Mathis Retreat: "Een prachtige plaats met fantastische service"
What enjoy, good rooms, nice view over the rice fields, excellent service, small, beautiful pool and excellent restaurant. The Belgian manageresse was very helpful, the shuttle service to the city center, 10-15 minutes, very convenient.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Great food at such a good price"
This is very high quality food and a little different. We had the 2 different tasting menus between us, so we tried a lot of dishes- most of them were winners. It relatively so affordable compared with fine dining in major world cities as well, which is such a pleasant change.Dewakan: "Great experience!"
"Just checked their website and they seemed to have changed their menu! Seems like what I had was a mixture of their old menu and the new one. Snacks (Choy Sum Nori, Beef Tendons, Mango Curry, Yoghurt and Roselle): Choy Sum Nori was quite cool and memorable! The others were ... interesting? Could be too weird for some. Starters (Blue Mackerel, Roast Mushrooms, Grilled Vegetables, Home Made Noodles): Quite liked the roast mushrooms. Was told to eat from right to left, but perhaps plating it from left to right would be make more sense since most people hold their forks on the left and knives on the right? Just a suggestion! The noodles weren't that great, however. Mains (Pike Conger, Duck, Quail): The highlight of the night! I really loved each of the 3 main dishes, but sadly two of them don't seem to be on the new menu anymore. Probably one of the most memorable dishes I've had. Desserts (Mulberries, Gula Melaka, Chocolate Tart, Popsicles): The 3 desserts from the menu were great. At the end they gave us 3 additional popsicles even though we were absolutely stuffed by then. Really didn't like the weird popsicle flavours, but to each their own perhaps? Can't imagine it would be popular since none of us liked the popsicles. Service was great, however some were a little too soft-spoken when it came to explaining the dishes. Not sure if having descriptions left on the table would be too tacky but I would love to have something to refer to while eating."Tugu Malang: "Fantastic experience"
"Loved basically everything about this hotel. The room was luxurious. Bed was big and soft, the bathtub was large enough, the room itself was the right size, and everything on that end was great. Amenities were also wonderful. There was a tasty fruit basket in my room when I arrived, there was a complimentary tea service which was extraordinary, live music (a local band) played in the evening and was excellent to listen to, and more. My favorite amenity was the tour of the hotel's extensive artifact collection; it was fascinating to see all the different sculptures, paintings, and architectural details. The food was good. I particularly enjoyed the grilled satay (both chicken and lamb) and the extensive breakfast spreads. The complimentary pastries upon checking out were also great. The grounds themselves, including the pool, were very nice. My only complaint was flaky and slow wifi. But otherwise, my stay was absolutely perfect. Would definitely stay again. Stayed March 2017, traveled solo"Flower Island: "Perfect away from it all"
From the journey to the Island and everything during our stay to the time we had to leave was simply amazing. The fantastic approach by boat, the welcome, the staff, the food, the serenity, the views, snorkelling, canoeing, the beach, the bar, the rooms and the dog. We absolutely loved the whole experience. No TV, WiFi, unless at the reception, traffic, hustle and bustle. A most perfect few days of sheer basic bliss in simple true rustic charm. Total chill out. We will be back, for longer next time!KHWAN BEACH RESORT: "Real gem"
"We have stayed for 4 nights at khwan beach resort and every moment of the stay was remarkable! Extremely helpful staff, accomodating every request, private pool and great interior with attention to every detail. There is nothing that we could have expected better. The staff provides service to and from the AirPort. As French / English speakers from Lausanne we also felt a touch of home and had no communication problems as the owner is From France . Would highly recommend to any one traveling to kosamui: whether a family , couple or friends. Tip: try the Mathis restaurant or delivery . The kitchen is French fusion and the chef makes amazing fondant au chocolat. For those preferring local menu, there is a great choice Thai food equally as great "Rachamankha: "YES! YES! YES! Totally awesome property"
I wanted to stay at Tamarind but I could not get the same room for 4 nights, and I am so glad I chose this instead. This hotel is wonderful. A glorious architectural wonder in a quiet Chiang Mai old quarter spot. The rooms-and ours was a standard- are wonderful. I wished I could have seen the upgraded rooms, but if a standard was this great, who needs an upgrade? The only small negative I had overall is that the shower tiles are a bit dated...could use a re-do...other than than that, all was amazing. Awesome staff, beautiful, sumptous breakfast, gorgeous rooms and amenities, lovely pool area. Easy walk to anything and everything. Wonderfully helpful staff with activities and transportation. 5 star all the way.NEELESHWAR: "Superb"
"What a wonderful place. We are not easily impressed as we have been working in the travel industry for years so have stayed in some of the top hotels of the world but Neeleshwar is exceptional. We stayed 6 nights and left regrettably so happy and relaxed. Everything was perfection!! "Reverie Siam: "Happy return to this oasis in the northern hills"
This is my second visit to the Reverie Siam, and I loved it just as much. Delightfully, this time I felt no obligation to go and do any tours, and so I lazed my days away at the hotel, which it is certainly designed to support. There are two pools, a traditional rectangular one and a more family friendly organic shaped one, which some of the rooms can step straight out into. The buildings and grounds are all charming, a successful mix of Mediterranean planting and colonial "Indochine" architectural style. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and elegant. And the riverside pavilion is unbelievably peaceful (and barely used!). The breakfasts are included in the room price, and very generous (I learnt from last time not to have all the courses offered!) The bar itself is pretty well stocked, has a surprisingly good selection of spirits and wine. And the food is Mediterranean inspired (which I have to confess would be my one wish: if they also had some delicious Thai options on the menu, to me it would be perfect!). They offer free shuttles into town, but if only takes 15 minutes to walk in. The quiet little hamlet the hotel is attached to, just outside Pai, seems to be developing as a more independent hub - there are a few decent cafes, though bafflingly they all shut firmly by 6pm. (Why?!) However, there are worrying signs of development all around, and a large new ugly market building, hope they're not going to build too much round here. Note: once in the hotel, you can't see or hear any of this, it's all at a slight remove. Overall I loved my trip, you won't regret booking here. Want to give a shout out to Tida Massage on one of Pak's main streets (a few doors down from Charlie & Lek restaurant), it's not listed on TripAdvisor and I can't add it. Run by two lovely ladies (and their cheeky cat), really great massage - and I have easy access to good/cheap massage living in China, so am not easily won over. I happened to try them out on my first day, and went back every day, sometimes twice. It's a very simple place, not fancy spa. But Miss Oi (excuse spelling) is a magician and has an infectious laugh. One hour/200baht, a bargain!Villa Mathis: "what a great stay"
"A romantic gataway with an amazing service and an amazing manager. We felt taken care every moment of our stay. Villas are very state full designed. With so many small corners, lounges, pools and cabanas we never felt in a hotel, more like a private Home. liked it a lot and just 10 min from the Buzz. great work guys keep it up."
