Sandat Glamping Tents: "Incredible"
I can't recommend Sandat Glamping enough. The atmosphere was relaxing, the hotel was gorgeous, and the service was unparalleled. Absolutely perfect place to stay in Ubud. The hotel staff was very accommodating when helping us plan day-trips and transportation, which was an added bonus.Cuca: "Wow"
"This restaurant is one of the best places we have visited. The food is fresh, rustic, with deep bold flavour combinations. What we were confused about and can't believe it's not further on top of other review lists (TA, worlds50 best etc). We came to the conclusion the reason is maybe because it has hearty traditional flavours without too much of an emphasis pushing the menu on a tangent path in less familiar territory creating crazy new boundary-pushing new ideas. I think this is a positive as too many chefs nowadays try to attack and prove to the world how good they are by relying on novelties to make their food stand out. This menu knows what's it does best.Flavours. Don't get me wrong there are still elements of molecular gastronomy but done in an elegant way without compromising on the most important aspect of flavour and texture combinations. Add in that the service that is one of the highest standards that we have seen, attentive yet discreet. The space and how they manage to capture that same balance with the front of house is extraordinary as it blends a buzzing atmosphere with an intamate dining experience at the same moment is a masterstroke of genius. The only downside was that the cocktails didn't measure up to the tall order of the menu. They were tasty but could be better. Everyone at this establishment made our dinner unforgettable for all the right reasons. It is impossible to put into words these tastes and textures and surprising magic moments in a review, all I can say is we smile and laugh about our short time there. It's priceless. Thank you, Cuca!"Chakrabongse Villas: "Chakrabongse Villa – Royalty @ the Chao Phraya River"
"I was there for the 4th. tme in several years and it get's even better ! Chakrabongse Villa lies in my favourite part of the old city. Situated on the Rattanakosin Island @ walking distance from the pulsing food and flower market of BKK - Phak Klong Talad. Chakrabongse Villa is a very distinguished and stylised Boutique hotel and restaurant almost opposite the famous Wat Arun. The setting is gorgeous, the food is Thai and of course a little bit farang-style, but over all. To have dinner here with your friends or family is a real experience. The staff is very friendly, The wine-list could be bigger and at the end you just have to try it to to ad another experience to your life."Satri House: "Lovely, lovely hotel"
We really enjoyed our stay here. Really friendly staff, from the GM downwards. They couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Stunning property, and well placed for exploring Luang Prabang, which is easily the nicest place we visited in Laos. We can't recommend this hotel too highly - it's a great stay.Samanea Beach Resort: "Perfect for a relaxing getaway"
"We stayed at Samanea for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The resort is spacious, with a large swimming pool and a private beach. The villas are quite big, with a private patio and an outdoor shower and bath, which I really liked. The restaurant was good, we had daily breakfast and a few times lunch and dinner during our stay. I would say that Samanea is ideally located for a relaxing getaway, it's not in the center of town, but privately located at the edge of Kep. Still within walking distance to the crab market and to the Kep National Park, or alternatively the hotel can call a tuk tuk for your convenience. We'll be back!"Rachamankha: "Wonderful architecture and good service"
Been there only for dinner as tried to book but room were full. Excellent service in the restaurant. Staff were very attentive but some need to learn more product knowledge. I really like the Thai Chinese mixed with contemporary northern interior design as I already fall in love with this place and promised to visit once again as a hotel guest.Glenburn Tea Estate: "Absolutely Fabulous"
"After travelling around for a few days it was wonderful to arrive at Glenburn to a very warm welcome from Faye, Will and Alex. The bumpy drive down adds to the excitement of your arrival at this beautiful working tea estate. Our room, Planters, was colonial luxury with a huge comfortable bed and a little sitting room off the back with stunning views of kanchenchunga when the clouds lifted. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the group guest dinners were great fun and a chance to make new friends and meet interesting people, although you can dine in private if you wish to do so. Breakfast was also delicious as was the tea and cake served in the afternoons. Snacks are available throughout the day but as the meals are so generous we could not have eaten another thing. A free laundry service was very welcome after our travels and it was great to continue on our trip with clean clothes and after a relaxing massage in the spa. A walk around the plantation is a must as it is not only scenic but informative. We were disapointed not to visit the local school supported by Glenburn but it was holidays for them so maybe next time as I would love to stay at Glenburn again. Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful."Sea Dance Resort: "Amazing and personalized service, and beautiful resort! Home away from home."
"From the start to the end, they helped us devise up a great schedule for the days we were present. We were visiting with young children and elderly parents. We had already done our research on the things we wanted to see but they suggested even more and put it altogether to make our stay unforgettable. Service: This is not one of the huge hotels where you get robotic service. All the staff know you, remember your names and what you like! A special Thanks to Faith for organizing and following up with all our needs and wants during our stay. It was wonderful to meet the kind and talented (guitar player) Poy who made our stay heavenly. Location: the hotel is located in a quiet area of the town and not on the busy streets. You can get to busy streets from where they are located though on foot or by using one of the pick up taxis'. Rooms: we loved the rustic feel of the rooms and the fact that we had our own small pool where the kids could swim and play whenever they wanted. The rooms were clean and spacious. They provide bathrobes and flip flops to walk around and welcome food. Water is provided everyday. They also provide a kind of electric zapper looking like a tennis racket (which we had never seen before) and this soon became my husband's new pass time... Amenities: we went snorkeling with the kids and although it can be hard at first to wade into the water with the rocks, they provide the perfect refuge to admire all the colorful fish in their habitat. The hotel has a couple of kayaks and provided life jackets and even crocs. Food: DELICIOUS! Definitely recommend the Thai cooking class. Not only was it so instructive for my kids and fun, but the result was absolutely delicious. The cooks/chefs were the sweetest with my children and we were able to adapt the spices to our liking. We discovered new fruits and the kids loved chopping the fruit and mixing it all in! The highlight of my trip! All in all: Definitely recommend if you want a quiet trip with elderly family or young children as they cater for all. You can get the excitement needed with all the activities onsite or in town which they organize. Tip on Koh Samui: On a Friday night visit the Fisherman's market. When doing activities around Koh Samui, I suggest to put on insect repellent as we did get bitten quite a bit and we had put on repellent and wore long pants! Not in the hotel but when we were out doing excursions whether it be at the fish market, the elephant safari...etc."Villa Song Saigon: "Compact Asian Luxury.. Absolutely fantastic hotel"
"We booked the same day we were to arrive given our initial hesitation to have Vietnam as destination for our long weekend escapade. We were amazed at the efficiency by which we were accommodated. The suites were booked for the night but a smaller room was instead alloted for us. It was topnotch from the pristine furnitures and fixtures to the vibrant yet impressively balanced art works. The following day we were transferred to the freed up art villa suite with an astonishing den overlooking the saigon river. The breakfast was eat all you can ala carte and the boutique hotel again exceeded our expectations. Personally this is where we had our best ever coffee experience and you can feel there was passion behind the creation of the food they serve. The hotel helped us book with the river sunset cruise. With the weather getting in the way of seeing the sunset, our guide ""Luke"" took us instead to the floating Pagoda and to a coconut drop off point where we had fresh young coconut juice that tastes even more heavenly than the ones we have in our very own beloved Philippines. This was the highlight of the vietnamese cultural education aspect of our trip having been immersed with our superbly fluent local guide who's versed with of course the country's current issues and its vibrant history. The attentive hot staff were promptly alert and each was attentively catering to our every tiny need. If you're after a compact yet very privately intimate vietnamese atmosphere fused with a strong french structural vibe, then you'd certainly feel like you struck gold with Villa Song. It heartfully made our vietnam trip an unforgettable success."
