4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "<3"
A few days before the trip, I happened to feel insecure about the trip. Because it was my first time to go such an adventurous place without my family members. As the day came, i still joined with my friends. My first impression about the hotel was the "Security" that they gave to me. I was actually over thinking about how dangerous it was to visit a place located in the middle of the river surrounded by the forest. But I felt relieved as they did everything they could to have my trust. My second impression was the interaction between the people and the environment. It was so refreshing and beautiful. That's how the nature is supposed to be like. My third impression would be the hotel, 4 Rivers Floating Lodge itself. It was incredibly amazing how the products that were placed in the hotel were actually could be decomposed and not going to effect the environment. The facilities that we needed in our daily life were placed in the hotel too even though it's on the river. I felt so safe and secure because they provided materials that could save us in some cases. The people were so nice and polite. The foods was great in every meals and the transportation was good too. I've learned something new there. I hope to visit that place again <3Blackitch Artisan Kitchen: "An incredible, unique experience. Must do for Foodies."
The calibre of food served here was exceptional. I couldn't find much information online at all after reading about it in the Guardian earlier this year before we went so we took a gamble, and I'm so glad we did. Chef Black served us 9 courses, all surprises and chosen by him, throughout the evening, coming out and explaining in detail each one and why he paired ingredients together. Distinctive fine dining food with an asian influence - lots of fish! We paid 1200 Baht for a bottle of wine (which was absolutely delicious) and 1600 Baht each for the food. If you're some who loves fine food and the complexities of pairing, go with an open mind and you won't be disappointed. The Cabochon Hotel: "French Indochine Chic"
This hotel is set in an elegant period building down a quiet lane. It has a 1920s period styling with a bit of big game hunter and French colonialism thrown in for good measure. It's not an all-out luxury hotel. It's more an experience hotel, and I had a great experience. IT's like going back in time to a by-gone period which a jarring and interesting juxtaposition from the hustle and bustle happening less than 100m on Sukhumvit. Choose this for a unique boutique experience in central Bangkok. The Island Lodge: "aradise on the Mekong Delta"
We were lucky enough to stay here for one night after booking the Les Rives 2 day Mekong Delta speedboat tour. After an awesome day, we had a 1-2hr speedboat ride and had a bit of a snooze.....we woke up just as we arrived at the lodge and wow, instantly it took our breath away. We were greeted personally by the check in staff, room manager and then Michel (one of the owners). This place is beautiful, not crowded, such a feeling a peace and tranquility. Every member of staff was exceptional. If we head back to Vietnam again.....we know where we will be staying :)Chakrabongse Villas: "Like your own private paradisr"
Lengthy layover of 36 hours and this place just provided a welcome break and a place to breathe. I stayed in Mali suite which was beautiful. Bed is very firm . Breakfast was awesome by the river and staff did their utmost to make my stay comfortable. Easy walking distance to flower market, Wat Po which is spectacular by night, and Grand palace . I took a tour with Pandan Tours on the khlongs which provided excellent insight into daily life in Bangkok. A+++Heritage Suites Hotel: "Best hotel of our trip"
Our guide told us there are 400 hotels in Siem Reap, well I am pleased we stayed at heritage suites. We enjoyed the pick up in the old car and the welcome drink and towels. I had booked the basic room as we did not expect to spend much time in the room and was delighted to to escorted to one of the garden suites. We voted it the best room we had of all the rooms on our trip. The service of the staff was excellent. Enjoyed happy hour and a light lunch by the pool. We booked our tour of Angkor wat through the hotel and it was well worth it our guide was excellent and managed to make the tour as individual as possible and I did not feel one of the masses and his knowledge of the temples and his insight into Cambodia was superb. A wonderful end to our trip around Vietnam and Cambodia my only regret was that we only had two nights .Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Our stay"
Worth every penny. Hands down the best food and best service you will have in Nepal. Situated on top of a big hill the lodge boasts views of the Pokhara valley and the imposing Himalaya in the backdrop. Pure luxury and class but never flashy.Muang La Lodge: "Traumhafte Lodge in wunderbarer Umgebung"
"Unfortunately, only two nights we spent in this oasis of peace and tranquility. Everything was perfect, the room, the cleanliness, the breakfast, the friendliness of the staff. A trip into the mountains by jeep turned into an adventure, since due to the heavy rain in the mud despite snow chains we !! stuck. A walk and a replacement vehicle then have "liberated" us after 3 hours. After that we could relax in the hot baths and then enjoy a delicious dinner. The best hotel on the whole trip! "Le Calao: "Great place and great wines selection"
Went for dinner; I was impressed with the wines selection they have on the list and the food is amazing; so clean and taste is very good. Surely will be back for the dinner and wineAmata Lanna: "Hidden jem"
"This is the second time we have stayed here and hopefully not the last. The owner and staff are amazing and very helpful. We stayed in the same room as before which overlooks the lovely little pool. Room is a good size with a large bathroom with both shower and large bath. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was always a delight with both Asian and western choices. I understand that the owners are having a second hotel built,if the same standards are kept up it can only be a great success."
