hand made furniture. Will not forget the sounds of wildlife all around Jo and Damian Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Tugu Malang: "One night of beautiful comfort"
This hotel was comfortable in every aspect and staying beautiful while doing it. The service was nice but the main aspect I experienced was the truly magnificent architecture and decoration this hotel have. Keep it up 👍Reverie Siam: "What a little gem of a place this is"
We heard good reports about this place and just had the weekend there. It was probably one of my nicest off the cuff getaways and just a 3 ½ hour drive from Chiangmai. Management is under the careful eye of Sebastian who is English and clearly makes sure that attention to detail is not missed. This property has been magnificently designed to give that period feel and look with close attention to not just the decor but the collection of antiques and artefacts which surround the property. The food and extensive choice of wines was just excellent and I must mention how pleasant and polite all of the staff were. Proof that a small family owned and operated property can be better than those big corporates. We highly recommend this hotel and are already looking forward to our return soon.
