David’s Kitchen: "TripAdvisor is correct"
"This is an awesome restaurant that has relocated to a beautiful facility near the old city. (50 baht Uber ride). A most enjoyable evening, one I wish we hadn’t missed during our visits to CM over the past 7 years. We will not make this mistake next year. Thank You David for a superb dining experience."Satri House: "Quiet very stylish place with excellent breakfast under new competent management"
"The place is a ""total work of art"" - the traditional building- the impressive collection of precious regional artifacts . We felt very relaxed in a wonderful secluded and quiet atmosphere- yet with one of the hotels bicycles or also by feet very close to the center of Luang Prabang or Mekong river site. The personal was very friendly and helpful -they even followed our taxi as we had forgotten something when leaving. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Glenburn Tea Estate: "Quintessential plantation experience through the ages"
"Nestled in a beautiful forested valley, surrounded by tea gardens and overlooking the river Rung Dung this is and idyllic location with views of Darjeeling, Sikkim and the Himalayas. Accommodation in large suites within tea plantation managers bungalow - all wonderfully decorated and furnished in mid 20th century style and with spectacular views. Meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner) are all included. A rotating menu of different cuisines (including traditional Raj period meals, Bengali, Nepalese, Bhutanese and international, etc. are served. All offering multiple course, veg and non-veg options and all cooked to perfection offering exquisite tastes - some of the best food I've tasted anywhere. Plenty to do too - the tours of the tea gardens and factory (including tasting if the various teas the estate produces) taken by the manager or one of his assistants - teaches even the most experienced tea connoisseur everything they could ever wish to know about the propagation of tea, it's harvesting and transformation (different techniques) to produce white teas, first/second flush, monsoon, autumn, oolong and green teas; as well as the history of tea growing and the estate. There's also a wonderful lodge/camp on the river (about a 2 hour walk from the main bungalow); trips to Ghum, Darjeeling and Kalimpong. The entry/exit roads are rough as you drop into the valley from the main road - and it's about 2 1/2 - 3 hours transfer from the nearest airport or station - but well worth it Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"MesaStila: "Have made plans to come back"
"We were impressed by the resort from the moment we arrived - and it only got better. The service level of the staff was exceptional, without being intrusive. Mbak Lily was very helpful during our stay, and everyone else we met there was equally hospitable. We enjoyed our room with the view of the Mt. Andong - breathtaking view to wake up to. Room was spacious and comfortable, furnished with antique Javanese pieces. Just beautiful. Food was excellent - wine collection can be improved though. We enjoyed the Coffee Plantation Walk and the Yoga class, and would like to try the Mountain Trekking on our next visit. One of the many highlights of our stay was the Hammam Spa, which is definitely not to be missed!"Maison Polanka: "So good that spoiled me for the rest of my trip!"
"I don't recall when or where I first read about Maison Polanka, but I was sure that whenever I would make the dream trip to Siem Reap this is where I would be staying. I requested my agent specifically to select this hotel, and it was well beyond my expectations. I remember reading one review here on TA in which the traveller mentioned that you could tell the quality of service from the cold towel a hotel will give you upon arrival. Well, let me just start by saying that not only that is true, but that here they would rush to me every single time I arrived with a refreshing towel and a glass of water! Nothing was too much for Cathy, Frances and team. Want to see the circus? (by all means yes, go to Phare!), we'll book you a good seat and the tuk tuk driver. Going to town? please have this phone and call us if you need any assistance. Restaurant, tour bookings? we'll do it for you. Resting by the pool after a day of sightseeing in the sorting sun and don't want the complimentary tea? at least have some of the delicious banana bread. The list goes on and on. Service makes this place and I wish I remembered all names to thank them all. Lastly, mr Vong, always smiling, the best tuk tuk driver in town! The hotel itself was pure understated elegance, a beautiful restored khmer houses. I stayed in 2 rooms during my stay: the orange, which though smallest was perfect for me. And the yellow, a bit bigger and with a beautiful bathroom. Both perfectly air conditioned, comfortable bed, restocked water bottle, and thankfully no TV. The surrounding gardens were beautiful, the pool was great, and the restaurant served great breakfasts (a different tropical fruit each day, great coffee), and also dinners (the best curry chicken of my trip). I was very happy here for 4 nights. I loved the Angkor area and would love to come back. I would not stay anywhere else but here."Villa Song Saigon: "Just perfect"
"Villa song is a little gem of a boutique hotel by the Saigon river away from busy HCMC, which can be reached by free shuttle in under 25 min. It has a pool which is a godsend after a hot day in town. The room was lovely spacious and well appointed from the Nespresso machine, kettle, free mini bar, apple tv remote if you wish to download some stuff... i could go on and on. (...) The personnel was very attentive eager to help always with a smile and well organized, which is a credit to the management team. This was the most perfect way to end our tour of Vietnam, we left on a high note though wishing we had stayed longer. I don't think you will find anything better that this hidden gem"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Best lodge in Pokhara… if not the whole of Nepal"
Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge was by far the best place we stayed in our month long trip to Nepal. Marcus was a fantastic host, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay the best ever. The lodge itself is beautiful and the view will definitely make you want to outstay your visit!Supanniga Luxury Bangkok River Cruises: "One of our best highlights of our Bangkok trip"
I'm not usually a cruise fan but one of our Thai friends highly recommended this dinner cruise so we took her word for it and man it was beautiful! The only let down was that it raining and it went dark pretty quickly. Despite that we were very well sheltered from the rain on the cruise and could see the famous Wat Arun and The Grand Palace (just to name a few) as there were lights illuminating the buildings. You can expect the meals to be of fine dining level and authentic (it was as memorable as our fine dining at Issaya Siamese Club). Staff were attentive throughout and the crowd were decent. I'd highly recommend this to anyone visiting Bangkok.Sandat Glamping Tents: "Really liked it but needs a little improvement"
"We were there on our honeymoon, i loved the pool and how quite it can be. The only downfall was that everything can be heard. The resort consists of 5 tents and 3 tree houses/ huts. We could hear the breakfast buffet being prepared, our neighbors talking so we couldn't enjoy our time together as much as we would have liked because everything and everyone is so close to each other. I like my private life kept private, not for everyone to hear just because ""ill never see them again or don't know them"". I did like that they offer a complimentary shuttle service into town, you should order it at least 30 min before. As for the tents they are nice and cozy but our tent was full of ants for some reason, and when we showered the drain was semi clogged so just after 2 minutes the water would over flow and get all over. The fans would make the room cool enough at night but during the day we preferred staying in the pool or going into town, AC's are optional for an extra charge. The pool was beautiful overlooking the trees and listening to the nearby birds and nature which was nice and relaxing. The breakfast was nice and simple. I loved the freshly made jams and juices and the staff was always kind, helpful and had a smile on their faces. We didn't take a yoga lesson but i would recommend it or even if you know yoga to try out the yoga deck by the reception cause its beautiful all in its own. I would recommend that they invest in either training or obtaining an actual bar tender as the staff isn't equipped to make cocktails. Overall, it was a good experience, it just needs a few tweaks here and there."Villa Song Saigon: "The Gem on the riverside"
"I can just agree with other reviewers, this place is lovely ....a quiet haven after hours in the city of HCMC with noise, traffic, and stress. Just relax in the shade by the pool with a nice book,or have a drink by the riverside watching the boats passing. Very confy bed and pillows.Lovely breakfast and lunch. The staff very helpful sorting out some issues with my airline for the returnflight. I have already reserved my next stay at Villa Song. See you in november.Thank you. "
