"My 10the stay at this wonderful, simple and warm lodge. Staff are second to none, food is delicious, the views are simply stunning! Jhalak and Hari made us feel very welcome and spoilt us rotten! The rooms all have a view and are spread over the property in chalets. Morning tea is served there and used as a wake up call. No tv or telephones in room. Maison Polanka has the kind of subtle elegance that never intrudes. It is beautiful, the rooms and grounds. It is intimate and yet private. You are totally taken care of in an unobtrusive way. And the food is excellent, some of the best we had in Southeast Asia. That said it seems excessive to say that the herbal massage I had (I had a chest cold) was an amazing experience. Satri House is simply a very special place. My husband and I stayed there three nights right before Christmas and couldn't have been happier. The hotel staff is very welcoming and warm; the property is gorgeous with amazing antique furniture, two pools and a very special design. The food in the restaurant is also excellent served in a patio like setting overlooking lush vegetation. Of all hotels we stayed at during our two week trip, Satri House was our favorite. "Delightful boutique hotel set in an old building with lots of character. We had a room set around a pretty courtyard area. It was a bit small by 5* Thai standards but nicely decorated and a very comfortable bed. The restaurant is set in a lovely courtyard where you have both breakfast & dinner. It has a reasonable breakfast choice with buffet & a la carte options - I had the Egg Benedict and an omelette on separate occasions which were both really tasty. We also ate twice in the evening (see separate entry). Lovely quiet swimming pool with the sun from 09.00. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Location might be an issue for some people as it is quite far from the market and busier part of town but I would certainly go back to enjoy the tranquility of the place. "Abbiamo soggiornato a Bali in diversi hotel e ville, ma Villa Mathis ci è rimasta nel cuore. Lo staff di Villa Mathis è stato gentilissimo e disponibilissimo durante le nostre tre notti di soggiorno. La villa è bellissima, in stile balinese e sebbene la nostra fosse vicino ad un'altra la privacy è garantita. Il servizio, ogni sera, di disinfestazione ci ha permesso di dormire sonni tranquilli. I love this hotel. It's an incredibly unique place that's adorned throughout with Indonesian antiques, and it also has an incredible antique shop for browsing or buying (not to mention a very large and well-curated selection of Balinese silver jewelry, both contemporary and vintage). The rooms are fantastic, filled with super stylish antiques, art, and fresh flowers. The hotel also has incredibly cool stationery in each room, reminiscent of grand hotels of the early 20th century. Melati Restaurant, part of the hotel, serves some of the best food in all of Java. This place is truly special and has to be one of my favorite hotels anywhere in the world.villa song: "elegant colonial house"
We booked the imperial suite and didn't regret it. Huge in size, wonderful bathroom with riverview and 2 balconies, one on the river and a smaller to to poolside. Villa Song Saigon is a peaceful retreat in an elegant area full of colonial houses. We loved the whole interior of the house, this french colonial style, bright and airy. The front desk arranged a private trip for us to the cu chi tunnels, the tour was organized well. Both days, we took the shuttle to town (only bus available when we stayed there), it was a short ride about 15-20 minutes and comfortable. Breakfast was good, also our asian lunch. Snacks are also available by the poolside. We loved our stay here, although it was a bit far out of Saigon Center.Tugu Bali: "Beauty in Bali"
"We had a lovely stay here in September, sadly of only 2 nights... We were greeted and welcomed so well when we arrived after a long journey and nothing was too much for the staff. This area of Canggu is near to Echo Beach and a part of Bali that we see has not been spoilt yet... We were told that Seminyak was the place to go but I disagee and would strongly advise this area as it is more pure and real Bali than Seminyak. Our Dedari suite room at the hotel was truly beautiful and an outdoor/indoor bathroom with fish pond! Only downside was that we thought the hotel was on the beach but it isn't although just a few steps away..."
