Cuca: "Excellent food"
Tapas style food, full of flavor and amazing combinations. Excellent place to dine with family or friends with amazing service and excellent pricesJing’s Residence: "The best hotel we have stayed at anywhere!"
"My husband and I just checked out from a two day stay at Jing’s Residence, and I must say it was the most enjoyable hotel we have ever stayed at in the world. It is not overly opulent nor extravagant, just perfectly designed, with exceptional service, and every detail is taken care of. Imam and his team could not have been more accommodating and attentive, and were never overbearing or fussy. Afternoon tea was a wonderful experience, breakfast was excellent, and the in room local snacks were very much appreciated. The hotel itself is exceptionally beautiful. Furniture and artwork has been very tastefully selected, and the outdoor spaces are as well maintained as the indoor ones. The location couldn’t have been better, steps from the sights and shops but in a very quiet and peaceful part of the old city. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more, and not only should it be where you stay during your time in Pingyao, you should come to Pingyao just to stay here!"Villa Song Saigon: "Charming hotel in a stunning location"
"Pure peace and tranquility next the Saigon River, absolutely stunning place which exceeded all our expectations. Beautiful, colonial style rooms with stunning views, fabulous food all served with the Vietnamese hospitality. We felt wonderfully pampered and spoiled. "David’s Kitchen: "Personalized service and excellent food"
My wife and I were able to dine here for my birthday. We enjoyed excellent personalized service during our entire visit. The staff used our names several times during service and the food was excellent. Some of the highlights were the pumpkin soup, rack of lamb, and chocolate souffle. David personally stopped by our table multiple times during the meal to check in with us and chat a bit. With a full restaurant we could tell that David really cared about the people in his restaurant and created a sense of eating at a friends house...if your friend has amazing food!Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "Sounds like a cliche but this really is a hidden gem"
"Really great characterful and classy colonial style hotel. Very comfortable, friendly helpful staff and a very good Thai restaurant. Somebody with a lot of money and style has set this hotel up. Lots of lounge areas with interesting trinkets and there's a full shared kitchen on the second floor. A short walk from the sky train so easy to get to other parts of the city."Reverie Siam: "Gem"
"This place is simply put great. Very much enjoyed the open/ lofty lobby and restaurant with a more tapas style cuisine and a really decent wine selection. Check the daily specials that are not on the menu. Very friendly staff. Live music at night or jazz through sound system. Rooms/houses are comfy, the outdoor space nicely done. Pool uses no chlorine, consequently the water looks greenish but your eyes don't burn after a swim. Would certainly come back again."Villa Mathis: "Fantastic stay in a little piece of paradise"
"Stayed in La Villa Mathis for three days and enjoyed every bit of it. Me and my travel companion tremendously enjoyed the quiet ambience of the villa and the villa manager Christian was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. The villas have several swimming pools secluded from one to another and we felt like it is reserved specially for us! What a treat! The villa is located quite near with Seminyak strip and the villa staffs will assist you in arranging the transportation. The room was designed in a very thoughtful details and we felt like we can really switch off and rejuvenate in this place. Overall it is an absolutely amazing stay and we definitely will come back to Villa Mathis!"Misool Eco Resort: "Wow"
This place was amazing. It's truly hard to describe the beauty of this place, and what they went through to make it available to the (discerning) masses. Everything was perfect, from the check-in, to the food, to the rooms, to the scuba-diving / snorkeling. I couldn't dive due to a lung issue, but trust me, I saw and experienced just as much. Even got to see some manta rays at the top of an underwater mountain. Calvin, who headed up the diving / snorkeling trips / PADI courses, and has a marine biology degree... very helpful and great instructor, with the added benefit that he's an actual scientist. Even gave a preso on his work with the manta rays. And I'd like to give a shout-out to my snorkeling guide (Nelson i.e. "Son") as well. He's a local, and used to live on a pearl farm... he dove down seemingly without effort 20-30 feet deep to search out cool things to see. I'm not even sure the guy needs scuba equipment. And the reefs in their 1000 km square "no take" zone were in amazing health (which is surprising given all the press about the decline of reefs in other parts of the world right now) - we saw tons of stuff. My favorites were the nudibranches - I saw about 5 or 6 kinds. We also saw a herd of "bumpheads" that apparently National Geographic was trying to get pics / videos of a few weeks before but couldn't find. The amount of biodiversity is truly astounding... the fish stocks and schools were absolutely amazing. Corals too. I also liked the "eco" theme of the resort - they really take it to heart. Our room had air conditioning, but it was only within the mosquito netting above our bed - I thought this was a clever and very energy efficient way to do it, because you really only want it at night when you're sleeping anyway. Also, they're trying to figure out how to do solar, just working through the details right now. One piece of advice: Just bring adequate cash to tip with (preferably IDR, but they can exchange USD or Australian $$ pretty easily) - and not because they expect tips (they don't) but you'll want to tip everyone when you're done, just because of how well they treat you.Talabgaon Castle: "Great heritage resort"
We stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our heritage room was tastefully decorated in a tradional style and made good use of the original arched architecture, quite charming. The monogrammed bedlinen and fluffy white towels were beautiful, and not found elsewhere in our four weeks in India. The gardens and pool area were beautifully maintained, and a great place to relax and dine. Service was sometimes slow, but it is good to see that locals are being trained to provide it. The food when it came was excellent. In all, a wonderful place to chill out, and great value.Sea Dance Resort: "Sea Dance"
"Super customer service from the very moment I stepped upon Sea Dance. Greeted by very friendly staff everywhere I went, including all the staff at the restaurant and bar area. Stayed at a villa that was well thought out, with an outdoor toilet and shower room that provided full privacy. Exceptionally clean."
