Rachamankha: "Breathtaking Buildings and Grounds"
"The Rachamankha Hotel is the most beautifully designed hotel at which we have ever stayed - an architecture and design lover’s dream. People are literally taken aback when they drive through the gates and see the front entranceway with a huge fabric panel flapping in the wind. We stayed in a ground floor room with incredibly high ceilings, a huge bathroom, and big, stylish dark wooden furniture and doors. Rachamanhka has all your modern amenities but each detail is tied beautifully together by its historic Chinese and Thai aesthetic. In the courtyard just outside our room, the welcoming seating area as well as the plants, paths and pieces of art, worked together to make us feel calm and relaxed. This is the only time we’ve ever stayed in and ordered drinks just to hang out in a hotel’s courtyard! The pool was beautiful and perfect for cooling off after a long day in the sun. Or you can just lay in the poolside chairs and have a drink with a book in hand. It’s easy to walk to many things, or just grab a tuk-tuk for a quick ride. Highly recommend staying here if you want a relaxing, luxurious time in Chiang Mai. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Villa Song Saigon: "Height of luxury"
"We treated ourselves to a stay here on the last night of our holiday. It isn't cheap but does offer an exceptional experience. Just taking the speed boat into town makes it worth it! They organized a great tour to the tunnels for us and we enjoyed sitting in the peaceful gardens by the river drinking cocktails. The room is a luxurious boutique standard. The pool is a great size and lovely temperature. The only thing that could be improved is that the attitude of some of the reception staff was a bit snooty, it could be more universally warm and welcoming. Everybody was polite though and it felt very special to stay here."Manda De Laos: "Best duck I’ve ever eaten"
"We got here around half 6 without booking and managed to get a table for 2. We ordered a cocktail and ice tea which were both delicious. For food we had the Laap balls to start, which were 6 meatballs with a dipping sauce, very good and just the right size to share as a starter. For main we had the tamarind duck and the buffalo steak with one serve of crunchy coconut rice. The meats were cooked to perfection. The buffalo was the requested medium rare and the duck just slightly pink and very tender with crispy skin. Even the rice was delicious, it came as a good size portion, enough to share between 2 with the generous servings of meat. Although the most expensive food we have had in luang prabang it was by far the best meal so definitely worth the little bit extra!"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Blissful stay"
"This is a straight five star stay with lovely accommodation in scattered lodges around the grounds, bird watching and treks available, and a wonderful veranda to sit and look at the Himalayas (if they are clear of mist....) We had mosquito nets (not actually needed) over our beds and hot water bottles can be requested! The food and hospitality are excellent. The staff are permanently on their toes. We loved our little lodge so much we could have just sat in there all day listening to and watching the birds. A local lady came and did a Reiki massage in the room. Bliss Stayed April 2017, traveled with friends"Satri House: "Excellent, charming, classy"
Satri House is a tranquil, beautiful boutique hotel that oozes the charm of a property with a place in history - it has texture and character in a way that many other luxury hotel chain offerings at several times the price tag don't get close to. The staff are very friendly and the food had some real hits, as well. It is the rare breed that hits a sweet spot between price and feel, and so comes highly recommended from this humble traveler. (Protip - go across the street out back and eat at Manda de Laos, a fantastic new restaurant no one seems to know about)The Hue House: "Good choice, reasonable price"
"We didn't know what to expect - having been recommended by a friend who recently moved to HCM City to work as a teacher but we were very pleasantly surprised! The menu was in both languages and also had photos also! The employees had been extremely patient and useful and also showed us how you can come several of the meals into the Vietnamese like rolls! The portions were huge and also the food was tastey. We experimented with 3 various dishes and also had 2 drinks as well as the cost was extremely reasonable. if you're searching for a geniun Hue cuisine with good price and nice view, this's the very best option."Supanniga Eating Room: "Authentic Thai Traditional recipes"
"Supanniga has beautifully surprised me and my wife with very traditional Thai recipes cooked to perfection in the authentic Thai style. They are far from toning the taste to foreigners. That is why I love it. Thai food is not only spicy. I recommend the crispy mushrooms and leaves with passion fruit sauce. The pork curry is very yummy, very balanced taste, spicy. Pur Ear Tea chilled is a very nice drink for summer."Tugu Lombok: "Paradiso"
This place stunned me. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The staff was great and very helpful. Every single thing I ate at the resort was a total culinary pleasure. Breakfast on the beach, candlelit dinner on the rooftop, fresh juice by the pool. We went in the down season and it meant that we felt basically alone. Our room and private pool were so enchanting and the recovered and traditional artwork all over the resort really makes this place something special. Probably one of my favourite places I've ever stayed if you just want to escape. There is also a number of interesting things to do around the resort like visiting the Gili Islands or the volcano. A++Supanniga Cruise: "Wonderful romantic dinner cruise"
The Supanniga cruise is not like the other cruises on the river. It’s not a party / karaoke boat! It’s quiet, relaxing and romantic and the food is excellent. The food is cooked on the boat - there is no buffet thank goodness! It’s very comfortable with only a small number of tables. The champagne dinner cruise is really worth the money. You can sip your freshly made cocktail and cringe when the noisy party boats go past! The staff are excellent too. They know the best photo spots and will happily take your picture! Highly recommended!Talabgaon: "Treated like royalty in a royal palace"
"The first thing to say about reviewing Talabgaon Castle is that in order to differentiate these 5 stars from any earlier 5 star reviews, I should probably go back to the others and knock them down to 4 stars ... its just that good. The setting, the staff, the food, the amenities, the service ... all were top notch. We (as a couple) spent two nights here in January 2016. The staff were awaiting our arrival, and cool drinks and towels provided after the couple of hours drive from Agra (it is closer to Jaipur but we were going the other direction). Our bags were taken swiftly to our opulent room on the ground floor, and soon we were eating our first meal. This being the 6th day of our first trip to India, staying generally in upper market accommodation, we have become accustomed to good Indian food - but this took it to the next level. Flavours literally bursting. (...) For our final morning, the hotel staff set our breakfast table out in the courtyard of the gardens. In a nutshell - if you're able to stop over here ... even if its a little out of the way ... then do so. You will I am sure be as surprised, impressed and amazed as we were."
