Villa Song Saigon: "Perfect Hotel for our Saigon Experience"

Review by: Caroline C | Source: Trip Advisor
"We loved this hotel from the moment we arrived and it really set the scene for our fantastic stay in Saigon. It is a really beautiful hotel in a peaceful, quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It sits on the Saigon river and offers a free speed-boat shuttle service up to District 1 and the main tourist areas. The staff were very friendly and efficient and always ready to help or answer any questions. Our room was tasteful and the beds were extremely comfortable, and the free complimentary mini bar was appreciated. It should be mentioned that there is no lift at this hotel so if you don’t want to climb stairs I suggest you request a ground floor room. The choice of breakfast from the a la carte menu was fabulous and could be taken at any time during the day which worked well for us. Even though we were a party of 4 the staff arranged the tables by the river so that we could all sit together. The fabulous swimming pool was very inviting and offered a beautiful haven to relax in the sunshine. I can highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again. "

David’s Kitchen: "Fabulous restaurant experience!"

Review by: Diana S | Source: Trip Advisor
"On a cold day in England I heard on the radio in London last year that a restaurant in Chiang Mai had made it to the top 10 list of best restaurants in the whole world. As we'd already made plans to visit Chiang Mai on our forthcoming holiday to Thailand it seemed a very good idea to visit Davids Kitchen. What we didn't know then but know now, is that David's Kitchen isn't just about fine dining but was a fabulous experience. From the minute we walked in to the beautiful new building we were made to feel really welcome. David came to talk to us and was a really charming man who we could have gossiped with for hours! Once seated at a table which already had our names on, the staff were very attentive and helpful, the maitre'd making suggestions and even arranging for us to share some of the set menu so we could both try the delicious pumpkin soup. The beef bourginion was out of this world as was all the food, wine and cocktails. We felt very much at home there even though we'd never been there before. David and his lovely wife Prom along with their amazing chef Mr O have ensured that their restaurant isn't just a 5* experience but is real class. We will definately be back!!"

Anopura: "A lovely escape"

My mother and I had one of the nicest stays of our trip to India here. The food is excellent. The staff are lovely and the location is peaceful. It was a nice break from the frenetic cities of Rajasthan. The accommodation is excellent. The decor is very tasteful. We regretted not being able to stay a second night. The staff are very well trained. They are helpful without being intrusive.

Maduzi Hotel: "Worth the experience at Maduzi"

Review by: christinachea | Source: Trip Advisor
"Everything here is excellent! Service is very good. Although some of the young staffs do not speak much English but the senior lady in charge, who speaks good English tries her very best to help with enquiries. Food was great, served in a lovely dining area with relaxing ambience. It's worthwhile to add breakfast into your booking as you are allowed to order 2 dishes + 1 juice + 1 hot beverage. Although it's not buffet style here, the menu is great with seriously delicious French, Thai and Japanese cuisines. I love best the 'Avocado in 4 ways' and the Japanese salmon dish! It's a fresh change from buffet style breakfast in most hotels where one gets many choices of food but nothing really spectacular. The bar near reception serves complimentary drinks and everything in the mini bar of the room is also complimentary with personal coffee machine. There is a fantastic work station plus a luxurious recliner chair too which are so convenient. Bed is really huge, with super comfy sheets and ample big and normal sized pillows. Room is huge, decor is lovely with spacious dressing area + walk in wardrobe area. Only setback for the bed was the comforter which is not big enough for the bed, but it's a negligible issue. The bathroom is creatively designed with infinity jacuzzi bathtub. It's great for most guests but what is lacking here is a good strong shower. It's rain shower here with weak 'splayed out' flow that is not adjustable, and one can almost stay dry standing at the centre. There is no shower head at the jacuzzi bathtub. I had to shower using the strong flow of water coming from the ceiling meant to fill up the jacuzzi tub. Hope this problem will be looked into by the management as taking a strong satisfying shower is vital for some guests! Overall this place is awesome, location is good and prices are reasonable! "

Babe: "Ludicrous name but delicious food"

Review by: Leonie T | Source: Trip Advisor
Visited here with colleagues to celebrate the end of a tough project. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the tasting menu - it was very sophisticated! The view is also something to behold as well. It was pricy, but it’s not everyday you get to eat such good quality food, while looking at Kuala Lumpur in the distance.

Hotel Tugu Bali: "Perfect place to make your dreams come true"

Review by: PassportDancingQueen | Source: Trip Advisor
"I walked into the Hotel upon seeing a sign for a cultural dance show. I inquired if the any of the dancers would teach private classes. Before I knew it Edward, the Director of Sales was designing a package of classes for me with Widia. She is one of their massage therapists, who has 40 years of Balinese dance experience and a degree in Balinese dancing. He even suggested that I could perform in their cultural performance as a guest with a beautiful Balinese dance costume and makeup. Edward was reading my mind! After creating my custom package I danced for a few weeks. The stage I took lessons on was in the very center of the lobby. I think I was quite a novelty to the staff. Who is this Western that had traveled to Bali to take extensive classes? They greeted me by name when I arrived every day. Edward informed me that was rare. Guests would visit and request the costumes and makeup, but never a package of dance classes. Various members of the staff, ranging from the hotel manager to restaurant staff would take the time to encourage me by telling me I was doing good. Widia was so patient and assured me I was not the worst student ever taught. The night of the performance the entire staff made me feel special. I'd performed many types of dance performances in the past, but it was entirely different. My dance was the first of the show. I was dancing with my teacher, Widia, and her friend, Tina. The dancer after me had won Best Dancer in Bali. Talk about creating a fantasy. Only in my dreams could I have imagined being the opening act for the country's best Balinese Dancer. Edward took lots of photos of me and Ari, one of the managers, acted as my videographer. The fact that so many of the upper-level employees of the hotel got involved in the granular details of my experience speaks volumes about their service. Even though I spent many, many hours in the hotel, I was not staying in one of the rooms. Most hotels would have treated me like chump change. In comparison to most hotel guests, I only paid a tiny fraction for my classes. No one ever treated me as I was any less than the person occupying the most luxurious suite. Afterwards, Ari gave my friend and me a tour of the honeymoon suite, which I had requested. What I thought would be a 5-minute glance turned into a very, very extensive history lesson. I learned more from Ari than any tour guide in Bali. My entire experience with the Hotel Tugu was beyond amazing. Their customer service is unparalleled. A testament to the importance they place on customer service is the fact they have a staff of over 120+ for just 22 rooms. You might not be as interested in taking dance classes, but if you have a unique request this is the best hotel in the world to create a fairytale experience. They would be perfect for creating that surprise proposal or anniversary celebration (their honeymoon suite has a private pool, a private gazebo that sits on a lily pond, and exquisite antiques). Can't say enough about this dream factory. They are the best!!!!"

Locavore: "Very nice!"

Review by: PaulinaBon | Source: Trip Advisor
"Very nice ambience and staff. The food is good (very different) but you expect this difference when you are going to a restaurant that specializes in local food that is not from your country. The only thing I didn't like about this place is that I told them about my ginger allergy before going and until we were there they told me that I could not have almost half of the menu that they prepared and only gave me the option to eat from the vegetarian menu. I told them that i really wanted something with fish and they tell me that they couldn't. Every restaurant that we've been in Asia had given me the option to make similar dishes to the ones in the menu and just without ginger or they even made different sauces and had them before we came in. Besides this, Locavore is a nice and different experience while visiting Ubud. The cocktails were great!"

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Well looked after"

Review by: helen c | Source: Trip Advisor
Stayed in April. Our lodge was comfortable, food excellent and the staff and owner very friendly. We were well looked after. Highlights included the resident birdlife and the possibility of seeing the leopard who roams the area. Best of all, was the sunrise casting a pink glow over Fishtail mountain and the others in the Annapurna range. This only happened one of the mornings we were there, nevertheless it was awesome.
