Inle Princess Resort: "Lake Paradise!"
"Do not go to Inle Lake if you cannot stand mosquitoes, or if you think you are going to find an alpine lake, with crystal clear water. Having said all that, GO to Inle Lake if you want to experience the magic of a land of great craftsmen and wonderful cooks, where the temples are the most beautiful and the lake is just a means of transportation to many enchanted venues in the area. And if you go, stay at the Inle Princess Resort, where I had one of the best stays of my entire life, enjoying their super spacious rooms, with indoor and outdoor showers, great treats from the chef and of course, excellent breakfast and even better dinner. I cannot stress enough how well we were treated in the resort and how much I would like to go back. The property is the closest resort to the town of Nyaung Shwe, so the boat ride is fairly quick. Only in our last day did we realize that there was a road to town as well, but I sincerely believe, after a day full of activities, that your best bet is to relax in the pool area, enjoy the sunsets and have the best dinner at the hotel!"Rachamankha: "Book here if you want an authentic experience"
"I went here for my honeymoon and I must say we are both very satisfied. The hotel has been designed by a famous architect (just found out while I was there). It's some sort of ""zen"" garden with sophisticated art and furniture pieces. In this hotel you will feel like you are part of Thailand's culture. Truly authentic. Plus, friendly staff and good quality breakfast."Maisons Wat Kor: "Right next to Khmer ancient houses and historical attraction places"
I have spent few nights there with group of my friends from Australia and Phnom Penh. We've enjoyed our stay very much, real Khmer villa accommodations, great pool, great local foods and friendliness staff is another plus to make this property stand up the most popular in Battambang town. I have no hesitate to come back again with my family and highly recommended this property to all kinds of traveller.Misool Eco Resort: "Unique and Amazing!"
"My wife and I have traveled enough to say this resort is one of the most amazing, unique places in the world. The story behind the why the resort exists and the process to create it so impressive. The diving, as many others have pointed out, is some of the best bar none. Yes...there are some challenges. Not the easiest place to get to. They could also do a better job with communication prior to arrival. (hopefully being solved soon) Once you arrive and get one night's good sleep, you will be so happy you made the journey. We did the 9+1 trip and that felt like a very good length. Next time (and there will very likely be a next time within the next few years) we will likely go for the 12+1. There is so much to do even when you are not diving but we spent most of our time diving because the dive team is great and its just so magical underwater. Of course you don't want to miss the dive when others in your group just spend 30 minutes with three mantas right? I could go on and on about why and how this team is making miracles in this tiny island but I prefer short reviews on trip advisor. If you love to see underwater life and have the time and money to make this journey, give it a go and have a wonderful experience."The Tiger’s Eye: "Better with every visit!"
"The Tigers Eye - it's been open now for a while, I wanted to hold off on my review as the first visit I made over a year ago was phenomenal but I wanted to be sure that the high standards would be kept. The chef here, Tim, has such a solid reputation for his creativity and constantly evolving menu which is one of the best elements of The Tigers Eye... you can never exhaust the menu as there is always something new to try! The service is great, other restaurants in town on this level can be very sterile and too formal for my taste but at The Tigers Eye they have created the perfect blend of professional & friendly, I'm a people watcher & have observed the staff operate, they have the experience to gauge a table and can tell the difference between a formal / business meeting & a more relaxed jovial meal... for me that part of The Tigers Eye experience is priceless! The decor is warm & welcoming & the layout gives the option for large groups to sit together. In a nutshell - if you're in Phnom Penh for a short time make sure to drop in, if you're here for a longer period - go and judge for yourself, I'm sure it'll become one of your 'go-to' places to dine!"4 rivers: "Absolutely beautiful place, such an unusual but wonderful stay"
"The setting is spectacular. It feels so remote. Although the accommodation is canvas, it is so well equipped inside it was better than some hotel rooms we'd had. Proper flushing loo and double hand basins with a lovely shower. There was no kettle in the room but the staff would bring some hot drinks over if requested. The staff were generally very friendly and helpful, it was a homely, welcoming feel. The food was excellent, and the day trips are really worthwhile. There is no wi if but its sometimes nice just to read and relax, the hotel provide DVDs as there is no cable for TV programmes, very much a get away from it all place. Over a 3 week Cambodia / Laos holiday in such a selection of hotels, this one really stands out. It is very close to the jungle so there needs to be some common sense re mosquitos etc but it really is worth a visit. We had 2 nights there, I think 4 would have been ideal."Muang La Lodge: "coup de coeur"
"Muang The Lodge was our favorite heart during our trip to Laos in February 2017. Wonderful scenery, spacious bedroom and bathroom, excellent meals and presented with taste and full of small, delicate and touching attentions; original hot baths and very nice .... in short, no complaints. The cost is equal to the benefits offered. "LEOPARD SAFARIS-WILPATTU: "Great three days spent in Wilpattu"
"Having been on a couple of days leopard safari in Yala a few years ago...I was keen to revisit but this time away from the crowds. So we chose to go to Wilpattu. Unfortunately (and out of Leopard Safaris control) the government now don't allow camping in the national parks...so wasn't quite as special...however, still an excellent experience. We were very well looked after by Pilla and his team. The food was excellent, the tent and facilities were good and we had some good sightings. We had some great days spent in the park and saw leopard twice (once hidden and one excellent sighting), sloth bear, elephant and the usual suspects...great bird life. Thanks to the team for making our stay a memorable one and for Pilla's endurance to see leopard! "Maison Polanka: "Way Beyond What We Expected"
We are swept off our feet with the warm reception given us at this beautiful property. We had a perfect stay and we are certainly coming back. We have been to Angkor/Siem Reap before and we were quite particular that this trip would not be a standard Angkor visit. The maison and their staff were very sensitive to our preferences and made every effort to make us feel truly at home.Nimmu House: "A lovely place to relax and acclimatise!"
"We started our journey in lovely Ladakh from Nimmu House. It was a perfect start. We received a very warm welcome followed by 2 days of comfort and lot of personal attention. The apricot and apple trees were in bloom and we were allowed to pick as and when! It is a great eco friendly retreat from busy city life. Chef Mahesh cooked superb meals which were served in the courtyard in open air as weather was lovely. Sumo is a wonderful lady who is an extremely helpful and pleasant person. Overall a very satisfying stay. Would recommend definitely. Free Wifi is available but in certain areas only., We started our journey to explore Ladakh with Shanti travels. They were brilliant right from pick up from delhi airport till the drop off 10 days later. I would also like to mention guide Wanchuk and Rigzin-driver; they were superb throughout our time in Ladakh."
