Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Highly Recommended"
The resort is located in local village just about 10 mins drive to the famous Bamboo train and downtown. Lush tropical garden with big beautiful lotus pond and the traditional wooden houses made a perfect combination that create a sense of peace and relaxation. The room is very clean, cozy and comfortable. Free high speed WIFI in room and public area. Highly recommended for couple, family and individuals looking for good resort, privacy and cultural experience in Battambong. Will sure to stay there again if we returTugu Bali: "Luxury By The Beach In The Heart of Canggu"
"The history of Hotel Tugu is a great story! Some time ago a poor student took a trip with a professor to Canggu and at sunset met with a stranger who gave the professor a Cupu Manik, a 16th century stone bowl of three parts from which was used by a priest to sprinkle holy healing water over sick villagers. The Cupu Manik was of priceless cultural value and inspired the students deep and lasting love of Indonesian antiquities and history. Several years later, the poor student had become a professional antiquarian and continued to search for the Cupu Manik to own for himself. Eventually he found the precious artefact which is now housed at Hotel Tugu. The student is the founder of Tugu Hotels, Exotic Spas and Restaurants, and these hotels now house his large collection of Indonesian art and antiques. A trip to Hotel Tugu is truly a step back in time! THE ROOMS There are 22 rooms, 19 of which are suites, 2 one bedroom villas and 1 two bedroom villas. The suites are large, with a living area, bedroom, separate shower room and the best bit, the bathtub which has a huge room all for itself looking out to the gardens and the ocean! If you treating yourself or this is a special occasion you may want to opt for the luxurious Puri Le Mayeur villa, a spacious single story villa overlooking the stunning lotus pond. The villa celebrates the eternal love between the famous Belgian artist, Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merprès and Ni Polok, his muse and his wife. The second incredible villa option is the Walter Spies Pavilion, designed with the art deco era of Java in the early 20thcentury in mind. This room is dedicated to German poet and artist Walter Spies, an influential German musician and painter who made Indonesia his home. SPA TREATMENTS I was treated to a 'Purnama & Tilem Massage' Energy of the Bali Moon, during my stay at Tugu and I can honestly (yes, really) say this was the best massage I have ever had. Not just because of the massage itself, but at Tugu they take the care to the make the treatments a unique experience. My therapist, Widia, greeted me and explained that before the massage we would walk down to the beach where we would wash our feet and place an offering for the gods. At the end of the massage we would do place a second offering at the hotels temple. Its hard to explain why, but there was something extremely relaxing, just going through these spiritual rituals that you almost don't even need the treatment! But of course, I had it! The massage itself is essentially a traditional Balinese massage that lasts for over an hour and is in the outdoor spa area, so you can drift off whilst listening to the sounds of the ocean. FOOD & DRINK Breakfast and Afternoon Tea is included in your stay at the hotel. For Breakfast you can take this in your room, outside in the courtyards by the pool or in the open plan dining area. There are several delicious breakfast options to choose from, each coming with fresh fruit juices and fresh fruits. In the afternoon, between 4 and 6pm, you can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea with an array of delicious cakes and treats. Make sure you get back from any surfing or sightseeing during the day in time to enjoy this! And for the evening you can dine at the hotels stunning restaurant, and enjoy cocktails upstairs at the bar overlooking the streets of Canggu. Tugu offers a range of traditional dining experiences that can be enjoyed in a variety of private nooks around the hotel. "When you arrive on the small road you may wonder if you got lost, in fact you just found a secret gem! Beautiful surroundings (pool and river on one side, gorgeous garden on the other side) Tasteful design and decoration everywhere around Lovely and helpful team Nice mix of Vietnamese and French food Large choice of activities/tours to visit the area by boat, bike or scooter. We will definitely be back for the Mekong and for the Hotel!"MesaStila: "Wonderful and different"
"Just left beautiful Mesastila Hotel. In the middle of a coffee plantation surrounded by jungle. We stayed in a typical Javanese villa, like nothing I have stayed in before. It had lovely furniture and antiques and was huge. And as for the terrace-enormous. Fabulous spa and restaurant. The staff couldn't do enough for us. They arranged our trips and were friendly and polite. It is a very different kind of experience at Mesastila. The attention you expect but the buildings, history and immaculate gardens make it an experience you are unlikely to forget. Wonderful."The Island Lodge: "Such a luxury shelter 2 hours from Saigon"
"Seeing some good comments on this hôtel, we changed our plans to go for this boutique hotel to spend 2 days there. The rooms have a total view on the Mekong , the pool and the restaurant also. You will live with the river while you are there. Owners dedicated all their time to create this harbor and will spend time to make you feel at home. Restaurant is at the top end of what you will find in the best hotels here in Vietnam, with a slight French touch. The ratio quality /price is high and I recommend without hesitation."Dewakan: "Great local ingredients Fusion"
I have mistaken the this restaurant with another similar restaurant in Cyberjaya Malaysia. Please do disregard the other restaurant I wrote a review on Al Diwan. The review for this restaurant is great as mentioned the Masterchef Australia judges should try this place of marrying local ingredients to western flavour. Great degustation menu . Great place to visit.Sukoon Houseboat: "Wonderful place but not now"
"This is an idealic place. Wonderful location beautiful scenery, and we were truly spoilt. Sadly you should not visit there for the foreseeable future, because of all the rioting of the local people. You can't go out, no shops open, people off the streets curfews, Internet constantly down and teeming with army and guns. The Sukoon was truly a haven in a very troubled times. Shangloo travel agency should never have brought us to Srinagar, knowing we couldn't do any of his promised tours. This was a very dangerous act."Satri House: "Special and a real secret retreat!…"
"We couldn't have made a better choice for our stay in LP! Used to check all reviews in detail before we make our booking, our expectations were already high when arriving at Satri House, but our experience during our 4 nights stay has beaten this even more. All ingredients for a perfect stay for my wife, our daughters and myself were there! It certainly is a hidden gem! All staff members are super friendly and personal. The warm welcome by Giovanni (the Satri House GM) himself was much appreciated. The atmosphere within Satri House is really special....quiet and majestic...Every single corner of the hotel has special, beautiful decorations and the rooms are very well acquainted with lots of special details. AC is perfect and beds very comfortable...Both swimming pools provided our kids lots of fun after having discovered LP and its surroundings in the heat during the day. Located very little outside the city centre, but with a short of 5 minutes by bike or TukTuk you're at the night market and the city centre. Breakfast is very good and a la carte (a la carte fits more with the atmosphere of Satri House than a buffet, so keep it like this). Marmelades prepared by the lovely grand old lady are delicious and the special birthday cake for our youngest daughter during her birthday was very much appreciated! All in all, having travelled all over the world and stayed in many small boutique hotels in SE Asia, Satri House is a must stay and recommended for 100%! @Giovanni, suppose the buffalo mozzarella of the local buffalo farm has been / will be placed on your menu card....:-)...It would confirm your roots with this secret retreat on the other side of the earth...:-). Regards with lovely memories, Roger, Miranda, Noa and Lily"The Island Lodge: "Excellent stay"
"When searching for a good hotel for a weekend in-between business meetings in Manila and Hanoi, I found the Island Lodge, conveniently near HCMC where I needed to change flights anyhow on my travel to Hanoi. The hotel arranged for transport and I arrived after a 2hr drive from HCMC airport. The lodge is situated on the ""Unicorn Island"" in the Mekong Delta. Owner/manager Michel and team made sure I received a good welcome and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The lodge is in a quiet area with great, comfortable and well equipped rooms. There is a large swimming pool overlooking the river. The restaurant (also used for breakfast) is designed with great care and offers a very good choice of food, both Vietnamese and French. It is a great place to relax for several days or a (long) weekend. I also enjoyed a boat tour to My Tho, a city about 20 mins away from the hotel. The second day of my stay I took a 4 island boat tour which offered a great impression of the Mekong area and islands. In one word: excellent! Will try to visit again soon! Room Tip: There are also 2 bungalows with 2 bedrooms suitable for families"Villa Song Saigon: "Great Boutique Hotel in Saigon"
"Stayed here last week for one nigh on way home and we will absolutely be back. It was great relaxing change compared the the larger hotels as you'd expect from a boutique property. We arrived, checking in and heading for the bar overlooking the river. Service is great and staff very friendly. We booked a table in the restaurant and decided to stay there the evening. The food was very, very good. The following morning we had a great breakfast sitting overlooking the river and my wife then headed to the spa for a very well priced treatment. I took the hotel bus into town. I great stay, but you pay the going rate for that extra privacy and environment. I would add though that the Hotel boat isn't running at the moment and won't be for some time are the local administration are doing extensive works at the landing site. I can now understand why they have a boat because getting into town takes a while dependant on traffic. Not the hotels fault, and what else can they do. I didn't go anywhere around the hotel but it seems it is in an area with lots of Schools and upmarket property. Seemed to be lost of nice eating places etc nearby."
