Beautiful boutique hotel on the bank of the Saigon river. Wonderful friendly helpful staff. A stunning oasis of peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the city yet the city is easily accessible via the hotels speedboat. Immaculate clean decor plus the breakfast was first class. Wouldn't hesitate to return.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Make reservations way in advance"
I was warned to make reservations in advance (which I did) as the restaurant is small. Boy was I glad. It is a wonderful set menu in an intimate restaurant where the chef actually comes to meet the diners. My 10 y/o daughter did not finish her last dish (but of course she had the dessert) and they charged us only for 5 dishes for her instead of the set 6 dish menu. So very nice of them. Each dish was well presented and was delicious. A must try when in Siem Reap.Inle Princess Resort: "Wonderful resort"
This place has simply gotten things right. The service is amazing - staff constantly surprised us with their foresight and attention to details we sometimes forgot eg offering bottled water for our bike ride, calling ahead re our flights, farewell gifts, organising and accompanying us on our trips out, closing our window shutters in the evening, offering blankets when it got cold dining outside. It goes without saying that the resort is beautiful with spectacular views of the lake and the furnishings and design are tasteful. Decent selection for breakfast with something new each day. Homemade yoghurt was delicious. Dinner and lunch menus were also different each day - food was all tasty but wholesome and clean. The rooms are huge and comfortable. Only regret is we should have booked a lake view room, well worth the extra dollars!VILLA SONG SAIGON: "Just Wonderful"
"We loved staying here. It is a beautiful oasis in the middle of a bustling city. They service was impeccable! They allowed us to check in early and check out VERY late which was so convenient for us. They have a wonderful scheduled boat that takes you to the center of Saigon in 15 minutes which was just so fun. The idea that you can have your free breakfast any time of the day is perfect! They scheduled a tour for us and we were picked up right on the hotel's dock. The pool was nice and quiet. "We stayed one week at Slow Private Pool villas and had the most amazing and relaxing time; just what we needed. The staff went out of there way to help us. Slow has the most helpful and accommodating staff. The Slow Spa is wonderful. Gili Air itself is already a perfect island getaway with a tranquil vibe and Slow Villas only enhances that feeling. "We weren't impressed by the food in Cambodia with the exception of this meal, which we would love to revisit again and again! Thankfully for the prices (high by cambodian standards but low by international standards) this would actually be feasible!) The food: - Was outstanding, with lots of attention to detail and fresh ingredients! - Everything we ate was unusual and interesting with tons of different components and very involved preparation. Each dish was unique in its own way and delicious! - They have a set menu but it doesn't feel limiting because you can choose between two meal options as well as a vegetarian menu - The cocktails were incredibly delicious and there was a huge variety to choose from! The service: - Was wonderful with very attentive staff who made sure that we were enjoying everything and understood what we were eating and drinking. Rachamanka, part of secret retreats, is a very special place in Chiang Mai. You are close to many attractions, but in the moment you 'll pass trough the door you are in a peaceful oasis. The whole hotel is decorated with antics and artworks of the regions. Everything is very tastful and well chosen. The staff is nice and obliging. The pool is a nice place to spend the hot time of the day. The library has many interessting books about Chiang Mai and the entire region and culture. breakfast is served in a cosy courtyard and there is also a small bar for a drink in the evening. We have not eaten in the hotel, so we cannot say anything about the food, breakfast was delicouse and offered a great choice.The Island Lodge: "The perfect oasis of calm and relaxation"
This hotel really is a gem, yes the rooms are lovely, the pool is delightful, and the setting overlooking the Mekong is second to none, but the real quality of the island lodge is in it's staff. The owner personally greets each guest, and the Vietnamese staff, from the manageress to the security guard were all friendly, and incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast is excellent and the lunch and dinner menu is varied. Prices are relatively high for Vietnam, but not for a hotel of this class. If I had one suggestion, it would be to add a snack or sandwich menu to the food options, there are no alternative restaurants nearby, and sometimes we wanted to just eat something light by the pool.Slow Villas and Spa: "Fantastic Slow"
