Mathis Retreat: "THIS IS IT!"

Review by: EwBarr | Source: Trip Advisor
"No doubt you will have looked at about 20-30 hotels in Ubud on TripAdvisor and be completely exasperated by the process. Fear not! Your searching HAS COME TO AN END! This is the one! Where to begin. Located just on the outskirts of Ubud, it overlooks pristine rice fields with no other hotels in sight. From the front reception where you are greeted with a welcome drink and refreshment to the high quality rooms and the blissful infinity pool, there is little more you could ask for. Family rooms exist, and the presence of a few children around this small hotel does not distract from the relaxation. The restaurant on site is relaxing and has a high quality food menu that does not break the bank! (Very reasonable actually) The best bits - free to and from shuttle into Ubud centre every hour, tours available via booking at reception (including airport transfers) The 'could be improved' bits - very little, although the internet was a little slow... if you are dependent on this I suggest you need to rethink the meaning of holiday! ;o)"

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Wonderful beach haven"

Review by: scotland101 | Source: Trip Advisor
Returned after visiting last year.Every bit as good if not better. The location on the beach is idyllic. The rooms in bungalows are outstanding. The staff go out of their way to look after you. The food is delicious. We went on 2 excursions- the hotel house boat and a local village tour- both excellent. The pool is lovely .We intend to return!

Locavore: "good food and great service"

Review by: kalena_jehan09 | Source: Trip Advisor
We had an incredible experience at this restaurant. The food was flawless, but we were truly impressed with the ease, welcoming, and fluidity of the staff. They thought of everything. From greeting us as we walked in. It is clear that they are as passionate about the guests' experience as much as the food they're creating. Do yourself a favour and go visit. Enjoy the grandeur, you will not be disappointed.

Satri House: "Quiet very stylish place with excellent breakfast under new competent management"

Review by: mjwitter | Source: Trip Advisor
"The place is a ""total work of art"" - the traditional building- the impressive collection of precious regional artifacts . We felt very relaxed in a wonderful secluded and quiet atmosphere- yet with one of the hotels bicycles or also by feet very close to the center of Luang Prabang or Mekong river site. The personal was very friendly and helpful -they even followed our taxi as we had forgotten something when leaving. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"

VILLA SONG SAIGON: "Wonderful! Keep Up The Great Work"

Review by: le_mans_stig | Source: tripadvison.com
"Stunning boutique property in district 2 of the city yet feels and looks like you are far more rural. We stayed here twice and were given a very warm and typical Vietnamese welcome each time. Service was impeccable and attentive without being intrusive. All seemed to have a very genuine interest in how we were and what we had done each day. Great sized lovely pool for the number of guests accommodated, chilled to exactly the right temperature! To the rear of the hotel is a beautiful garden, bar and indoor/outdoor restaurant overlooking the river and across to the fields. Chilled music adds to the very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out by the river with a drink (or two) each evening! An excellent menu and wine list provide great choice and all of the food was beautifully presented and absolutely superb. The hotels speed boat provides a courtesy shuttle service between the hotel and centre of the city in just 15 minutes, far quicker than going by road! Exceptional service from a clearly dedicated, highly trained and competent team. Nothing is too much trouble. We hope to return soon... "

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Quirky, fun place to stay"

Review by: ian B | Source: Trip Advisor
"Spent 3 nights at Four Rivers in early May. We really felt that we were embarking on something special when we were collected by boat for our transfer to the Lodge and we were not disappointed. The accommodation, in tents is wonderful, it is spacious and well furnished. The bathroom is large with an amazing wooden shower tub! Fans attempt to keep the tents cool and were reasonably effective considering how hot it was. The staff were without fail friendly, courteous and kind. Nothing was too much, my wife happened to mention to the restaurant manager that she would like to try a Cambodian speciality that was not on the menu. An hour later the meal had been cooked for her and was superb. That seemed to be the way the Lodge worked, it was a case of just ask and well do our best to provide. There is a local guy, born on the island opposite the Lodge, who is the tour guide. He deserves a special mention as he provided a real touch of magic to our stay. We went on an early morning hike, a river trip to a fishing village where we also kayaked through the mangroves and a boat trip to see fireflies. He is so knowledgable and great fun to be with but so caring and polite. This is a great place to stay and well worth the 4 hour journey from Phnom Penh."

Villa Song Saigon: "Hotel de charme"

Review by: Fabienne V | Source: Trip Advisor
Situated in a very quiet area in HCMC (District 2), the Villa Song is a magnificent colonial style hotel. The view to the river is just an enchantment for the eyes. The services provided in the spa are really excellent. If you can't afford to stay at the hotel, just go and have a drink or a lunch, it's a nice experience!

Inle Princess Resort: "beautiful resort"

Review by: alann6 | Source: Trip Advisor
A really magical relaxing place. The arrival by boat is a real treat. Be warned : its COLD!. esp in the morning and evening (ask for a blanket!) . Beautiful dining room and bar. Rooms are spacious , if a bit gloomy. But we hardly spent any time there anyway. Way to cold to use the outdoor shower , and oddly no shower over the bath. Do ask the staff to light the fire in the room : amazing briquettes give out fantastic cozy heat. 200 range rooms are quite a way from the lodge , and never get the sun on the balcony/verandah.

The Village House: "Perfect hideaway with great food!"

Review by: Jagger666 | Source: Trip Advisor
Wanted to stay there for two nights only, but after the first night we immediately booked three more nights. So lovely, so great. Really recommended if you are looking for a quiet and relaxed place. Not the cheapest, but well worth the money! VERY friendly staff and excellent food (dinner must be ordered in the afternoon). Nice pool as well and free bikes to explore the neighborhood. Would and will stay there again, if I have the chance to.
