Samanea Beach Resort: "Highly recommended as excellent accommodation for Kep and Kampot"
Our stay was six nights in the junior suite overlooking the pool and the water. The grounds are wonderful, peaceful, secluded and private. The rooms are high quality although a few small maintenance issues could have made them excellent plus upgrade to delux bathroom towels. Outside shower and bath with privacy and nature. Onsite is Chankiri Restaurant providing exception meals and the best cocktails. For those travellers that value privacy, nature and quiet. Highly recommended.Satri House: "Quiet very stylish place with excellent breakfast under new competent management"
"The place is a ""total work of art"" - the traditional building- the impressive collection of precious regional artifacts . We felt very relaxed in a wonderful secluded and quiet atmosphere- yet with one of the hotels bicycles or also by feet very close to the center of Luang Prabang or Mekong river site. The personal was very friendly and helpful -they even followed our taxi as we had forgotten something when leaving. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Rachamankha: "Zen oasis in the old town: fine Asian antiques, great service, sublime food"
We stayed for six nights. What a treat. This hotel is a "Secret Retreat" property, one of three that we stayed at in Thailand and Laos. They are owner occupied properties, with amazing attention to decor and service. The architect and designer of this property live here and use the hotel as their home and office, and as a display space for their fine collection of Asian antiquities, a mix of Japanese, Chinese and Southeast Asian. Just walking in the gate caused a feeling of calm. I asked for a yoga mat, no problem, and found that the second floor balcony of the spa, situated over the swimming pool, was a perfect place for doing my yoga routine, with several Buddhas looking on. The setting, the pool, the room, the service, the food were all wonderful. Paul, the manager, sat with us to plan out our day to day itinerary, and all of his suggestions were spot on, for temples and outings, and especially his recommendation for a tailor, from whom we got five shirts and a sport coat. The location is ideal with Wat Prah Singh just around the corner (we called it "our" temple), making it easy to drop in for monk chats, or to hear the chanting at 5 PM. The hotel is within the walls of old Chiang Mai and very close to the Sunday walking market. There is a discount for persons staying 3 nights or longer, not something we realized, but were happily surprised when they gave it to us without our asking. Having modified our original reservation at the last minute, we were scheduled to move rooms over our 6 night stay, but the management spent some time juggling the room schedule, so that we could stay in the same room, which we very much appreciated. We were in Room 19, in one of the main courtyards, and these courtyard rooms are quite lovely. One assumes these were equally as nice. The whole hotel is quiet and quiet.Satri House: "Stunning Hotel"
"What a treat ! Such a beautiful ,charming boutique hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights . Everything about this hotel has attention to detail. Our room was so comfortable, could find no fault. We could walk everywhere we needed to go. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We were out for most of the days but we loved going back to our hotel. I would highly recommend to stay here . Treat yourself ."Manukan Island Resort: "Paradise island and resort"
"This was a great place to be. Everything was just perfect. The hospitality of the staff is great. They really want you to have a good time. At the restaurant you could also ask for things beside the menu and the cook would look what was possible. The guests of the resort have their own private beach and swinmingpool. You can use the towels of the resort so not necessary to bring your own. The resort is not too large and that is exactly what gives it a charm. We stayed 4 nights and everybody knew us. The room was perfect also. Looking out at the beach and with a large bathroom. At daytime the island has a lot of day visitors (depending on the day and season how many) but after 5 pm the island is deserted except for the residents of the resort. We did also the jungle track to the sunset point and that was allright and took aprox 50 minutes. And there are possibilities to snorkel and dive. "RACHAMANKHA: "Beautiful, elegant hotel with amazing, friendly staff"
"One of my best hotel experiences ever, and I travel a lot for work and pleasure. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff made sure that everything was perfect for us. This small hotel has a very unique, authentic feel to it. I believe it only has about 26 rooms, so it has a small, elegant character. After spending several weeks site-seeing around Thailand, this was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Some highlights were the pool, which was never crowded and the hallways and sitting area at night which had amazing incense burning. The professional pictures of the hotel don't do it justice "Rachamankha: "magical"
Wonderful hotel organised by the superb Secret-retreats - wow ....amazing service, phenomenal hotel and felt like royalty - cant wait to get back !! The pool , the food , the staff nothing went wrong and so helpful !Villa Song Saigon: "Top Boutique Hotel"
Our trip to Vietnam concluded with three nights at the Villa Song a delightful French Colonial Villa converted into a five star hotel situated next to the river. Everything about this hotel oozes class and the staff, food and accommodation were excellent. The hotel has its own motor launch which we took advantage of to visit the floating temple, a great experience and not to be missed, add to that the complementary shuttle service to the centre of Saigon, the free mini bar and breakfast availability at any time of the day and really I can't imagine there is a better place to stay if visiting SaigonGlenburn Tea Estate: "Dreamlike"
"Enchanting - beyond excellent. Wonderful staff and food; special thanks to George Ranjan and Luna. Only slight disappointment was that the mountains were obscured by mist for most of the time, unusually for November."Amata Lanna: "Hidden Gem!"
We have enjoyed our stay at Amata Lanna! Small amount of guests allows for a peaceful and relaxing experience. Hotel is clean and inviting! Rooms are impressive with old teak wood. Breakfast offers an al a carte menu and the eggs are delicious! Location is a short walk from the Night Market and about 15-20 minute walk to the Weekend Market. If you like to feel away from hustle and bustle, this is a good choice for you!
