Manda De Laos: "Gorgeous settings!"

Review by: Reffups | Source: Trip Advisor
The waterlilies and the huge pond is reason enough to have a meal at this place. Food is good too. All in all a lovely addition to our Luang Prabang holiday itinerary.

The Apsara Rive Droite: "Six-star service"

Review by: ashleyllee | Source: Trip Advisor
"I've stayed at a lot of hotels, and have never experienced service at the level of what I experienced at the Apsara River Droit. Mr. Han and the rest of the staff will go above and beyond - and even further - to ensure that you have an amazing time in Luang Prabang. I stayed at the hotel from 28 April to 2 May, and was a solo traveler. An example: when I wanted to go to fabric village Ban Xieng Man at 1 pm in sweltering 37 degree weather, and the hotel couldn't find a tuk tuk, they dispatched one of the hotel workers to take me for a 10-minute motorbike ride there. Another example: I left my chargers in my hotel room, and the receptionist drove to the airport terminal so that I could have them before my flight. The rooms are spacious and have every expected amenity (coffee, tea, hair dryer), but the real standout is the balcony. It has both two chairs and a daybed; it was great to sit on the daybed during the extremely hot afternoons. I would highly recommend the second-floor river view rooms; I stayed in room three. I had great views of the garden, the pool and the Nam Khan river. The breakfast was also very generous; the highlight was the three fresh jams (papaya, pineapple and mango). As for the river, it's very easy to call the boat back and forth across the river. It's a 1 minute ride, and I never had to wait. Just as a warning - the stairs on the Luang Prabang side can be quite steep. And be prepared to climb stairs! (Not just at this hotel, but throughout the city). If I had to suggest anything for this hotel - and it would be minor - it would be to have mosquito spray available in rooms! The mosquitos throughout Luang Prabang are vicious, and I would have spent a lot more time on the balcony if it had been readily available. Although, on second thought, I'm sure it would have been readily available had I asked."

Muang La Lodge: "formidable"

Review by: André M | Source: Trip Advisor
Great room overlooking the river. Magnificent bathroom. Raphael and Mathilde are enough for their guests. high-end kitchen, we feasted. The activities are very interesting, beautiful walks in the forest, great track for minority ethnic groups and the descent of the river Nam Ouh is superb. Dream stay at this property which employs people from surrounding villages.

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Great location & beautiful property"

Review by: Benedict T | Source: Trip Advisor
Very friendly & helpful staff, including the manager. Decided to give this hotel a try based on some recommendations, and also due to the fact that i had a work appointment nearby. Great location & many interesting local attractions to visit nearby. Food at the Blue Mansion was brilliant.

Satri House: "Delightful hotel near the center of town"

Review by: andydchen | Source: Trip Advisor
"Very very well done property. The rooms aren't fancy, but they are very comfortable, spacious, clean, and restful. The property is so well designed and manicured. I keep saying to my wife, if I could design a home from stratch, I would design it like the Satri House. Amazing court yards, nooks, crannies, stairways, arcs, balcony just fit together to create an amazing collection of spaces. Service was amazing esp at breakfast. The breakfast itself was simple but very well executed. One of the best hotel experiences we have had. Spa was ok. We had a couples massage and it didn't impress us."

Mume: "Great all around experience"

Review by: Confused_ExpatHanoi | Source: Trip Advisor
MUME clearly deserves to be ranked in asia's top 50 restaurants as its creative menu, intimate settings, and enthusiastic staff. The food itself is very reasonable for the quality level and we loved the atmosphere and creative cocktails that were offered up by the top notch staff. Moreover, we found the setting warm and for this level of service they managed to avoid some of the usual pompous pitfalls of other fine dining restaurants in town. In short, it was our best meal in Taipei and I would strongly recommend booking in advance for anyone planning to visit Taiwan

Villa Mathis: "Very good value for money in a high-end boutique hotel"

Review by: garcijb | Source: Trip Advisor
Tasteful hotel displayed along 5 "villas" (sort of open-air living rooms), each of them with its own swimming pool. Around each villa, there are about 5 independent rooms, mostly with open-air bathrooms (Bali style). Beautiful gardens.

Blackitch Artisan Kitchen: "Unique experience"

Review by: Andrew H | Source: Trip Advisor
"Blackitch is unique. This restaurant must be booked a month in advance - the reason... There are three tables and everything is absolutely awesome. Chef Black creates a new menu every day. Each course is made from ingredients that are fresh... Either imported scallops from Japan flown in, or a selection of greens that are perfectly ripe from the local farm. So don't expect consistency - you will have a new experience with every course, and with some you may like and others not - but each course is made by a master painter experimenting with the wide variety of foods available. Chef Black creates each of the six courses table side and then explains in English or Thai why and how he put together the dish. There were three of us dining. We all choose different courses as our favourite dish - which is testament to the chef's versatility and style. Desert is made from the downstairs kitchen. If you are lucky, you might also get to try the house made plum wine - which was superb with desert. I expect one day the ""kitch"" will be expanded into a Michelin star restaurant - so be sure to book here before that happens. You will never forget the experience of being totally spoiled in this globally unique restaurant."

Samanea Beach Resort: "Perfect chill out place"

Review by: optionalextras | Source: Trip Advisor
We loved it here, our favourite hotel in Cambodia. We stayed in a Junior Suite only for two nights but it was bliss. So quiet and relaxing. Our room was huge and I loved the outside bathroom. We were given many options for breakfast and all were excellent. We only ate one night at the restaurant on site and it was the best meal we had on our trip. The pool was divine and for a lot of the time we were the only ones in it. There were only two things I would suggest to the hotel. One is newer thicker bath towels, another is a top sheet for the bed as the duvet was a little warm. We had no mosquito issues in our room at all. Staying here ticked all the boxes for a wonderful restful break in touring and I would happily return, next time for longer.

Mathis Retreat: "Un seul mot…fabuleux"

Review by: Carolau R | Source: Trip Advisor
"We fell in love with this intimate hotel with magnificent views of a rice field ... The rooms are spacious and very clean and are limited in number which gives its charme.a hotel. Breakfasts are hearty and fresh. We had dinner every night at the hotel restaurant and the Terracotta entire card is excellent. We recommend the tuna tataki input a killer! The Mathis offers a free shuttle to downtown. Very friendly staff and very caring. In the evening we are surrounded by the sound of crickets and frogs ... the morning woken by birds .. the dream :-) "
